Abstract

Mathematical intuition is widely acknowledged as a fundamental component of mathematical thinking, influencing conceptual understanding, reasoning, and learning processes. However, research on mathematical intuition in mathematics education has evolved across multiple disciplines and publication venues, resulting in a fragmented and heterogeneous body of literature. This study aims to systematically map research trends, thematic structures, and future research directions in the field through a bibliometric analysis of Scopus-indexed publications published between 2005 and 2025. Employing a descriptive-quantitative bibliometric approach, publication metadata were analyzed using the bibliometrics package in R and VOS-viewer, focusing on publication trends, document types, geographical distribution, international collaboration networks, keyword co-occurrence, and thematic evolution. The findings reveal a clear shift from early philosophical and epistemological inquiries, such as intuitionism, truth, and justification, toward more pedagogical, cognitive, and practice-oriented research themes, including mathematics education, diagrammatic reasoning, embodied cognition, and mathematical knowledge. Despite the global growth of publications, international research collaboration remains limited and unevenly distributed across regions. Thematic evolution analysis indicates that mathematical intuition consistently occupies a central position, functioning as a conceptual bridge between foundational philosophical perspectives and contemporary instructional concerns. Based on these findings, this study recommends several priority directions for future research, including research on visual, diagrammatic, and embodied approaches to fostering intuition.

Abstract

Metacognitive skills is essential for solving complex mathematical problems, particularly in higher-order ordinary differential equations that require structured reasoning and reflection. This study aimed to describe university students’ metacognitive skilss profiles in solving higher-order differential equation problems based on their mathematical ability levels. A qualitative case study approach was employed. The population consisted of 43 students from Universitas Negeri Makassar who had enrolled in the Ordinary Differential Equations course. Three students were purposively selected to represent high, moderate, and low mathematical ability levels. Data were collected through problem-solving tests and semi-structured interviews. The data were analyzed qualitatively using the stages of data collection, data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, guided by three metacognitive indicators: planning, monitoring, and evaluation. The results showed that students with high mathematical ability demonstrated strong metacognitive awareness by effectively planning, monitoring, and evaluating their problem-solving processes. Students with moderate mathematical ability were able to plan and monitoting their solutions but experienced difficulties in evaluating their work. In contrast, Students with low mathematical ability can maximally fulfill one metacognitive indicator; Planning indicators. Students make a calculation error in the strategy that has been designed so it results in the final result of the answer. These findings highlight the need for instructional strategies that explicitly foster metacognitive awareness to support students in solving advanced differential equation problems.

Abstract

This study examines the growing phenomenon of vulnerable population exploitation on social media platforms—including TikTok, YouTube, Instagram, and Facebook—in which content creators publish videos featuring elderly individuals, persons with disabilities, children, and impoverished groups to generate digital revenue and audience engagement. Grounded in Peter L. Berger and Thomas Luckmann's theory of Social Construction of Reality and Erving Goffman's Impression Management framework, this research investigates the motivational factors driving content creators to produce such content and the social constructions these creators disseminate through digital platforms. Employing a qualitative approach through literature review and content analysis, the study draws on multiple academic journals, relevant legislation, and publicly accessible social media content. The findings reveal that economic incentive, social recognition, and algorithmic reinforcement are the primary drivers of viral exploitation content. Content creators strategically perform emotional staging—framing scenes of poverty, disability, and suffering—to elicit empathy from audiences and convert it into digital coins, views, and subscribers. This practice constructs a distorted social reality in which vulnerability is commodified and suffering becomes a form of entertainment. The study recommends enhanced multi-stakeholder collaboration among the Ministry of Communication and Information (Kominfo), Ministry of Social Affairs (Kemensos), and Regional Social Services (Dinsos) to regulate exploitative content, alongside greater platform accountability and improved digital literacy among the public.

Abstract

This study aims to examine and synthesize various methods and strategies of learning English in elementary schools through the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach. The data source was obtained from national and international journal articles published in the 2020–2025 period and discussed methods, strategies, and approaches to learning English for young learners. The results of the study show a significant shift from traditional approaches such as the Grammar Translation Method to communicative and student-centered approaches, such as Communicative Language Teaching, Task-Based Learning, Total Physical Response, Direct Method, and storytelling strategies. Communicative and contextual approaches have been shown to be more in line with the characteristics of elementary school students who are active, love concrete activities, and learn through social interaction. In addition, the integration of interactive digital media also increases student motivation and learning participation. However, the implementation of innovative strategies still faces challenges in the form of limited teacher competencies, large class sizes, and uneven infrastructure. Therefore, the use of an integrative approach that combines various methods contextually and adaptively is recommended to optimally improve students' communicative competence.

Abstract

This research paper examines the impact of social media on public engagement with religious media content, the Spiral of Silence theory, and audience reactions to such content. Social media has transformed the way religious content is created, distributed, and consumed. However, the Spiral of Silence phenomenon holds that individuals are less likely to express views or opinions that they believe others will disagree with. The study explores how social media is affecting the willingness of individuals to discuss and engage with religious media contents and how individuals react to these contents. The paper highlights real-life examples of controversies in Nigerian religious social media and analyzes the potential risks and rewards of religious media content dissemination on social media. The study concludes that social media platforms have become key players in the dissemination of religious media contents and have created unique challenges and opportunities for religious communication. The Spiral of Silence theory is still applicable in the context of discussions about religious media contents on social media, and it has the potential to silence minority opinions and magnify the impact of dominant ones. Additionally, audiences' reactions to religious media contents on social media are diverse and complex, driven by a range of factors such as religious affiliation, personal beliefs, and broader societal trends. However, it is important to be mindful of the potential ethical and theological challenges that arise from producing and sharing religious media content on social media. Audiences' reactions to religious media contents are complex and can vary widely depending on several factors, including religious affiliation and societal trends. Finally, the study recommends ways to improve the dissemination of religious media content, increase user privacy and make algorithms more transparent, and prevent the spread of misinformation and hate speech. Future research should focus on further examining the impact of social media on the distribution and reception of religious media contents.
