ISOLEK: Jurnal Pendidikan, Pengajaran, Bahasa, dan Sastra menerbitkan manuskrip penelitian dalam Pendidikan, pengajaran, bahasa, sastra, dan linguistik. Jurnal ISOLEK menampilkan kebaruan penelitian dan signifikansi untuk kemajuan ilmiah di salah satu bidang manuskrip yang diterbitkan. Jurnal ini menerima kiriman dari seluruh dunia dan juga dari Indonesia. Naskah yang diterbitkan termasuk. Ilmu bahasa; fonologi, morfologi, sintaksis, analisis wacana, psikolinguistik, sosiolinguistik, dan analisis wacana kritis. Sastra: kajian sastra daerah, sastra Indonesia, kajian sastra asing, sastra anak, kajian sastra pendidikan karakter, dan kajian sastra lainnya. Bahasa dan Sastra Indonesia: pengembangan kurikulum, metode pembelajaran, materi pembelajaran, media pembelajaran, penilaian, pembelajaran bahasa Indonesia lintas kurikulum, teknologi informasi dan komunikasi dalam pembelajaran bahasa Indonesia, keterampilan berbahasa, dan analisis pembelajaran bahasa Indonesia lainnya. Naskah yang dikirimkan pada jurnal ISOLEK belum pernah dipublikasikan di manapun, baik cetak maupun elektronik. Penulis harus mengacu pada pedoman penulis sebelum mengirimkan naskah. Naskah yang dikirimkan kemudian akan dievaluasi dan diedit sesuai dengan format yang disediakan pengelola jurnal. ISOLEK diterbitkan dua kali setahun, setiap bulan Maret dan September oleh Program Studi Pendidikan Bahasa dan Sastra Indonesia, Fakultas Keguruan dan Ilmu Pendidikan, Universitas Islam Makassar. Artikel yang dipublikasikan dapat diakses dan diunduh secara gratis melalui Portal Jurnal Elektronik FKIP Universitas Islam Makassar.

Abstract

This study investigates the psychological impacts and prevention strategies of verbal bullying, focusing on its long-lasting effects on self-esteem and mental health, and its prevalence in school environments. The research aims to deepen understanding of verbal bullying dynamics, contributing factors, and effective countermeasures. Employing a mixed-methods approach, the study collects data through surveys, interviews, and observations from students and staff at UPT SPF SD Negeri Kapasa in Makassar. Quantitative analysis measures the incidence of verbal bullying, while qualitative analysis explores personal experiences and the effectiveness of an anti-bullying program implemented in the school. Results indicate a significant decrease in bullying instances and a positive shift in student behavior and awareness post-intervention, emphasizing the importance of sustained educational efforts and policy reinforcement to cultivate a respectful and empathetic school culture.

Abstract

Pemerolehan bahasa ibu adalah proses alami yang dipengaruhi oleh berbagai faktor, termasuk biologis, kognitif, dan lingkungan. Proses ini memiliki peran penting dalam perkembangan anak, baik dari segi intelektual, sosial, maupun budaya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memahami lebih dalam teori-teori psikolinguistik tentang pemerolehan bahasa ibu, mengidentifikasi faktor-faktor yang memengaruhi proses tersebut, serta menganalisis dampaknya terhadap perkembangan individu. Dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif berbasis kajian literatur, penelitian ini menelaah berbagai teori dan temuan sebelumnya terkait pemerolehan bahasa. Hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa pemerolehan bahasa ibu berlangsung melalui tahapan-tahapan tertentu, mulai dari fase pra-linguistik hingga kemahiran berbahasa yang kompleks. Faktor biologis seperti perkembangan otak, faktor sosial seperti pola komunikasi dalam keluarga, serta teknologi modern memiliki pengaruh besar dalam proses ini. Namun, tantangan seperti minimnya stimulasi bahasa, gangguan neurologis, serta perubahan pola interaksi akibat teknologi juga dapat menghambat perkembangan bahasa anak. Penelitian ini menegaskan bahwa pemerolehan bahasa ibu tidak hanya berdampak pada kemampuan berbahasa, tetapi juga berkontribusi terhadap perkembangan kognitif, penguatan ikatan sosial, dan keberlanjutan budaya. Oleh karena itu, pemahaman mendalam mengenai proses ini sangat penting untuk merancang strategi pendidikan bahasa yang lebih efektif.

