Abstract

The Value of Local Wisdom in Developing Indigenous Counseling. Objectives: This study aims to obtain a critical analysis of local culture-based counseling with a systematic review as a method. Method: This research uses an article search engine sourced from a database; spinger, sagepub and doaj. Literature review found 5 journals related to indigenous culture and cultural therapy with a qualitative approach. Based on the criteria of inclusion and exclusion as a material consideration in selecting articles. Finding: The results obtained indicate that culture provides an important meaning in the counseling process, because counseling is basically a cultural gathering. To understand culture, therapists need to understand what is normative in that cultural group. Conclusion: By understanding the cultural aspects of each individual, it is possible to design approaches that accommodate the power of culture with counseling theories that are adaptive to the culture in which counseling is practiced. Keywords: local wisdom, counseling, literature review. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.23960/jpp.v10.i3.202002

Abstract

Objective: The purpose of this study is to evaluate the development of Telkom Purwokerto middle school's new student admissions management procedure. Method: This study adopts a descriptive method, which aims to accurately portray the current state of the phenomena or situation under investigation. The Organizational Process Management (OPM) process area from the Business Process Maturity Model (BPMM) is employed at the third maturity level in this study. The interview yields a score between 0 and 5 that represents the Vocational School's assessment of how far along in the process the candidate is. Finding: This success yields a discrepancy for each inquiry, with the goal of gauging how well OPM Level 3 maturity is met and pinpointing where improvements may be made. Overall, the PPDB process has not yet reached the OPM-Level 3 maturity level due to the presence of practices that have not been implemented or have not yet reached the stage of continuous improvement. Conclusion: Therefore, the need to establish and implement the process consistently to move towards continuous improvement is a necessary suggestion for enhancement. Keywords: new student admission, the maturity model for business processes, third-level maturity, management of organizational procedures.DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.23960/jpp.v13.i3.202316

Abstract

Modelling the Influence of Bridging Course on the Accounting Performance of the University Students Using Educational Data Mining. Objectives: This study intends to determine the level of performance of the students in their Bridging Course (BC) and Accounting Education (AE) courses, and to model their significant influence. Methods: Descriptive and Predictive Correlation research design was used. The Educational Data Mining technique was utilized to extract data from the database of the university. Out of 331 datasets extracted, only 281 were included in the analysis, where datasets with no grades, and with dropped marks were excluded. The datasets are the grades of the students enrolled in BC and AE 113 and 114 for the school year, 2018–2019 and 2019–2020. Findings: Results showed a very good rating of the student’s performance in all courses both bridging course and accounting education courses where it revealed a positive and linear relationship. Moreover, the model shows that an increase in the performance in the BC is an increase also in their performance in their AE courses. Conclusion: The study proved that the curriculum is serving its purpose in rendering the highest possible opportunity for students to learn basic and even advanced accounting education. Keywords: accounting performance, bridging course, educational data mining, modelling.DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.23960/jpp.v11.i3.202103

Abstract

Wetlands: 3D Mapstory Application to Improve Students’ Learning Outcomes: Effective or Ineffective?. Objectives: The development of learning media in the era of Education 4.0 can be measured by technological innovation. However, limited time and funds have hindered lecturers and students from various higher education institutions in Indonesia from experiencing direct field practice, especially in the wetlands in South Kalimantan, hailed as one of Indonesia's natural laboratories for wetlands. The development of the Wetlands: 3D Mapstory answers students' conditions to become more familiar with the wetland environment without coming directly to South Kalimantan. The aim is to effectively use the Wetlands: 3D Mapstory to concretize the abstract concept of wetlands to improve students’ learning outcomes. Methods: The research development using the Luther model is limited to the testing stage. It is designed using 3D maps from satellite imagery using ArcGIS and combined with photos and learning materials on wetlands. The validation uses expert judgment on material and media aspects. Effectiveness test using paired sample t-test to analyze effective or ineffective Wetlands: 3D Mapstory Application to improve learning outcomes. Findings: The results show that the Wetlands: 3D Mapstory was developed as an Android-based application. This application was declared feasible and effective for improving student learning outcomes related to developing wetland areas in the Geography Education Study Program at Lambung Mangkurat University. So, the development of Wetlands: 3D Mapstory can fill the gap in learning media geography to improve the quality of lectures. Conclusion: Wetlands: 3D Mapstory Applications are feasible and practical for exploring wetlands in South Kalimantan and enhancing students’ learning outcomes. The implications of the results of this research strengthen and increase the variety of learning media to support learning activities and outcomes in universities. Keywords: wetlands, learning outcomes, 3d mapstory, application, effective.
