Abstract

The trade war between the United States and China that began in 2018 significantly impacted the global economy, including Indonesia. The tariff policy implemented by the U.S., especially the one that will continue at its peak in 2025, causes global economic uncertainty, disrupts international supply chains, and lowers Indonesia's trade with the two countries. This study aims to analyze the role of sharia investment in reducing the impact of protectionist policies implemented by the U.S. and China on the Indonesian economy. Using a descriptive qualitative approach with thematic analysis methods and a systematic literature review, this study identifies that Sharia investment can strengthen Indonesia's economic resilience, especially by diversifying funding sources to real sectors such as infrastructure and renewable energy. The findings suggest that sharia investment, with the principles of prudence and sustainability, can be an alternative solution that reduces dependence on volatile global markets and enhances Indonesia's economic stability amid global uncertainty.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the low manifestation of spiritual intelligence among santriwati at Al-Wafa Putri Islamic Boarding School in Palangka Raya, despite the implementation of Quran reading and memorization programs. The aim of the research is to determine the effect of Quran reading intensity on students’ spiritual intelligence. Using a quantitative method with a correlational approach, hypothesis testing showed a significance value of p = 0.000, indicating a strong positive relationship between Quran reading intensity and spiritual intelligence. Based on simple regression analysis, it was found that 36.4% of the variance in spiritual intelligence is influenced by the intensity of Quran reading, while the remaining 63.6% is affected by other uncontrolled factors. These findings highlight that regular and consistent engagement with the Quran significantly enhances spiritual intelligence. The habit of reading the Quran not only strengthens religious practices but also contributes to character building and inner spiritual growth. This suggests the need for Islamic boarding schools to implement meaningful, consistent, and integrated Quran recitation programs as part of their daily student development activities. The research emphasizes that spiritual intelligence can be nurtured through structured and ongoing religious activities, especially through reading and internalizing the Quran.

Abstract

Student responsibility attitudes are important in shaping character and discipline in school. Teachers play a big role in fostering this attitude through the right approach. At SMA Terpadu Islam Hasanka Boarding School Palangka Raya, the teacher's approach is the key to increasing student responsibility for regulations in school activities. This study aims to describe the teacher's approach in improving students' attitude of responsibility at SMA Terpadu Islam Hasanka Boarding School, Palangka Raya. This research uses a qualitative method. The subjects of this study are two teachers, consisting of 1 teacher of Moral Faith and one teacher of Islamic Religious Education. Meanwhile, the informants in this study are the principal, vice principal for student affairs, and students. Data collection techniques include observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis is carried out qualitatively through four stages: data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and drawing a conclusion.   The results of this study show that students of Hasanka Boarding School Palangka Raya Integrated Islamic High School generally have an attitude of responsibility towards school regulations, both in learning activities and outside of learning. In the classroom, students tend to complete assignments on time, be active, and be ready to learn, although some are still inconsistent. Outside of the classroom, students are quite disciplined in participating in activities such as congregational prayers, Qur'an halaqah, ceremonies, and extracurricular activities, although some have not fully complied with the rules of attributes. Teachers use persuasive, communicative, and personal approaches through example and guidance to foster student responsibility. This approach has proven to be effective in shaping students' attitudes of discipline and compliance with school rules.

Abstract

Research on multicultural leadership has not systematically referred to the principles of the Qur'an in the context of Islamic education. This research aims to examine the principles of leadership in multicultural Islamic education based on the perspective of the Qur'an, focusing on universal values that support harmonization in a pluralistic educational environment. The research method used is qualitative with a library research approach, where data is collected through an in-depth study of Qur'anic verses, classical and contemporary interpretations, and literature related to multicultural leadership and education. The results of this study show that the Qur'an establishes five main principles of leadership in multicultural Islamic education: Amanah, al-'is (justice), ash-shura (deliberation), at-tasamuh (tolerance), and al-hikmah (wisdom). These principles are theoretical and can be implemented in practice through inclusive policies, the development of multicultural-based curricula, and the fostering of respect for differences among learners. This study concludes that integrating Qur'anic values in Islamic education leadership can be an effective solution to create an environment that is harmonious, equitable, and responsive to diversity. Practical recommendations include multicultural leadership training for educators and strengthening collaboration between educational institutions to promote unity in diversity. These findings contribute to a theoretical model of Islamic educational leadership based on Qur'anic values integrated with modern multiculturalism.

Abstract

The unique framework provided by Islamic banking and finance, which is based on social welfare, equity, and moral principles that forbid exploitative practices like interest (riba), makes it particularly pertinent to underprivileged groups that experience structural economic marginalization. Because of structural obstacles and a lack of trust, many vulnerable groups continue to be neglected by traditional financial institutions, even in spite of the expansion of financial inclusion initiatives. The purpose of this study is to investigate the ways in which Islamic financial instruments, including qard al-hasan (benevolent loans), zakat (almsgiving), waqf (endowment), and profit-and-loss sharing models like mudarabah and musharakah, can be used to advance economic justice and increase financial inclusion in these communities. Purposive sampling, case study analysis, content analysis, and documentary/secondary data are all used in this qualitative study to examine how Islamic Financial Institutions (IFIs) contribute to inclusive growth. Thematic analysis is employed to find trends and evaluate the success of Islamic finance projects relative to traditional financial methods. According to preliminary research, Islamic finance's ethical investment practices, wealth redistribution, and risk-sharing all greatly enhance social justice and economic empowerment. Conclusion: The study comes to the conclusion that incorporating Islamic finance into national financial inclusion plans can be a long-term solution to combat poverty and promote equitable growth. It also makes policy suggestions to fortify its institutional and legal foundation. Economic justice and financial inclusion for underserved populations can be greatly improved by incorporating Islamic banking concepts into national financial systems.

