Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of gamification in enhancing students' understanding of Qur’anic learning materials at SDIT Bina Insan Banyuresmi. The scope of this study includes the implementation of gamifikasi-based learning approaches within the context of Islamic elementary education. The research employed a quantitative method using a one-group pretest-posttest experimental design. The sample consisted of 25 sixth-grade students. A written test was used as the research instrument. Descriptive analysis showed an increase in the mean score from 77.84 to 84.60. The Wilcoxon Signed Ranks Test indicated a significance value of 0.003 (p < 0.05), confirming a significant difference between pretest and posttest scores. Although the average N-Gain score was affected by outliers, most students experienced moderate improvement. In conclusion, gamification has proven to be significantly effective in improving students' understanding of Qur’anic materials, particularly in fostering active and enjoyable learning environments. Abstract

The phenomenon of military barracks education, initiated by West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi in May 2025, has sparked controversy. This is primarily due to its involvement in coaching students with deviant behavior, including gadget use. Public discourse has emerged regarding the effectiveness of this military barracks education model as a response to a perceived discipline crisis, which emphasizes children's obedience to parents through a rigid system. This study aims to investigate whether the military barracks education approach aligns with the principles of Islamic Mindful Parenting. Islamic Mindful Parenting is a synthesis of Islamic parenting principles with mindfulness, designed to foster internal self-control in children. The research employs a quantitative approach with descriptive methods for data collection and analysis. Data was gathered through questionnaires completed by parents. The results indicate that most parents favored the educational content of military barracks and were interested in this approach. However, the explanations provided by parents contradicted the principles of Islamic Mindful Parenting. The rigid military approach can cause stress and insecurity in children, and hinder communication and the development of critical thinking. This contrasts with Islamic Mindful Parenting, which emphasizes empathy, compassion, and the development of character from within, by focusing on attentive listening, non-judgmental acceptance of self and child, awareness of one's own and the child's emotions, self-regulation in the parenting relationship, and a compassionate attitude towards oneself and the child.

Abstract

Islamic education is experiencing dynamic development in line with social changes in society, so it demands the development of a curriculum that is relevant and based on strong principles. One of the important principles in curriculum development is sociological principles, which link education and the needs of society. This research aims to analyze the contribution of sociological principles in the development of Islamic religious education curriculum. The method used is descriptive qualitative research with a library research approach. Data were collected from a variety of related literature and analyzed descriptively with a systematic and objective presentation. The results of the study show that sociological principles play a significant role in designing the Islamic religious education curriculum to be able to respond to the needs and challenges of the community. A curriculum developed based on this principle can form students who not only understand religious values, but also have social awareness, ethics, and norms that apply in society. Thus, the application of sociological principles in the development of Islamic religious education curriculum allows the creation of contextual learning that is in harmony with the social dynamics of Islamic society.

Abstract

Character education in early childhood is a fundamental aspect in the formation of attitudes, morals, and social values that will be carried throughout life. In this phase, children's cognitive, emotional, and social development takes place very rapidly so that it requires appropriate stimulation from the family and school environment. This study uses a library research approach by examining various sources of literature, both print and digital, that are relevant to the theme of early childhood character education. The data collection process is carried out through a systematic review of books, scientific articles, and related publications. The findings show that character education has a significant influence on early childhood behavior, especially in aspects of emotion management, social interaction, and basic understanding of moral values. Character education that is integrated in the family and school environment is able to support the development of positive behavior of children. Character education plays an important role in shaping early childhood behavior. Therefore, parents and educators are expected to pay special attention and consistency in their application so that positive values can be embedded from an early age.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of excellent school management at Pondok Pesantren Al ‘Ashr Al Madani. A qualitative approach was used with data collection techniques including observation and interviews with the principal (Al-Mudir) and the Head of Administration. The results show that the pesantren applies integrated and structured management across several areas: human resources, technology, facilities and infrastructure, financing, curriculum, and health services. Each aspect is implemented based on Islamic values, independence, and educational quality. The use of computer laboratories, a competency-based curriculum, and support from business units and agricultural land reflect managerial innovation. Involving students in maintaining facilities also strengthens character education. The study concludes that a value-based, integrated management approach can serve as a model for developing excellent schools in pesantren settings. The study recommends strengthening technological supervision and continuous professional development for educators.