Abstract

Sapaan santun merupakan salah satu bentuk komunikasi dan falsafah budaya yang mencerminkan nilai-nilai luhur masyarakat setempat. Penelitian ini berfokus pada penggunaan sapaan santun "Iye" dan "Tabe" dalam falsafah budaya suku Bugis-Makassar. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengungkapkan makna filosofis, fungsi sosial, serta peran sapaan tersebut dalam menjaga harmoni sosial dan budaya di masyarakat Bugis-Makassar. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan metode pengumpulan data melalui studi kepustakaan (literatur review) dan analisis dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sapaan "Iye" melambangkan penghormatan, persetujuan, dan kesantunan dalam berkomunikasi, sedangkan sapaan "Tabe" mencerminkan nilai penghargaan dan permohonan izin dalam interaksi sosial. Keduanya tidak hanya berfungsi sebagai alat komunikasi, tetapi juga sebagai cerminan nilai-nilai falsafah harga diri dan empati yang menjadi landasan utama dalam budaya Bugis-Makassar. Sapaan ini juga berperan penting dalam memperkuat hubungan sosial, mencegah konflik, dan membangun rasa saling menghormati di tengah masyarakat. Penelitian ini memberikan wawasan tentang pentingnya melestarikan sapaan santun sebagai bagian dari warisan budaya tak benda yang dapat memperkaya khazanah komunikasi antarbudaya di Indonesia.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the level of speed reading ability using skimming technique in Indonesian Language Subject of Fifth Grade Students at Bonto Baddo Tolo Kelara Elementary School, Jeneponto Regency. The type of research used is descriptive qualitative type. The subjects to be studied in this study were fifth grade students at Bonto Baddo Tolo Elementary School, Kelara District, Jeneponto Regency. The sample was 16 students. The data collection technique in the study was the test technique and observation sheet. The research instrument was the test material and test tools, while the data analysis technique in this study was the results of reading speed, reading comprehension, and calculating the overall average. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that overall the reading speed was 211 wpm, which is included in the good category. So the percentage of overall student understanding is 85%. So, the average ability to speed read using skimming technique of fifth grade students at Bonto Baddo Tolo Elementary School, Kelara District. Kelara, Jeneponto Regency is categorized as very good.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze news coverage regarding the internationalization of the Indonesian language in Antaranews.com. The focus of this research is to identify the representation of the Indonesian language within media discourse and to understand the construction of reality built through the news coverage. This study employs a qualitative approach using Norman Fairclough’s Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA) method. The data in this research consist of four news texts analyzed through Fairclough's three dimensions of CDA: the textual dimension, the discursive practice dimension, and the social practice dimension. Data collection was carried out through documentation techniques, while data validity was ensured through internal validity. Based on the results, it can be concluded that the news coverage of the internationalization of the Indonesian language on Antaranews.com constructs a discourse that emphasizes nationalism and pride in UNESCO’s recognition. In the textual dimension, the news narratives highlight national achievements and cultural diplomacy as the main factors behind UNESCO’s recognition. In the discursive practice dimension, discourse strategies are identified that aim to strengthen the legitimacy of national policies related to the internationalization of the Indonesian language. Meanwhile, in the social practice dimension, Antaranews.com coverage demonstrates how the media shape public understanding regarding the global position of the Indonesian language.

