Abstract

Digital-based learning is a transformation of education.  Teachers can now distribute lesson materials in a more effective and interesting manner thanks to a variety of tools and platforms. Among the most notable innovations in this area is is the use of e-modules, particularly flipbook-based e-modules. Students can immediately engage with the curriculum, explore, and develop their creativity in this more dynamic and interactive learning environment. The purpose of this study is to examine how flipbook-based IPAS e-modules can be used to enhance students' creativity. This research method employs SLR (Systematic Literature Review) following the PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Review and Meta-Analyses) guidelines, which involves analyzing several articles related to how the use of flipbook-based e-modules can enhance students' creativity, thereby achieving the expected learning outcomes, especially in the subject of IPAS. In order to find relevant publications for this literature review, the Publish or Perish (PoP) tool, which is indexed by Google Scholar, was used. Title, abstract, introduction, methods, results, discussions, and conclusions are the seven components of the PRISMA concept, which was used to assess the relevant articles after they were found using the requested keywords. The PoP program that is connected with Google Scholar has identified 25 out of 305 articles. The results of the study show that using e-modules based on flipbooks is able to increase students' creativity and produce the desired learning results. The use of flipbook-based e-modules certainly shows great potential in supporting more innovative and effective education.       Keywords: e-module, flipbook, student creativity, IPAS, teaching materials. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.23960/jpmipa/v25i4.pp2029-2051

Abstract

Scientific literacy is essential skills that students must master in the 21st century. This study aims to examine the effect of the Group Investigation (GI) learning model on improving science literacy in Middle School students on thermal expansion. The research uses a pre-experimental method with a one-group pretest-posttest design. The sample consisted of one class selected through purposive sampling, namely class VII I at SMP Negeri 5 Yogyakarta. The data collection method involved using a test with a science literacy test in the form of multiple-choice questions. Data analysis was conducted using statistical tests to determine the differences before and after implementing the GI learning model. The study results indicate that the Group Investigation (GI) learning model can improve students' science literacy on thermal expansion. The enhancement in science literacy scores for indicators such as explaining phenomena scientifically, evaluating and designing scientific investigations, and interpreting data and evidence scientifically showed increases of 35.1%, 40.02%, 22.08%, and 39.98%, respectively. The paired sample T-test results indicated that the GI learning model significantly affected science literacy and its indicators. The N-gain test results showed that the GI learning model positively affected science literacy, with the indicators achieving scores of 0.42, 0.64, 0.39, and 0.29, categorized as moderate, moderate, moderate, and low, respectively. The calculated Cohen's d value of 1.457024 falls within the huge category based on Sawilowsky's (2009) criteria. Abstract

Indonesian students' creative thinking skills, as assessed by PISA 2022, were significantly below the average. This study evaluated the implementation of problem-based learning (PBL) in supporting the development of creative thinking skills among students at SMP Negeri 2 Gamping, Yogyakarta. A qualitative approach with a case study design involved three science teachers and eighth-grade students. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and document analysis. Validity was analyzed through data triangulation (observations, interviews, and documentation) and peer discussions. The findings indicated that problem-based learning had a positive implementation, although significant challenges remained, such as insufficient planning, non-contextual teaching media, and limited scaffolding. The teachers frequently used simple investigations that did not fully encourage deep idea exploration. The assessment was predominantly summative and did not comprehensively evaluate students' creative processes. This study recommended a more structured problem-based learning approach, contextual teaching media, and process-oriented formative assessment to foster students' creativity. Further research was suggested to explore the long-term impact of this strategy and the integration of educational technology.      Keywords: contextual media, creative thinking skills, problem-based learning, science investigation, case study.

Abstract

This study aims to develop scientific literacy-based cognitive e-assessments on chemical bonds and describe the validity, teacher responses, and student responses to the developed e-assessment. The research design used in this study was a research and development (R&D) design according to Gall, Borg, & Gall (1996). The instruments used in this study were expert validation questionnaires, teacher response questionnaires, and student response questionnaires. The data obtained from validators, teachers, and students were then analyzed by descriptive statistical analysis method. This scientific literacy-based cognitive e-assessment uses 4 aspects of scientific literacy, namely aspects about the knowledge needed for intelligent participation in science-based social problems, aspects about the ability to think critically about science and dealing with scientific expertise, aspects about understanding science and its applications, and aspects about understanding science and its applications. knowledge of the risks and benefits of science. This e-assessment was created to measure students' scientific literacy. The results of expert validation and teacher responses on aspects of content suitability, construction aspects, and readability aspects indicate a very feasible category. The results of student responses on the construction aspect and the readability aspect showed the criteria were very feasible. Thus, the scientific literacy-based cognitive E-assessment on the chemical bonding material developed can be said to be valid and feasible to use. Keywords: cognitive e-assessment, chemical bonding, scientific literacy.DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.23960/jpmipa/v23i4.pp1320-1327
