Abstract

This study examines the psychological dynamics experienced by Indonesian Migrant Workers (TKI) who are in long-distance relationships (LDR) and their efforts to maintain marital harmony. The LDR phenomenon among TKI arises from overseas job placements, which separate couples for extended periods. The aim of this study is to understand the psychological challenges faced by TKI couples and the efforts they make to sustain a harmonious relationship despite the distance. This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study design, involving 6-8 TKI couples in Rejomulyo Village, South Metro, using purposive sampling. Data collection was conducted through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation, while data analysis was carried out thematically. The results indicate that the psychological dynamics faced by TKI couples include loneliness, anxiety, and emotional stress due to limited physical interaction. However, they strive to maintain marital harmony through effective communication, building trust, and emotional support from family and psychological counseling. Factors influencing marital harmony include regular communication, trust levels, emotional support, and financial planning. This study contributes to understanding the psychological challenges faced by TKI couples in LDR and their efforts to maintain marital harmony despite the distance.

Abstract

This article analyzes the form of legal protection for women who are victims of neglect of livelihood. Some societal groups still view the lack of compensation for a wife's work as merely domestic violence rather than a legal violation, leaving wives vulnerable. This study explores legal protection for divorced women under Law Number 23 of 2004 on Domestic Violence. The research, conducted in Negararatu Village, Sungkai Utara District, North Lampung Regency, employs a qualitative approach. This study utilizes three types of data sources: primary data from interviews with relevant individuals, secondary data, and tertiary data gathered through observations, interviews, documentation, and direct accounts from victims of economic neglect. Data analysis involves reduction, presentation, verification, and conclusion drawing. The study reveals that wives in Negararatu Village, Sungkai Utara District, North Lampung Regency, experience neglect of their livelihood rights. Legally, protection for victims is provided under existing regulations, including the Domestic Violence Law. The obstacle is that legal protection is not fulfilled because victims are reluctant to report to the police, considering that this case is a complaint offense, the legal protection process cannot be carried out if the victim does not report it first. Keywords: Legal Protection, Women, Livelihood, Domestic Violence.

Abstract

Abstract : This study examines the impact of consumptive culture as a trigger for corruption in the perspective of Islamic economics. This research is motivated by the increasing consumptive trend among university students, which has the potential to encourage individuals to engage in unethical financial behavior, including corruption. This research uses a mixed methods approach, which combines a quantitative survey and a qualitative Systematic Literature Review (SLR). Data was collected from 50 students at Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia, Purwakarta Campus, aged 18-25 years. The results showed that high social pressure and expectations of a luxurious lifestyle can encourage individuals to seek shortcuts, including through acts of corruption. In the perspective of Islamic economics, consumptive behavior has a significant influence on corruption. This is evidenced by 37 out of 50 respondents agreeing that Islamic economic principles can help reduce consumptive culture and prevent corruption. By applying Islamic economic values such as honesty, trustworthiness, and transparency, excessive consumptive behavior can be controlled so that the potential for corruption can be minimized. This research confirms the importance of Islamic economic education in shaping students' financial awareness and ethics to prevent corrupt practices from an early age. Keywords: Consumptive, corruption, Islamic economics, financial ethics, student ethics.

Abstract

The development of digital technology has brought about significant changes in human interactions and transactions, especially through live streaming platforms such as YouTube. The phenomenon of viewers giving digital gifts to content creators during live broadcasts creates a new economic ecosystem that allows creators to earn directly from fan support. However, in the context of a Muslim society, this practice raises questions regarding its compatibility with the principles of Islamic law. This article aims to examine the phenomenon of gifting from a Shariah perspective, taking into account the transaction mechanism, socio-economic impact, as well as the views of contemporary scholars. This research uses a qualitative method with a literature study approach and fatwa analysis, referring to the fatwas of scholars related to digital transactions. The results show that gifting can be categorized as a halal grant, as long as it is done with good intentions, Shariah-compliant content, and transparent and fair transaction mechanisms. The findings provide guidance for the Muslim community in participating in the digital economy without violating religious principles, and encourage further discussion on the application of Islamic law in the context of the evolving digital economy. Abstract

