Abstract

The number of people with Diabetes Mellitus in Indonesia ranked seventh globally. Non-compliance with taking medication results in therapy failure. This research aims to study theory of planned behavior on compliance intention factors using hypoglycemic drugs in Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus patients. Type of research is analytical observational, with a cross-sectional study design. Instrument used was questionnaire based theory of planned behavior including attitudes, support, and perceived behavioral control regarding treatment compliance Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus patients. 321 respondents Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus sufferers in this study. Independent variables (attitude, support, perceived behavioral control) influence dependent variable (compliance). Variables contributed most compliance were support (172,099), attitude (59,413) and perceived behavioral control (45,000). The results, there is a relationship between attitude, support and perceived behavioral control on oral medication adherence in Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus patients. The support variable has greatest contribution in influencing adherence to medication use. Ketidakpatuhan minum obat berdampak kegagalan terapi. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis kepatuhan penggunaan obat oral pada pasien Diabetes Melitus Tipe 2 menggunakan theory of planned behavior. Jenis penelitian adalah observasional analitik, dengan desain studi cross-sectional. Instrumen yang digunakan berupa kuesioner berdasarkan theory of planned behavior meliputi sikap, dukungan, dan persepsi komtrol perilaku terhadap kepatuhan berobat pada pasien Diabetes Melitus Tipe 2. Sebanyak 321 responden penderita Diabetes Melitus Tipe 2 dalam penelitian ini. Variabel independen (sikap,dukungan, dan persepsi kontrol perilaku) berpengaruh terhadap variabel dependen (kepatuhan). Variabel yang paling berkontribusi terhadap kepatuhan adalah dukungan (172,099), sikap (59,413) dan persepsi kontrol perilaku (45,000). Dari hasil penelitian terdapat hubungan antara sikap, dukungan, dan persepsi kontrol perilaku yang dirasakan terhadap kepatuhan pengobatan oral pada pasien Diabetes Melitus Tipe 2. Variabel dukungan mempunyai kontribusi paling besar dalam mempengaruhi kepatuhan menggunakan obat. Kata Kunci:         Diabetes mellitus tipe 2; kepatuhan minum obat; theory of planned behavior

Abstract

The incidence of falls increases in the elderly, with the risk of injury and death. Cognitive function is important in maintaining body balance. Differences in rural and urban areas affect cognitive function and balance in the elderly. This observational study involved 188 elderly from both areas, with a t-test used to determine differences in cognitive function and body balance between elderly in rural and urban areas, while the relationship between cognitive function and body balance was analyzed using the Pearson Correlation test, and Simple Linear Regression. The results showed that there were significant differences between cognitive function, and static and dynamic balance between the elderly in rural and urban areas (p<0.05). Both areas have many elderly with a high fall risk category. However, the elderly in rural areas are higher than in urban areas. Decreased cognitive function will reduce static balance by 95.1% in rural elderly. This identification is important for rehabilitation management, reducing the risk of falls in the elderly. Keywords:          Cognitive function, balance, elderly, rural, urban   Abstrak Angka kejadian jatuh meningkat pada lanjut usia, dengan risiko cedera hingga kematian. Fungsi kognitif penting dalam menjaga keseimbangan tubuh. Perbedaan lingkungan rural dan urban memengaruhi fungsi kognitif dan keseimbangan lansia. Studi observasional melibatkan 188 lansia dari kedua lingkungan, dengan uji t-test digunakan untuk mengetahui perbedaan fungsi kognitif dan keseimbangan tubuh antara lansia di rural dan di urban, sedangkan hubungan antara fungsi kognitif dan keseimbangan tubuh dianalisis menggunakan uji Pearson Correlation, dan Regresi Linear Sederhana. Hasil menunjukkan terdapat perbedaan signifikan anatara fungsi kognitif, keseimbangan statik dan dinamik antara lansia di rural dan urban (p<0.05). Kedua area mempuyai jumlah lansia yang tinggi dengan kategori resiko jatuh tinggi. Tetapi lansia di rural lebih tinggi daripada di urban. Penurunan fungsi kognitif akan menurunkan keseimbangan statik sebesar 95.1% pada lansia di rural. Identifikasi ini penting untuk manajemen rehabilitasi, mengurangi risiko jatuh pada lansia. Abstract

