Abstract

Alternative assessment is a more authentic and comprehensive assessment method compared to traditional assessment, but its implementation faces various challenges so that research is needed to answer these problems. This study aims to analyze the perceptions of teachers in Namrole District, South Buru Regency, Maluku about the obstacles to implementing alternative assessments in learning. This study uses a survey method with a quantitative descriptive approach, involving 62 teachers as respondents. Data collected through a questionnaire with seven dimensions, namely teacher understanding of alternative assessments, teacher understanding of alternative instruments, availability of supporting facilities, teacher professional development, efficiency of compiling alternative assessments, budget/funding support and colleagues/leaders and workload. The data collected were then analyzed descriptively. The results showed that 76.26% of teachers understood alternative assessments, but only 66.77% had the skills to design them. As many as 74.84% of teachers understood the assessment instruments, while 67.42% of teachers stated that the facilities and infrastructure in schools supported the implementation of alternative assessments. However, 66.21% of teachers have limited access to professional training, and 70.73% of teachers stated that efficiency in preparing alternative assessments is still a challenge. Although 70.06% of teachers agree that financial support, colleagues and leaders support implementation and as many as 71.45% of teachers are aware of challenges in implementing alternative assessments, in terms of workload. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that junior high school teachers in Namrole District still need assistance in preparing and implementing alternative assessments in learning.

Abstract

Human life is inherently shaped by social interactions, and this is particularly evident in agricultural activities, where coffee farmers are closely linked to social relationships with toke (middlemen). In the context of coffee farming, farmers establish cooperative relationships with toke to market their crops. Additionally, farmers rely on various natural resources essential for sustaining their agricultural activities. Over time, this interaction evolves into a patron-client bond. This study aims to analyze and describe the development of patron-client relationships between coffee farmers in Panji Mulia I Village, Bukit District, Bener Meriah Regency. The research utilizes a descriptive qualitative approach, employing fieldwork to collect data. Methods of data collection included observations, interviews, and documentation, with purposive sampling techniques used to select the informants. The theoretical framework applied in this research is James C. Scott's Patron-Client theory. The findings indicate that the five forms of patron-to-client flows provided by toke to farmers include: basic subsistence livelihood, crisis subsistence guarantee, protection, brokerage and influence, and collective patron services. Furthermore, there is also a flow from clients to patrons, with farmers offering labor and expertise in support of toke’s activities. In conclusion, the patron-client relationship between toke and coffee farmers in Panji Mulia I Village is collaborative. This relationship creates a reciprocal bond that benefits both parties, built upon mutual trust and loyalty.

Abstract

This study investigates the impact of the Bikel SIN-KB program on improving the reflective practices of teachers and school principals in primary schools, focusing on enhancing teaching quality and student outcomes through the development of learning communities and the application of the Inquiry Cycle in Community Learning. Conducted in 18 primary schools in Mojowarno, Jombang, Indonesia, the research used a qualitative approach with action research methodology, consisting of four stages: planning, action, observation, and reflection. Data collected through interviews, observations, and document analysis revealed significant improvements in teachers' and principals' skills in developing learning communities and applying reflective practices. The implementation of the Inquiry Cycle fostered collaboration and problem-solving among educators, which ultimately led to better teaching practices and student achievement. The study also emphasized the need for continuous professional development tailored to the specific needs of each school and classroom. The findings suggest that the Bikel SIN-KB program effectively supports reflective teaching practices and collaboration, contributing to enhanced educational practices. Future research should consider expanding the scope to include more schools and examine the long-term impact of reflective practices on student performance.

Abstract

Hepatitis B is a clinical or pathological condition that can be acute or chronic, lasting at least six months without recovery, and is characterized by varying degrees of liver inflammation and necrosis. Several factors contribute to the onset of hepatitis B, including family history, transmission through blood or bodily fluids, and the use of contaminated tools. The more individuals understand hepatitis B, the more proactive they are in preventing it, while a lack of understanding increases the likelihood of contracting the disease. A history of blood transfusions is another risk factor, particularly when blood products or equipment used in transfusions are contaminated with HBV. This study aims to identify variables associated with the prevalence of hepatitis B using a cross-sectional design, with a sample size of 56 individuals. Univariate and bivariate analyses were conducted to examine the relationship between family history, knowledge, and blood transfusions with the incidence of hepatitis B. The results revealed significant relationships between family history, knowledge, and blood transfusions with the occurrence of hepatitis B. These findings emphasize the importance of enhancing awareness to reduce the risk of hepatitis B and provide valuable references for future research in this field.

Abstract

This study investigates the relationship between online gaming behavior and the incidence of insomnia among students at SMA Negeri 22 Seram Bagian Barat. The rapid development of technology and internet accessibility has led to the increasing popularity of online games, especially among teenagers. While online gaming can serve as an enjoyable and beneficial pastime, prolonged exposure can lead to addiction, causing negative impacts on physical and mental health, particularly sleep disturbances such as insomnia. This research uses a cross-sectional analytic design with 118 students as participants, and data were collected using questionnaires. The study explores how knowledge, attitudes, and parental involvement influence online gaming behavior and insomnia. Statistical analysis using Chi-Square tests revealed significant relationships between both knowledge and attitudes toward gaming and insomnia, while no significant relationship was found between parental involvement and insomnia. The findings suggest that while students are aware of the negative effects of excessive gaming, their behavior is often influenced by peer interactions, leading to disrupted sleep patterns. It is recommended that schools, parents, and communities collaborate to educate teenagers on managing gaming time and maintaining a healthy sleep routine. This study also highlights the need for further research with a broader sample and the inclusion of other factors, such as social media use and academic stress, to provide a more comprehensive understanding of the factors influencing teenage insomnia.

Abstract

This study explores the synergistic relationship between triangulation and domain analysis and how their integration can improve the overall quality of qualitative research. Triangulation enhances trustworthiness by validating findings through comparisons of data collected from multiple sources, methods, or investigators. Meanwhile, domain analysis, rooted in ethnographic semantics, offers a systematic way to uncover the meaning and structure embedded in the validated data. When applied together, these two approaches enable researchers to generate findings that are both credible and rich in interpretation. Triangulation addresses issues of reliability and bias, ensuring that conclusions are supported by diverse evidence. Domain analysis then deepens understanding by identifying semantic relationships and constructing relevant cultural or conceptual domains directly from participants’ perspectives. This study employs a Narrative Literature Review method to synthesize theoretical and methodological insights, building a conceptual link between methodological rigor and interpretative depth. The results are expected to provide guidance for researchers in improving credibility, dependability, and confirmability in qualitative research. Overall, integrating triangulation and domain analysis offers a strong foundation for producing meaningful and trustworthy interpretations, thereby contributing to both methodological strengthening and theoretical development in qualitative inquiry.