Abstract

Collaboration skills are an important competency in facing the challenges of the 21st-century world. Therefore, collaboration skills need to be developed since students are in school. The Project-Based Learning (PJBL) learning model, whose learning center is focused on students, is said to be able to improve students' collaboration skills. This study aims to describe the implementation of the PjBL model in Senior High School (SMA) and examine its contribution to improving students' collaboration skills.   This study uses a literature review method. Analysis was carried out on the implementation of PjBL and the indicators of collaboration skills developed. The data was taken from the Google Scholar and Publish or Perish databases, with the article criteria being an Indonesian article about implementing the Project-Based Learning learning model in high school students with a publication period of 2015 to 2025. 18 articles met these criteria. The results of the study show that to obtain effective implementation of PjBL, teachers must know the proper stages of implementation of PjBL and be able to carry out their role as facilitators well. PjBL has improved students' collaboration skills in five key dimensions: active participation, effective communication, group responsibility, respect for differences, and resource management. These findings reinforce the importance of implementing PjBL as an effective approach in shaping students' collaboration skills in the 21st-century learning era.

Abstract

This study investigates the concept of labour dignity in Islamic ethical teachings, focusing on how foundational Islamic texts conceptualize the rights and responsibilities of workers and employers. While numerous studies address Islamic economic principles or general labour rights, few have examined labour dignity specifically through an ethical lens that integrates both classical sources and contemporary applications. This research aims to fill that gap by systematically analyzing how Islamic principles—drawn from the Qur'an, Hadith, and Islamic jurisprudence—can inform modern work ethics and labour practices. The study adopts a qualitative content analysis approach, using targeted keywords such as Islamic labour ethics, the dignity of work in Islam, and social justice in Islamic thought to review relevant primary and secondary literature. The findings indicate that Islam upholds labour dignity through core values such as fair compensation, mutual respect, social responsibility, and anti-exploitation norms. Workers are regarded not merely as economic agents but as participants in spiritual and communal growth, while employers are ethically obligated to ensure just treatment. The study contributes to Islamic labour ethics scholarship by bridging religious doctrines with contemporary socio-economic discourse, offering theoretical insight and practical recommendations for promoting equity and justice in diverse labour environments.

Abstract

From classical times to the modern era, the relationship between religion and politics has been a never-ending debate. On the one hand, religion is considered a moral foundation that directs political action towards justice and the welfare of the people, while on the other hand, the political world is often separated from the spiritual dimension to maintain objectivity and individual freedom. In this article, Muhammad Iqbal, a prominent Muslim thinker from the 20th century, opposes secularism and proposes a spiritual democracy system, which combines the principles of democracy with Islamic values to create a just and prosperous government. Through ijtihad, Muslims are invited to interpret Islamic teachings to be relevant to the challenges of the times. The research method uses qualitative with a literature study approach (library research). The main focus of this study is how Muhammad Iqbal views the relationship between religion and politics, and to what extent Muhammad Iqbal's thoughts are relevant in the modern era. The results of this study found two interesting things, namely: first, Muhammad Iqbal's thoughts on the relationship between religion and politics emphasize the importance of combining the principles of democracy and Islamic moral values in the system of government. Second, Muhammad Iqbal's thoughts on the relationship between religion and politics remain relevant in the modern socio-political context.

Abstract

This study investigates parental preferences in selecting integrated Islamic educational institutions in Mataram, West Nusa Tenggara, particularly among career-oriented parents who face challenges in directly supervising their children’s education. The research aims to identify the most dominant attribute influencing parental preferences and to evaluate the extent to which these attributes contribute to the decision-making process. A quantitative method was employed using conjoint analysis. Data were collected from 100 mothers of kindergarten-aged children residing in Mataram, selected through quota sampling. A questionnaire was used for data collection, and the analysis was conducted using conjoint analysis with a multiple linear regression approach via SPSS. The results indicate that among six evaluated attributes; school quality, teacher quality, school image, service quality, location, and cost only teacher quality and school location significantly influence parental preferences. Among these, teacher quality emerged as the most dominant factor. Collectively, the six attributes accounted for 76.8% of the variance in parental preference, while the remaining 23.2% was influenced by factors outside the research model. These findings underscore the importance of teacher competence and accessibility in shaping school choice decisions, offering valuable insights for educational institutions aiming to attract and retain students through improved staffing and strategic location planning.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of behaviouristic approach in learning Islamic Religious Education (PAI) on moral formation of elementary school students. The study used a quasi-experimental design with a pretest-posttest control group model. The subjects consisted of 50 fifth grade students of SDN 141 Palembang who were divided into two groups: experimental (n=25) and control (n=25). The experimental group received PAI learning with a behaviouristic approach based on positive reinforcement such as praise and symbolic rewards for 8 weeks, while the control group received conventional learning. The research instruments were Likert scale questionnaires and observation sheets. The results of the independent t-test analysis showed that the experimental group experienced a significant increase in the aspects of discipline, honesty, and politeness with an average score of 83.44 compared to the control group with an average score of 71.36. Observations also showed that the consistency of religious behaviour was higher in the experimental group. Thus, the behaviouristic approach has the potential to improve students' moral formation if supported by consistent reinforcement and a conducive learning environment.