Age-related macular degeneration which is a neurological disease that progresses over time and affects the macula. The purpose of this research was to identify the characteristics of patients diagnosed with age-related macular degeneration who were treated at the SMEC Eye Clinic Samarinda between the years 2018 and 2022. The study was descriptive-observational in nature and applied a cross-sectional method. It made use of secondary data obtained from the medical records of 335 patients diagnosed with age-related macular degeneration who were treated at SMEC Eye Clinic Samarinda between 2018 and 2022. The study found that the majority of patients with age-related macular degeneration during the period 2018-2022 were males, totaling 187 patients (53%). The highest age group was the 60-69 age group, with 145 patients (43%). The involvement of the eyes was predominantly unilateral, with 211 patients (64%), and the most common visual acuity among patients was <6/18-?6/60 or moderate visual impairment, with 180 eyes (39%).   Keywords:          Age Related Macular Degeneration, Gender, Side Eye, Age, Vision   Abstrak Degenerasi makula karena usia atau age related macular degeneration adalah suatu penyakit neurodegeneratif yang bersifat progresif dan mengenai pada makula. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui karakteristik penderita degenerasi makula karena usia di Klinik Mata SMEC Samarinda periode 2018-2022. Penelitian bersifat deskriptif dengan pendekatan cross sectional menggunakan data sekunder berupa rekam medik populasi terjangkau, yaitu 335 penderita degenerasi makula karena usia di klinik Mata SMEC Samarinda dalam periode 2018-2022. Penelitian ini mendapatkan penderita degenerasi makula karena usia terbanyak ialah berjenis kelamin laki-laki sebanyak 187 penderita (53%). Kelompok usia tertinggi ialah usia 60-69 tahun sebanyak 145 penderita (43%). Sisi mata yang terkena ialah unilateral sebanyak 211 penderita (64%) dan visus terbanyak penderita ialah <6/18-?6/60 atau gangguan penglihatan sedang sebanyak 180 mata (39%). Abstract

Rare earth metals (LTJ) are potential prospects that are widely applied in high technology such as cellphones, computer hard disks, solar cells, electric cars, musical instrument components, spacecraft manufacturing, defense industry. The use of REEs relies on their chemical, catalytic, electrical, magnetic and optical properties. In addition, the similar chemical and physical properties of rare earth metals make their separation very difficult and complicated, so appropriate and selective alternative separation methods are needed to obtain pure rare earth metals. One of the separation methods used is solid phase extraction using ion-imprinted polymer (IIP) adsorbents. IIP has the ability to adsorb with high selectivity because it stores the memory effect of the washed template ions. In this review article, an overview of various IIP syntheses for REE separation will be presented. It is hoped that this article can be a reference for research on IIP synthesis, especially for REEs. Keywords:          Ion Imprinted Polymer, Rare Earth Metals (REEs), and IIP Synthesis   Abstrak Logam tanah jarang (LTJ) merupakan prospek potensial yang banyak diaplikasikan pada teknologi tinggi seperti handphone, hard disk komputer, sel surya, mobil listrik, komponen perangkat alat musik, pembuatan pesawat luar angkasa industri pertahan. Penggunaan LTJ mengandalkan sifat kimia, katalitik, listrik, magnet, dan optiknya. Selain itu, sifat kimia dan fisika yang mirip pada logam tanah jarang membuat pemisahannya sangat sulit dan rumit, maka diperlukan metode pemisahan alternatif yang tepat serta selektif untuk mendapatkan logam tanah jarang yang murni. Salah satu metode pemisahan yang digunakan adalah ekstraksi fase padat menggunakan adsorben polimer tercetak ion (IIP). IIP memiliki kemampuan mengadsorpsi dengan selektivitas tinggi karena menyimpan memory effect dari ion template yang dicuci. Dalam artikel review ini, akan dipaparkan gambaran umum mengenai berbagai sintesis IIP untuk pemisahan LTJ. Abstract

