Abstract

Keterampilan menulis artikel ilmiah populer mencerminkan kemampuan literasi dan juga merupakan alat yang efektif penyampaian ide, pandangan, atau temuan kepada teman sejawat dan masyarakat. Pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan menulis artikel ilmiah populer pada guru dan siswa di SMA Negeri 9 Purworejo. Pelatihan difokuskan pada tiga aspek utama: konsep artikel ilmiah populer, struktur penulisan artikel ilmiah, dan penggunaan bahasa serapan dalam penulisan artikel ilmiah. Metode pelaksanaan melalui pendekatan ceramah, diskusi, tanya jawab dan dilanjutkan praktek langsung. Hasil dari kegiatan ini menunjukkan peningkatan kemampuan menulis artikel ilmiah populer baik pada guru maupun siswa. Melalui pelatihan, peserta mendapatkan pemahaman mendalam mengenai pentingnya artikel ilmiah populer sebagai wadah untuk menuangkan gagasan dan hasil penelitian dengan bahasa yang mudah dipahami. Hasil pengabdian menunjukkan kepuasan peserta dan peningkatan kemampuan mereka setelah pelatihan. Temuan ini diharapkan dapat menjadi dasar bagi pengembangan lebih lanjut dalam upaya meningkatkan profesionalisme guru dan kualitas pembelajaran di sekolah.

Abstract

Kawasan pesisir Teluk Tomini memiliki kekayaan budaya yang sangat berharga, termasuk tradisi Me’eraji yang unik dan sarat makna. Namun, seiring perkembangan zaman dan arus globalisasi, tradisi ini mulai terancam punah karena semakin minimnya minat generasi muda dalam mempelajari budaya lokal. Salah satu cara yang efektif untuk melestarikan dan menghidupkan kembali tradisi Me’eraji adalah melalui pelatihan Me’eraji berbasis Artificial Intelligence (AI). Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini diawali dengan sosialisasi kepada masyarakat Desa Sipatana, Kecamatan Buntulia. Setelah itu, pelatihan Me’eraji berbasis Artificial intelligence dilakukan bersama karang taruna. Dengan menggunakan teknologi Artificial intelligence, dibuat simulasi dan pelatihan yang inovatif dan kreatif. Hasil akhir dari kegiatan pelatihan ini diperoleh perubahan yang sesuai dengan target luaran yang telah ditetapkan yaitu meningkatnya minat anak-anak dalam mempelajari tradisi Me’eraji dan bertambahnya pengetahuan mereka terkait teknologi berupa Artificial intelligence. Seiring bertumbuhnya minat anak dalam mempelajari Me’eraji , teridentifikasi pula sikap memahami dan menghargai budaya lokal.

Abstract

Pelatihan hardskill dan softskill bagi penyandang disabilitas di Kota Gorontalo bertujuan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan dan membuka peluang kerja atau kewirausahaan. Metode yang digunakan adalah Participatory Action Research (PAR) yaitu sebuah pendekatan yang prosesnya bertujuan untuk pembelajaran dalam mengatasi masalah dan pemenuhan kebutuhan praktis masyarakat, serta produksi ilmu pengetahuan, dan proses perubahan sosial keagamaan. Hasil yang didapatkan dari kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini adalah Pelatihan hardskill difokuskan pada pengenalan jaringan komputer melalui Google Classroom dan video narasi di YouTube, mencakup materi seperti IP Address, TCP/IP, OSI 7 Layer, Routing, dan DNS. Pelatihan softskill mencakup keterampilan komunikasi, literasi informasi, berpikir kritis, dan belajar mandiri, yang relevan untuk meningkatkan aksesibilitas informasi, partisipasi sosial, dan peluang kerja.

Abstract

Pemberdayaan masyarakat melalui budidaya ikan bubara dijadikan salah satu upaya untuk memberdayakan masyarakat desa melalui kegiatan pemeliharaan dan pengembangan ikan bubara, sehingga dapat memberi hasil pada perbaikan kondisi ekonomi masyarakat. Maka dari itu sudah seharusnya usaha ini dilakukan dengan prinsip-prinsip pemberdayaan dan pengembangan yang berbasis masyarakat dalam meningkatkan ekonomi masyarakat setempat. Peran masyarakat sangat dibutuhkan sebagai pelaku utama dalam seluruh tahapan perencanaan, pelaksanaan, monitoring dan evaluasi kegiatan. Namun juga perlu adanya dukungan serta Kerjasama dari stakehoder lain seperti dinas terkait pemerintah daerah, pemerintah desa dan sektor swasta yang memiliki sumberdaya yang lebih besar dari segi finansial, kemitraan, informasi, pengetahuan, dan teknologi.