Abstract

Education plays a strategic role in improving the quality of human resources while ensuring equal access to learning opportunities. However, teacher shortages remain a significant challenge, particularly for marginalized communities such as the children of Indonesian Migrant Workers (PMI) in Malaysia. This condition has led to the adoption of multigrade teaching, in which a single teacher is responsible for two or more grade levels within one classroom. This study aims to describe the strategies for managing multigrade classes at Sanggar Bimbingan PERMAI, Penang, as an adaptive response to limited educational resources. The research employed a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected through participatory observation, in-depth interviews with teachers and administrators, and documentation, then analyzed using Miles and Huberman’s interactive model consisting of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal that multigrade class management was carried out through a combination of flexibility and structured routines, utilizing strategies such as parallel teaching, independent learning activities, peer tutoring, and fair assessment. The main challenges include limited time, restricted classroom space, and heavy teacher workload. Nevertheless, multigrade practice was found to foster student independence, collaboration, and social responsibility. These findings highlight that multigrade teaching is not merely a response to teacher shortages but also holds potential as an inclusive pedagogical model relevant to both formal and non-formal education contexts.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the application of behaviorism theory in the learning of Islamic Religious Education at the elementary school level as an effort to shape students' religious behavior. A behaviorist approach that focuses on the relationship between stimulus and response emphasizes that learning is the result of observable and measurable behavioral changes. This study uses a literature study method by examining the basic concepts and principles of behaviorism which include habituation, positive and negative reinforcement, and punishment as a systematic learning strategy. The results of the study show that the application of behaviorism theory in PAI learning is effective in improving discipline, forming habits of behavior according to Islamic teachings, and strengthening students' ability to apply religious values in daily life. These findings confirm that behaviorism has a strong relevance to the educational goals of PAI in the early stages of child development. Thus, behavioristic approaches are recommended to be continuously optimized by educators through a learning design that is contextual, sustainable, and oriented towards Islamic character formation.

Abstract

This research explores Pondok Pesantren Darussalam's strategy in building institutional resilience based on Sufi spirituality amidst digital disruption. A descriptive qualitative approach was used, with data collection techniques including observation, documentation, interviews, and literature review, focusing on the perspectives of alumni students from Ma'had Aly Darussalam. The findings reveal four main strategic models: the study of the book Ihya' Ulumiddin, the establishment of Ma'had Aly Darussalam specializing in Tasawwuf wa Thariqatuhu, community service within the pesantren, and practicing sunnah fasting under the guidance of the pengasuh. The study of Ihya' Ulumiddin serves as a spiritual and moral foundation for students, fostering loyalty, maintaining moderation in religious understanding, and encouraging spiritual independence. The establishment of Ma'had Aly Darussalam is a concrete innovation to produce Sufi scholars and become a center for Sufi studies. Students' community service, both internal and external, strengthens the pesantren's image and alumni loyalty. The practice of sunnah fasting contributes to the development of disciplined character, self-control, and deeper spirituality. Furthermore, the pesantren utilizes digital technology for live streaming of book studies and events, expanding its missionary reach and strengthening community bonds. Thus, Pondok Pesantren Darussalam successfully integrates Sufi values with digital innovation, preserving tradition while remaining relevant and contributing in the modern era.

Abstract

Daily life is undergoing significant changes due to the rapid development of information technology, such as early childhood interactions and parenting patterns. Children prefer to play conventional games and interact with others thru devices like computers, tablets, and smartphones. This study examines previous research on how device exposure affects communication and language development in young children. The qualitative literature review method analyzes various documents and scientific sources about the impact of devices. The results show that excessive gadget use hinders children's language and communication development because it reduces social interaction and direct verbal stimulation with parents and the surrounding environment. Children who use uncontrolled devices receive passive stimulation without two-way interaction, which is an important factor in developing verbal skills. The risk of speech delay and socio-emotional disorders increases due to a lack of interaction with peers and adults. However, using devices with educational encouragement and the active participation of parents and educators can enhance cognitive and language skills. Time management for devices, content monitoring, and access activation are important ways to help children develop optimally. For devices to become learning aids, the active role of parents and teachers is needed in guiding the use of technology. A balanced approach to digital and face-to-face learning in the Society 5.0 era enhances students' interest and communication skills. Additionally, teaching children healthy gadget usage is important. This can be achieved by limiting duration, choosing beneficial content, and maintaining a balance between the digital and physical worlds. To support children's overall communication and language development, the use of technology and direct social interaction must be balanced.

Abstract

This study explores the implementation of transformational leadership among principals in Islamic Senior High Schools in Indonesia within the context of the digital era. The study aims to analyze how transformational leadership influences teacher motivation and performance, to identify the leadership roles of principals, and to examine the challenges and strategies applied in digital educational transformation. Employing a qualitative descriptive multi-case study design, data were collected through interviews, observations, and document analysis from two Islamic Senior High Schools located in Serang Regency and Serang City. The findings reveal that principals successfully applied the four dimensions of transformational leadership (idealized influence, inspirational motivation, intellectual stimulation, and individualized consideration) in guiding teachers through digital adaptation. They acted as motivators, facilitators, and innovators, fostering collaboration and professional growth through digital initiatives. The integration of Islamic moral values such as amanah (trustworthiness), adl (justice), and ihsan (excellence) enriched the leadership’s ethical and spiritual foundation. Despite facing challenges such as digital inequality, limited infrastructure, and resistance to change, the principals implemented adaptive strategies, including continuous professional development, mentoring, and spiritual reinforcement. The study concludes that transformational leadership grounded in Islamic ethics and digital competence significantly enhances teacher motivation and performance, offering a sustainable framework for educational transformation in the 21st century.