Content Benger plant extract compounds (Lagerstroemia ovalifolia Teijsm. & Binn.) are reported as a new class of COX-2 enzyme inhibitors. Molecular docking analysis of Benger plant extract compounds (Lagerstroemia ovalifolia Teijsm. & Binn.) against COX-2 enzyme is required to determine the affinity and interaction pattern between the above compounds and COX-2 enzyme. A total of 23 Benger metabolite compounds were evaluated against COX-2 protein structure (PDB: 5KIR) using Molegro Virtual Docker (MVD) software. The docking results showed that three compounds, namely Kaempferol-3-O-acetyl-glucoside isomer, Acacetin malonylgalactoside, and Kaempferol-3-Oa-L-rhamnoside, had a lower rerank score (more negative) compared to the ligand (RCX_601), indicating potential as COX-2 inhibitors that affect inflammation regulation in silico. In addition, in silico ADMET analysis using pkCSM showed that the three compounds were classified as non-toxic according to BPOM Regulation no. 10 of 2022. Analisis docking molekuler senyawa Senyawa ekstrak tanaman Benger (Lagerstroemia ovalifolia Teijsm. & Binn.)  terhadap enzim     COX-2 diperlukan untuk mengetahui afinitas dan pola interaksi antara senyawa di atas dengan enzim COX-2. Sebanyak 23 senyawa metabolit Benger dievaluasi terhadap struktur protein COX-2 (PDB: 5KIR) menggunakan perangkat lunak Molegro Virtual Docker (MVD). Hasil docking menunjukkan bahwa tiga senyawa, yaitu Kaempferol-3-O-acetyl-glucoside isomer, Acacetin malonylgalactoside, dan Kaempferol-3-Oa-L-rhamnoside, memiliki rerank score yang lebih rendah (lebih negatif) dibandingkan dengan ligan (RCX_601), menunjukkan potensi sebagai inhibitor COX-2 yang mempengaruhi regulasi peradangan secara in silico. Selain itu, analisis ADMET secara in silico menggunakan pkCSM menunjukkan bahwa Kaempferol-3-O-a-L-arabinoside (Juglalin) lebih mudah diabsorpsi oleh usus dibandingkan dengan kedua senyawa lainnya namun ketiga senyawa tersebut diklasifikasikan tidak bersifat toksik. Abstract

Neurodegenerative disorders are disorders caused by a progressive decline in the structure and function of neurons. Preliminary data shows that menopausal women with increasing age are more susceptible to neurodegenerative disorders. Neurodegenerative disorders in menopause are caused by a decrease in estrogen levels as an antioxidant and neuroprotective agent, causing an increase in oxidative stress. Therefore, a natural alternative approach is needed to slow down the occurrence of neurodegenerative disorders in menopausal women. This literature review study was carried out by data searching through Science Direct, Elsevier, and Google Scholar over the last 20 years (2004-2023). From 66 appropriate sources, results were obtained that the phytochemical content of black plum has the potential to prevent neurodegenerative disorders during menopause. Keywords:          Black plum, menopause, neurodegenerative disorders   Abstrak Penyakit neurodegeneratif merupakan gangguan yang disebabkan oleh penurunan struktur dan fungsi neuron secara progresif. Data pendahulu menunjukkan bahwa wanita menopause dengan usia yang semakin tinggi lebih rentan terhadap penyakit neurodegeneratif. Penyakit neurodegeratif pada menopause disebabkan oleh penurunan kadar estrogen sebagai antioksidan dan agen neuroprotektif sehingga menyebabkan peningkatan stres oksidatif. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan pendekatan alternatif alami yang dapat memperlambat terjadinya penyakit neurodegeneratif pada wanita menopause. Studi literature review ini dilakukan dengan pencarian data melalui Science Direct, Elsevier, dan Google Scholar dalam kurun waktu 20 tahun terakhir (2004-2023). Dari 66 sumber yang sesuai diperoleh hasil bahwa kandungan fitokimia plum hitam berpotensi mencegah penyakit neurodegeneratif pada masa menopause. Abstract

Aromatherapy is an alternative treatment method that utilizes essential oils and volatile components, such as terpenes and aromatic compounds. The active compounds of keruing oleoresin are phthalic acid, namely phthalic acid di(3-methoxybenzyl) ester and phthalic acid, 5-ethyl-1,3-dioxan-5-yl octyl ester causing keruing oleoresin to have a distinctive fragrance. The purpose of this study was to formulate keruing oleoresin in aromatherapy candle preparations. This research method includes base optimization, formulation of keruing oleoresin aromatherapy candles with concentrations of 0%; 2.5%; 5%; 7.5%; and 10%, and evaluation of aromatherapy candles including organoleptic testing, melting point, and burning time. The results of organoleptic testing of aromatherapy candles in shape, aroma, and color showed that F4 with 10% oleoresin concentration had a more dominant aroma and color. Melting point and burning time tests showed F1 with a concentration of 2.5% had a higher melting point of 54.6°C and a longer burning time of 144 minutes. Abstract