Abstract

 The purpose of this community service activity is to address common problems faced by high school students, particularly those at SMAN 1 Wonosari, namely their limited English-speaking ability. This problem arises from the lack of daily English communication and insufficient mastery of essential vocabulary. Overcoming this issue, the program aims to improve students’ speaking skills through classroom learning uses “Procedure Texts” as teaching material, contextualized within the students’ local cultural environment. This approach stimulates students’ thinking, facilitates idea expression, and builds confidence in speaking English. Moreover, it is expected to encourage peer influence and community engagement. The activity began with consultations with the school principal and class teachers, followed by the selection of suitable materials. Eclectic, Direct, and Indirect methods were applied, emphasizing individual speaking tasks using culturally relevant topics. A speaking assessment rubric was used to evaluate progress. Among 32 tenth-grade students, initial evaluation showed 26 received D category due to limited vocabulary and low fluency. After implementation, results improved significantly: 3 students achieved A, 16 obtained B, and 13 reached C categories. Comparing those two resutls of students’ speaking evaluation shows us that appying teaching material based on cultural context resulted high students’ ability in English speaking skills.

Abstract

This study evaluates a community service program focusing on megathrust earthquake mitigation and basic life support education at SMA Negeri 3 Gorontalo. Located in the North Sulawesi subduction zone, Gorontalo faces  significant seismic risks. Using a quasi-experimental design, 75 students participated in simulation-based learning and clinical skills training. Results showed a significant transformation in knowledge regarding specific megathrust hazards and improved psychomotor responses during evacuation drills. Furthermore, students successfully acquired basic life support skills, including cardiopulmonary resuscitation and splinting. The study concludes that simulation based education effectively enhances disaster resilience among adolescents. Recommendations include integrating local curriculum and conducting periodic simulations to ensure sustainability.

Abstract

Coastal Teacher Talks is a community service initiative designed to address professional isolation and gender disparities among educators in remote coastal areas of Tomini Bay. Targeting teachers particularly women in geographically marginalized schools, the program aims to strengthen collaborative leadership capacity and improve teaching quality through the establishment of peer-led Professional Learning Circles (PLCs). Using participatory, empowerment-based strategies, the initiative conducts needs assessments, capacity-building workshops, and bi-weekly collaborative teaching circles facilitated by trained teacher leaders. These circles provide structured platforms for dialogue, peer mentoring, reflective practice, and lesson study aligned with Merdeka Belajar principles. The results demonstrate increased teacher collaboration, enhanced confidence and leadership agency among women educators, and the emergence of sustainable, locally driven professional learning cultures. Participating teachers reported reduced professional isolation, stronger shared leadership practices, and improved lesson planning and classroom strategies, indicating that peer-led models can create high-impact, low-resource professional development solutions in coastal contexts.

Abstract

This community service program aimed to design communicative and needs-based English teaching materials through training and mentoring activities for junior high school English teachers. The program was conducted in response to problems in English teaching, particularly the limited use of communicative learning methods, teachers’ dependence on grammar-focused instruction, limited teaching materials, and students’ low motivation and English achievement. The objective of the program was to improve teachers’ knowledge and skills in developing learner centered and contextual English teaching materials based on needs analysis. The program applied a participatory approach through workshops, group discussions, hands-on practice, and continuous mentoring sessions. Participants were introduced to communicative language teaching principles, needs analysis techniques, and strategies for designing interactive learning materials. The mentoring process also assisted teachers in revising and implementing the materials in classroom practice. As a result, participants demonstrated improved understanding, creativity, confidence, and competence in developing relevant, interactive, and communicative English teaching materials.

Abstract

The coastal area of Teluk Tomini holds a valuable cultural heritage, including the unique and meaningful tradition of Me’eraji. However, with the passage of time and the wave of globalization, this tradition is at risk of fading due to the declining interest of younger generations in learning local culture. One effective way to preserve and revive the Me’eraji tradition is through AI-based Me’eraji training. This community service activity began with a socialization program for the residents of Sipatana Village, Buntulia District. Following this, AI-based Me’eraji training was conducted in collaboration with the village youth organization. By utilizing Artificial Intelligence technology, innovative and creative simulations and training sessions were developed. The outcome of this training resulted in changes that aligned with the predetermined targets, such as increasing children's interest in learning the Me’eraji tradition and enhancing their knowledge of AI technology. As children's interest in learning Me’eraji grew, so did their appreciation and understanding of local culture.

Abstract

Hard skills and soft skills training for people with disabilities in Gorontalo City aims to improve skills and open up employment or entrepreneurship opportunities. The method used is Participatory Action Research (PAR), which is an approach whose process aims at learning in overcoming problems and meeting the practical needs of society, as well as the production of knowledge, and the process of religiousness change. The results obtained from this community service activity are hard skills training focused on introducing computer networks through Google Classroom and narrative videos on YouTube, covering material such as IP Addresses, TCP/IP, OSI 7 Layer, Routing, and DNS. Soft skills training includes communication skills, information literacy, critical thinking, and independent learning, which are relevant to increasing information accessibility, social participation, and employment opportunities.
