Abstract

Character education is an important component in the formation of early childhood personality. This study aims to examine the management of character education based on religious values in Tunas Harapan Kindergarten, Jember Regency. This process is implemented through natural material collage art activities with star patterns, which focus on the religious values of the first principle of Pancasila, namely Belief in the Almighty God. The researcher used a qualitative approach in this study. Data collection was carried out using interview techniques, observation, and documentation studies. The role of the teacher as a facilitator is very visible in providing direction, instilling values, and encouraging cooperation among children. The results of this observation indicate that the planning, organization, implementation, and evaluation of activities were effective, despite challenges such as limited time and abstract understanding of symbols for children. Supporting factors include children's enthusiasm, school support, and a positive environment. Children succeeded in understanding religious values, showing creativity, and building character, such as discipline, cooperation, and environmental awareness. The evaluation of the activity showed satisfactory results, with positive feedback from children. This study confirms the importance of integrating religious values in early childhood character education through a creative and contextual approach.

Abstract

Indonesia is a country with high diversity that includes ethnicity, religion, culture, language, and socio-economic background. This diversity is clearly reflected in the primary school environment, which is the initial stage of children's character building. However, if not managed properly, diversity can lead to social conflicts such as intolerance and discrimination. Therefore, multicultural education becomes a strategic approach in instilling the values of tolerance, mutual respect and empathy from an early age. This education not only introduces students to diversity, but also guides them to understand and respect differences as social wealth. Integrating multicultural values into the basic curriculum can strengthen inclusive attitudes and create a learning environment that is friendly to all differences. The role of teachers, schools, as well as support from parents and communities is crucial in building an inclusive atmosphere in primary schools. Through this approach, primary education can produce a generation that is not only academically intelligent, but also has high social intelligence and is ready to live peacefully in a pluralistic and global society.

Abstract

This research explores the integration of a deep learning approach as a transformative force in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning in schools, focusing on both pedagogical and technological perspectives. Traditional PAI often faces challenges in relevance and effectiveness due to limitations in teaching methods and a lack of contextualized material. This study posits that deep learning, as a process for understanding complex world patterns, offers significant opportunities to overcome these challenges and revolutionize PAI. The research design employs a qualitative methodology with a library research approach. Information was gathered from relevant national and international academic sources, including books, journal articles, and scholarly publications. For data analysis, the Miles and Huberman model was utilized, encompassing data collection, data reduction, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that the deep learning approach facilitates a paradigm shift in PAI, transitioning it from a mere transfer of knowledge to the formation of applicable character and spiritual intelligence. This is achieved through implementation in adaptive curriculum development, enhancing PAI teacher competencies in technology utilization, and establishing an ethical framework for AI implementation in religious education. This research is expected to contribute academically and practically to the development of PAI, making it more relevant and effective in the modern era.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of implementing the Tyler evaluation model in assessing project-based learning within the framework of the Independent Curriculum at SMP Patriot Bekasi. The Independent Curriculum promotes a shift in learning paradigms, one of which is through project-based learning that emphasizes the holistic development of students’ character and competencies. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed, using data collection techniques including interviews, observations, and documentation. Interviews were conducted with school principals, teachers, students, and parents; observations focused on the learning process, infrastructure, and curriculum implementation support; while documentation provided supplementary data related to learning programs. The findings indicate that the adaptation of Tyler’s evaluation model—which focuses on alignment between learning objectives, experiences, and outcome assessments—effectively enhanced student motivation, creativity, and critical thinking. The learning process became more engaging and meaningful. The synergy between teachers, students, schools, and parents emerged as a key factor in the successful implementation of the projects. The evaluation encompassed cognitive, affective, and psychomotor domains, contributing to the realization of the Pancasila Student Profile values. However, the study also identified several challenges, including limited teacher familiarity with new methodologies, inadequate facilities, and varying levels of student readiness for project-based learning. These findings suggest that while Tyler’s model can be effectively adapted to support the Independent Curriculum, its success depends on continued professional development for teachers and improved learning infrastructure.

Abstract

: This study examines the phenomenon of suicide among university students and adolescents from diverse backgrounds, emphasizing the relationship between mental health conditions and suicidal behavior. The research aims to identify key psychological, social, and emotional factors contributing to suicidal tendencies in youth. Using a qualitative approach supported by case study analysis, the data were obtained through documentation review and interviews with mental health professionals. The findings reveal that most victims exhibited symptoms of mental health disorders, including inner conflict, communication difficulties, and self-harm ideation, which significantly impaired their social functioning and emotional stability. Furthermore, these conditions often manifested in mood fluctuations and deteriorating physical well-being. The study concludes that early detection of mental health disorders and the provision of continuous social and emotional support are essential strategies to prevent adolescent suicide. These findings highlight the need for collaborative interventions between educational institutions, families, and healthcare providers to promote mental well-being and resilience among adolescents.

Abstract

This manuscript reports a single-case design study that was conducted in an after-school program. Three kindergarten students attending an urban elementary school in the southeastern United States acquired foundational mathematics and reading skills after receiving instruction based on a conceptual explicit instruction approach for presenting short-duration lessons. Further, the students demonstrated skill maintenance and generalization two weeks following skill acquisition. As a result of the study’s positive results, the intervention is now serving as the basis for the school’s development of a schoolwide tutoring program for all students. Tutoring is explained within the context of a school’s multi-tiered system of supports that is designed to track each student’s school performance and match the school’s system of interventions to each student’s individualized needs. Additionally, the merits of tutoring and ways to differentiate it so that it is scalable and sustainable in urban schools, particularly those that are in high-poverty areas and are under-resourced, are discussed. Suggestions for additional research are presented.

Abstract

This study aims to confirm the effectiveness of learning management strategies in improving students' learning achievement at Darussalam Buntet Islamic Boarding School. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews, direct observation, and documentation studies of learning activities at various levels of dirosah classes. The results showed that the learning strategies applied by teachers, such as the use of yellow books according to level, sorogan and bandongan methods, and active deliberation proved successful in creating a conducive learning atmosphere and increasing santri involvement in the learning process. Teachers do not only act as material deliverers, but also as facilitators who encourage active participation, provoke santri ideas, and reward their achievements. The implementation of this strategy is proven to improve memorization, understanding of the material, and the ability of students to retell lessons independently. Learning evaluations are carried out periodically to measure santri achievements and improve the methods used. Obstacles such as the low motivation of some students are overcome through a disciplinary approach, strengthening communication, and emotional support from the board. This study confirms that structured and adaptive learning management can significantly improve students' learning achievement. This finding makes an important contribution to the development of a pesantren education system that is more effective and responsive to the needs of students.