Abstract

This study examines the effectiveness of the application of the Jigsaw learning model on the short story writing skills of grade IX students at MTsS Al-Badar Kediri. Jigsaw is a cooperative learning model that encourages active participation, group cooperation, and a deeper understanding of the material. This study used an experimental method with two groups, namely the experimental group that applied the Jigsaw model and the control group that used conventional methods. The sample was selected purposively from grades IX-A and IX-B. Data collection was carried out through pretests, posttests, observations, and interviews. The results showed a significant increase in short story writing skills, especially in story structure, language use, creativity, and plot development. The t-test analysis confirmed that the Jigsaw model contributed positively to student learning outcomes. Based on these findings, it is recommended to strengthen the application of Jigsaw by emphasizing cooperation between students and the use of technology in learning.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the application of the influence of the brainstorming method in improving the speaking ability of class VIII students of SMP Negeri 25 Makassar totaling 22 students. The population of this study was class VIII students. The sample in this study was class VIII students and class governance with a total of 22 students consisting of 13 women and 9 men. Sampling was carried out in a simple way, namely by dividing groups and selecting students randomly. This study was conducted in two cycles, namely cycle I and cycle II. Each cycle was carried out according to the changes to be achieved between cycle I and cycle II whose components were interrelated. Data collection was carried out through observation of students' speaking abilities, then analyzed quantitatively. The results of the study showed that learning using the brainstorming method in class VIII-B students of SMP Negeri 25 Makassar, in cycle I did not experience a significant increase, both in the results of the recapitulation of speaking abilities in cycle I and in the results of the recapitulation of the influence of using the brainstorming method. Speaking ability is categorized as lacking, as seen from the percentage of achievement of 53.33%. In cycle II, there was a significant increase, both in the results of the recapitulation of speaking ability and the results of the recapitulation of the influence of the brainstorming method with a percentage achievement of 62.22% which was categorized as sufficient.

Abstract

Social constructions during Indonesia’s New Order era often shaped gender stereotypes that positioned women as self-sacrificing figures confined to domestic roles and economically dependent on men. This study aims to identify gender stereotypes attached to female characters and analyze their resistance to such stereotypes in the short story Siang Itu Panas Sekali, published in Femina magazine, edition of November 4, 1980, No. 196. Using a qualitative approach, this research applies content analysis with Mansour Fakih’s gender theory within a feminist literary framework. The findings reveal that the female character is portrayed as someone who sacrifices personal needs for the sake of her family. However, the story also illustrates resistance through the character’s involvement in social activities outside the home, financial independence, and assertiveness in confronting patriarchal control within personal relationships. The main character, Mira, is depicted as an educated, professionally active woman who is financially self-sufficient and firmly v oices her opinions to her husband. The conclusion of this study indicates that the short story not only reflects the prevailing gender norms of the 1980s but also functions as a narrative space of resistance, offering an alternative representation of women as autonomous and empowered individuals.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the improvement of listening skills through cartoon film media for class VIII students at MTs DDI Kalukuang. The approach used in this research is Classroom Action Research. This research focuses on problems related to listening skills using cartoon film media. The data obtained was carried out in two cycles, namely cycle I and cycle II with stages of planning, implementation, observation and reflection. The subjects of this research were class VIII students at MTs DDI Kalukuang Makassa, totaling 23 students consisting of 8 male students and 15 female students. The data collection technique uses observation to assess students' listening skills and the results of students' writing abilities, and the results of their listening skills and documentation of students' work results, while the criteria for success are in terms of the results achieved in class VIII MTs DDI Kalukuang in this study are the average scores. The average listening skills of students increased from cycle I to cycle II reaching 75 from the number of students who got a score of > 75 (KKM Listening Skills). The results of the research show that students' listening skills by paying attention to the average value of the aspects of assessing effectiveness in paying attention to explanation are sufficient, students' ability to understand the material presented by the teacher is sufficient, attitudes in receiving learning material are sufficient, students' concentration resistance is adequate, and the results of the research cycle I reached 66 and in cycle II it increased to 80 and had met the minimum completeness criteria (KKM) standards targeted by researchers

Abstract

This research analyzes the structure of active sentences in the fairy tale “Asal Mula Tabiat Musang” published in TEMPO media, focusing on the classification of types of active sentences to understand how syntactic structures contribute to the delivery of narratives. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with literature study technique. The analysis of active sentences includes the identification of ekatransitive (S+P+O), bitransitive (S+P+O+O), and semitransitive (S+P+(O)+(C)+(K)) sentences. The results of the analysis of the 64 sentences in the fairy tales show that the majority are ekatransitive active sentences (24 sentences or 37.5%), followed by sentences that do not belong to the active category (30 sentences or 46.88%), and 10 semitransitive sentences (15.63%). No bitransitive active sentences were found (0%). This finding indicates a tendency to use sentences that focus on actions with a single object, as well as a lack of sentence constructions that involve object-giving or indirect relationships. Variation in sentence structure is maintained by the presence of semitransitive sentences that provide additional descriptive details and context in the narrative.