This study aims to explore the social perception of the Lampung Pepadun indigenous community regarding the ownership of sesan following divorce due to infidelity. Sesan refers to household goods provided by the bride’s family in traditional marriages, serving symbolic, social, and cultural functions. Employing a qualitative approach and case study method in Nabang Baru Village, Marga Tiga District, this research investigates family deliberation dynamics, gender relations, and value shifts in post-divorce sesan distribution. The findings reveal that in infidelity cases, the wife’s family assumes authority over the sesan without formal involvement of customary leaders. Family deliberation becomes the primary mechanism to uphold social justice, with the sesan redirected to the child as a moral responsibility. Pepadun custom in this context shows flexibility it is not rigid, but remains alive through social negotiation. Women emerge as active agents defending rights and family dignity. The study concludes that the indigenous social system is not static but adaptive to the realities of domestic conflict, emphasizing moral legitimacy and community-based justice through deliberative practices. Abstract

Abstract: Through discriminatory practices like customary law and the notion of receptie, European colonialism has undermined Indonesia's native legal system, especially Islamic law, since the 16th century. This essay looks at how colonialism affected Islamic law and how it evolved in the postcolonial and globalization eras. The findings demonstrate how laws like the Juvenile Criminal Justice System Law and the Sharia Banking Law helped to codify Islamic law after World War II.  However, Islamic law was only applicable in private settings during the colonial era. Fatwas themselves are dynamic, acting as a tool for social change in addition to resolving theological concerns. This study demonstrates that legal dualism is a detrimental legacy of colonialism. But it also made it possible for Islamic law to be incorporated back into the national legal framework.  According to the Pancasila model, cooperation between academics, policymakers, and religious experts can incorporate Islamic law to make it applicable, relevant, and helpful in the development of a more complete national legal system. Abstract

Abstarct The objective of this study is to examine and compare the interpretations of verses related to zulm in Tafsir Al-Maraghi and Tafsir Al-Misbah by M. Quraish Shihab, as well as how these interpretations can be applied in daily life. Given that Tafsir Al-Maraghi is one of the monumental works of Qur'anic exegesis in the modern era, it holds significant relevance for this research. On the other hand, Tafsir Al-Misbah offers a contemporary interpretation of the Qur'an presented in an accessible and contextual style. This study explores the similarities and differences in how both scholars understand the concept of zulm in the Qur'anic discourse, employing a comparative approach and library research methodology. The findings indicate that zulm is perceived as both a spiritual and social phenomenon that disrupts individual and communal harmony. These interpretations are highly relevant in addressing contemporary social issues, such as the negative impact of social media on social cohesion and spiritual well-being. This research not only enriches academic discourse on Qur'anic exegesis but also offers practical insights for Muslims on how to embody Islamic values in daily life through virtuous behavior, meaningful living, and the promotion of social justice in modern society. Keywords: Tafsir Al-Maraghi, Tafsir Al-Misbah, Zulm, Social Justice, Qur’anic exegesis.

Abstract

Abstract: This study critically examines Syed Muhammad Naquib al-Attas’s concept of Islamization of knowledge, highlighting its original contribution to the reform of contemporary Islamic education. Unlike prior descriptive studies, this research identifies a conceptual gap in the discourse and offers a critical synthesis of al-Attas’s thought. It employs library research using a conceptual-hermeneutic analytical approach to his primary texts. The findings show that al-Attas’s Islamization is not merely a critique of the West, but an integrative project placing revelation as the epistemic foundation, adab as the basis of education, and tawhid as its ontological framework. The study also reveals that his concept can be practically applied to address current challenges such as secularism, identity crisis, and the science-religion dichotomy in Islamic education. By contextualizing al-Attas’s principles in light of today’s educational issues, this study offers both theoretical and practical contributions for revitalizing Islamic curricula grounded in tawhid and epistemic integrity.