Corneal ulcers are partial loss of corneal surface tissue from the epithelium to the stroma. This study aims to determine the description of corneal ulcer patients at the Eye Clinic SMEC Samarinda. This study used a descriptive observational with a cross sectional method. Total of 214 samples were obtained using total sampling technique with medical records as the instrument. This study found that the majority of corneal ulcer patients occurred at the age of 30-60 years (65.4%). Most of them were male (71.03%). Most worked as labourers or farmers (32.7%). Most occurred unilaterally (97.2%). Most experienced visual acuity in category 4 (<1/60) (35.5%) with no improvement in visual acuity (50%). The average length of treatment was 61 days ±168.19. Most of them did not perform surgery (78.97%). The most common surgery performed was Amniotic Membrane Transplant (62.7%). Most of the patients had complications (65.9%) with corneal scar being the most common complication (30.4%). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui gambaran pasien ulkus kornea di Klinik Spesialis Mata SMEC Samarinda. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain penelitian observasional deskriptif dengan metode cross sectional. Sebanyak 214 sampel yang diperoleh menggunakan teknik total sampling dengan rekam medik sebagai instrumen penelitian. Penelitian ini mendapatkan mayoritas pasien ulkus kornea terjadi di usia 30-60 tahun (65.4%). Sebagian besar berjenis kelamin laki-laki (71.03%). Sebagian besar bekerja sebagai buruh atau petani (32.7%). Paling banyak terjadi secara unilateral (97.2%). Paling banyak mengalami penurunan visus kategori 4 (<1/60) (35.5%) didominasi tidak mengalami perbaikan ketajaman penglihatan (50%). Rata-rata lama perawatan adalah 61 hari ±168.19. Sebagian besar tidak dilakukan operasi (78,97%). Tindakan operasi yang paling sering dilakukan adalah Amniotic Membrane Transplant (62.7%). Sebagian besar pasien mengalami komplikasi (65.9%) dengan sikatrik kornea menjadi komplikasi terbanyak (30.4%).   Kata Kunci:         Ulkus Kornea, Perbaikan Ketajaman Penglihatan, Amniotic Membrane Transplant

Abstract

Diabetes mellitus is a disease that affects the body's ability to use and produce insulin. Many traditional medicines are currently being developed as antidiabetics, including garlic bulbs (Allium sativum Linn.). There are many types of garlic on the market, including cluster garlic and single garlic. The aim of this research was to obtain the activity and effective dose of cluster garlic extract, single garlic and black garlic in mice induced by alloxan. The method used for extraction is maceration using 96% ethanol. The test animals were divided into 6 groups, namely the negative group, the 0.65mg/kgbw glibenclamide group, the cluster garlic extract group, the single garlic group and the black garlic group with each dose of 175mg/kgbw and 350mg/kgbw induced by alloxan and a decrease was observed. blood glucose levels for 21 days. The results showed an effective reduction in blood glucose levels in the single garlic group 175mg/kgbw with a percent reduction of 37% and the black garlic group 175mg/kgbw with a percent reduction of 33%. Keywords:          Diabetic Mellitus, Fresh Garlic, Solo Garlic, Black Garlic   Abstrak Diabetes mellitus adalah penyakit yang mempengaruhi kemampuan tubuh dalam menggunakan dan menghasilkan insulin. Obat-obatan tradisional saat ini banyak dikembangkan sebagai antidiabetik, diantaranya bulbus bawang putih (Allium sativum Linn.). Bawang putih sendiri di pasaran memiliki banyak jenis diantaranya bawang putih rumpun dan bawang putih tunggal. Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu untuk mendapatkan aktivitas dan dosis efektif ekstrak bawang putih rumpun, bawang putih tunggal dan bawang hitam pada mencit yang diinduksi aloksan. Metode yang digunakan untuk ekstraksi yaitu dengan maserasi menggunakan etanol 96%.  Hewan uji dibagi menjadi 6 kelompok yaitu kelompok negatif, kelompok glibenklamid 0,65mg/kgbb, kelompok ekstrak bawang putih rumpun, kelompok bawang putih tunggal dan kelompok bawang hitam dengan masing-masing dosis yaitu 175mg/kgbb dan 350mg/kgbb diinduksi aloksan dan diamati penurunan kadar glukosa darah selama 21 hari. Hasil menunjukkan penurunan kadar glukosa darah yang efektif pada kelompok bawang putih tunggal 175mg/kgbb dengan persen penurunan sebesar 37% dan kelompok bawang hitam 175mg/kgbb dengan persen penurunan 33%.   Kata Kunci:         Diabetes Mellitus, Bawang putih Tunggal, Bawang Putih Rumpun, Bawang Hitam
