Abstract

Crab is one of protein resource with high economic value. The vertical system is a crab farming method that provides several advantages including increasing space utility, minimizing crab mortality that is affected by cannibalism, and improving precision farming. As a continuation of 2024 research under the strategic collaboration (Katalis) scheme, a community service project has been conducted by implementing the Internet of Things (IoT) based water monitoring system to support precision farming in vertical system-based crab farming. Surabaya crab supermarket has become the partner in this community service. The objective of this activity is to implement this prototype in the real crab farming environment to investigate its effectiveness. This activity also gives experience for students at Telkom University that are involved in this project of implementing the developed precision farming system in the real environment despite the laboratories scale environment. Moreover, this project is also important to give insight from the crab farmer regarding the real problems that occur in crab farming. In the future, the system can be expanded by adding more features including the machine learning method to give predictions regarding the water quality and the growth of the crabs.

Abstract

Chronic Energy Deficiency (CED) in pregnant women remains a pressing nutritional issue in Indonesia, particularly in Samarinda City. This community program aimed to improve the nutritional status of pregnant women with or at risk of CED through the provision of local food-based supplementary feeding (PMT) and the empowerment of community health cadres. The intervention took place at Bengkuring Health Center from April to December 2024, targeting 40 pregnant women. Activities included cadre training, preparation of nutritious local meals, and monitoring of Body Mass Index (BMI) before and after the intervention. Results indicated a significant increase in average BMI (p < 0.05), although the duration of PMT was not significantly associated with BMI improvement. The program successfully engaged the community in health-focused food preparation and raised awareness among pregnant women about the importance of maternal nutrition. These findings support the effectiveness of local PMT as a tool for both nutritional intervention and sustainable community empowerment. In the long term, such initiatives can help reduce the prevalence of CED and contribute to healthier pregnancy outcomes. Continued collaboration across sectors is essential to ensure the sustainability of this program.

Abstract

The phenomenon of child victims of sexual violence increased during COVID-19 from 2021 to 2022. This indicates that COVID-19 is a vulnerable and dangerous situation because children live near their families and interact with social environments outside of school. Child victims of sexual violence are often difficult to obtain information about the legal incidents that befell them. This is due to the limited vocabulary of children and their vulnerability to threats from perpetrators, which can result in psychological trauma for the victims. The objectives of this community service program are: first, to map the types of violence affecting child victims; second, to prevent and address child victims of sexual violence. The community service methods used include: a pre survey of the locations and situations that will be the target of community service; second, observation and interviews with neighborhood and local residents' association officials who include young families with children; and third, offline community service and discussions with young families with children. The results obtained include a diversity of types of violence against child victims, and, fundamentally, children's mental and physical development can be affected in the future. Efforts to prevent and handle child victims of sexual violence require obtaining statements from child victims in a language that children understand and involving parties who are trusted and competent in addressing the basic needs of child victims of sexual violence.

Abstract

This community service program aims to improve the competency of high school and vocational high school arts and culture teachers in Tasikmalaya Regency and City in developing creative, culture-based learning media. This program was motivated by the declining understanding of students about traditional Indonesian architecture due to the lack of engaging and interactive learning media. The activity was carried out through a hybrid workshop method that combined online and offline sessions. A total of 30 participants from various schools participated in the training focused on creating Pop-Up and Augmented Reality (AR) media to visualize traditional Indonesian houses in arts and culture learning. Data were collected through pre- and post-training questionnaires, observations, and interviews, then analyzed descriptively to measure the increase in participant competency. The results showed that 85% of participants experienced an increased understanding of the concept of Pop-Up and AR media, 90% were able to create Pop-Up media independently, and 95% assessed the workshop material as relevant to their learning needs. The integration of Pop-Up and AR media has proven effective in combining manual creativity and digital literacy, creating more interactive, contextual, and technology-integrated learning. This program demonstrates that collaboration between universities and MGMP can produce sustainable cultural learning innovations. It is recommended that similar training be developed in other regions to strengthen teachers' cultural literacy and digital competencies.

Abstract

This study examines the effectiveness of collaboration between the Local Government and the Regional People’s Representative Council (DPRD) in the formulation of regional regulations (Peraturan Daerah or Perda) in Cirebon City. The formulation of regional regulations is an essential element of local governance and reflects the quality of policy coordination, democratic participation, and institutional capacity at the regional level. However, in practice, collaboration between the executive and legislative bodies often faces obstacles such as overlapping interests, limited synchronization of programs, and differing policy priorities. The purpose of this research is to analyze the level of effectiveness of collaboration between the Cirebon City Government and the DPRD in the process of drafting and determining regional regulations, and to identify supporting and inhibiting factors in the collaboration process. The study applies a qualitative-descriptive approach supported by primary data collected through in-depth interviews, document analysis, and observation. The theoretical foundation of this study is based on the concept of collaborative governance (Ansell & Gash, 2007), which emphasizes participation, consensus, and joint decision-making as the main pillars of inter-institutional cooperation. The findings indicate that the collaboration between the Local Government and DPRD in Cirebon City has been moderately effective. The two institutions have established routine communication, mutual consultation, and coordination forums. However, collaboration has not yet reached an optimal level due to differences in political orientation, limited bureaucratic capacity, and inadequate public involvement in the early stages of policy formulation. The study recommends strengthening the collaboration framework through improved communication mechanisms, transparent consultation procedures, and capacity-building programs for legislative and executive members. This research contributes to the understanding of collaborative governance within Indonesia’s decentralized administrative system. It highlights that effective collaboration between political and bureaucratic actors is not only a procedural requirement but also a fundamental condition for the success of democratic governance at the regional level.

Abstract

Tension and stress during competition often lead to changes in psychological functioning, such as reduced concentration, loss of focus, increased anxiety, or, from a somatic perspective, increased muscle tension. Mental health can be affected by tension, which is seen as a result of physical interactions. Self-talk is a "strategy" employed by every athlete, whether verbalized or simply thought. Muscle tension is generally associated with stress, anxiety, and fear, as part of a process that helps our bodies prepare for potentially dangerous situations. The methods used included psychological education on self-talk and progressive muscle relaxation, progressive muscle relaxation practice, discussions, mentoring, and data collection on the athletes' mental health. The results of the community service research, as shown in the table, categorize 11 swimmers based on their mental health: 6 athletes categorized as moderate, and 5 athletes as low. Athletes with moderate mental health are considered to have good emotional, psychological, and social well-being, which influences how a person thinks, feels, and acts, including their ability to cope with the pressures of competition. Conversely, athletes with low mental health are classified as having good mental health.

Abstract

Desa Kemetul, Kecamatan Susukan is one of 208 villages developed into tourist villages in Kabupaten Semarang. Desa Kemetul is an area rich in agricultural products. Cassava and taro crops in this village are often processed into chips and serve as a source of income for residents. Common problems that often arise with chip products are the remaining oil content in the chips after frying and inappropriate product packaging. Thus, it reduces the quality and shelf life of the chip product. This Community Service activity focused on improving the chip production process at the Jago MSME in Desa Kemetul. The activity began with discussions and coordination with the local government and Jago MSME owner as partner. The activities included the implementation of an oil spinner machine and improved packaging with a portable sealer and silica gel. The application of appropriate technology can improve the chips quality and shelf life of products. It as well increases production capacity, profit potential, and support the development of Desa Kemetul as a tourist village.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of supervision on employee work discipline at the Department of Housing, Settlement Areas, and Land Affairs of Cirebon Regency. Supervision is defined as an organizational control mechanism consisting of direct and indirect supervision, while work discipline includes preventive and corrective discipline. This research employed a quantitative approach using a saturated sampling technique, involving all 79 employees as respondents. Data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using descriptive statistics and simple linear regression. The results indicate that the level of supervision is categorized as “good,” with an average score of 3.70, while employee work discipline is categorized as “high,” with an average score of 3.85. The regression analysis confirms that supervision has a positive and significant influence on employee discipline. These findings highlight that strengthening supervision—both direct and indirect—plays a crucial role in improving employee discipline. The study contributes to the development of internal supervision policies for local government agencies.

Abstract

The coastal city of Semarang faces serious challenges in the form of limited land and the threat of flooding, which reduce agricultural productivity. These conditions have prompted the implementation of urban farming-based cultivation innovations as an adaptation strategy. This community service research aims to increase the capacity of the Barokah Women Farmers Group (KWT) in Banjardowo Village. The activities were carried out participatively through six main stages, namely socialisation, construction of urban farming installations, training in planting media production, training in seedling planting, mentoring, and evaluation. The results of the activities showed an increase in the knowledge and skills of members in horticultural cultivation relevant to limited urban land. In addition, these activities strengthened the social cohesion of the group through a spirit of mutual cooperation and collaboration. The urban farming programme at KWT Barokah has proven effective in enhancing technical capacity, empowering women, and strengthening local food security. This programme also supports the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly points 2, 11, and 12.
