This study aims to determine the Body Mass Index (BMI) levels and waist circumference of Belly Dance participants at Sanggar Purnama. This research employed a descriptive quantitative method using a total sampling technique, involving 15 active Belly Dance participants. The instruments used included BMI measurements and waist circumference. The results showed that most participants (40%) fell into the obesity category I, 26.67% were overweight, 26.67% were in the normal range, and 6.67% were classified as obesity category II. Regarding waist circumference, 53% of participants were within the normal range, while 47% exceeded the normal threshold for women (>80 cm), indicating central obesity. These findings suggest that although Belly Dance is regularly practiced, not all participants achieved ideal body weight or waist circumference. This highlights the importance of a holistic approach to weight management, incorporating regular physical activity, a balanced diet, and a healthy lifestyle. This study contributes to the understanding of Belly Dance’s effectiveness on body composition and participant health and serves as a foundation for future health intervention strategies.

Knowing students’ motor skills is an integral part of an education. This study aims to determine the level of motor ability of students in the Extracurricular of State Junior High School 2 Bringin . This research is a quantitative descriptive research. The method of this research is by test and measurement techniques. The population in this study is all students of State Junior High School 2 Bringin which totals 120 students who were taken based on purposive sampling techniques, with inclusion criteria that have been determined by the researcher. So that the sample in this study amounted to 40 people. The instruments in this study used the Motor Ability Test which included the 4 x 10 meter Shutlle-run test (agility), the 1-meter distance ball throw test with a wall (coordination), the Stork Stand Positional Balance test (balance), the 30-meter sprint test (speed), with a validity value of 0.930 and reliability of 0.870. Data analysis uses descriptive analysis expressed in the form of percentages. The results of this study show that the motor skills of students in the Extracurricular of State Junior High School 2 Bringin are in the good category. This can be seen in the results of the categories “very lacking” by 6.98%, “less” by 30.23%, “sufficient” by 25.58%, “good” by 32.56%, and “very good” by 4.65%. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that gross motor skills in extracurricular students have a good level of skills, but there are some students who are still very lacking. So this makes the implication in this study that the role of teachers in providing stimulus in an effort to improve gross motor skills in students is very important, because the provision of motor stimuli to children will make children more active and reduce stunting rates in Indonesia.

This study aims to compare the effect of aerobic dance accompanied by traditional and modern music on increasing the cardiovascular endurance of students. The research design used was a quasi-experiment with a pretest-posttest group design. The sample consisted of 40 students of Makassar State University who were divided into two groups: an aerobic dance group with traditional South Sulawesi music and an exercise group with popular modern music. The exercise was carried out for six weeks, three times a week, for 45 minutes per session. Data were collected through a multistage test (beep test) to measure VO₂ max and analyzed using parametric statistical tests. The results showed that both groups experienced a significant increase in cardiovascular endurance (p < 0.05). However, a greater increase occurred in the traditional music group (Δ = 3.34) than in the modern music group (Δ = 2.39). These findings indicate that traditional music accompaniment is more effective in increasing cardiovascular endurance and providing added value in the context of preserving local culture.

This study aims to determine the influence of sleep quality on cardiorespiratory physical Fitness in Futsal Student Activity Unit STKIP Pasundan Cimahi athletes. This research is a Correlational Descriptive research using survey and experimental methods with data collection techniques using the PSQI questionnaire to measure sleep quality and the Bleep Test to measure cardiorespiration in STKIP Pasundan Cimahi Futsal Student Activity Unit athletes. In this study, 20 athletes were sampled using the sampling method, namely total sampling. Based on the problems studied and the type of correlational descriptive research, data is used to correlate sleep quality and bleep test results to measure cardiorespiration. The results of maintaining good sleep quality on the physical fitness of Futsal Student Activity Unit STKIP Pasundan Cimahi athletes were obtained by calculating the correlation test that the sig. 0.380 > 0.05. These results show a significant negative relationship between sleep quality and cardiorespiratory physical fitness variables. This negative relationship means that the lower the level of sleep quality, the higher the level of cardiorespiratory physical fitness.

This study aims to analyze the relationship between gender stereotypes and student participation in physical education subjects at state junior high school 1 Hulu Sungai Tengah. The method used is correlational research with a quantitative approach. The research sample consisted of 72 female students in grades 7 to 9, who were selected using the Slovin formula. Data was collected through a closed questionnaire based on the Likert scale, this questionnaire consisted of 35 statements, which included 22 positive statements and 13 negative statements that had been tested for validity and reliability. Data analysis used the Pearson Product Moment correlation test. The results showed a significant relationship between gender stereotypes and female student participation in physical education subjects, with a correlation coefficient value of 0.463 > a table of 0.229. Strong gender stereotypes contribute to low female participation in certain physical activities, especially big ball games. The conclusion of this study emphasizes the need for teachers to design a more inclusive and gender-sensitive sports learning strategy to increase student involvement in physical education learning subjects so that the lack of student participation can be overcome.

Anemia is a global health problem that affects the physical fitness, cognitive function, and academic performance of adolescents. In Indonesia, the prevalence of anemia in adolescents is still relatively high. One of the factors contributing to this condition is the lack of physical activity that could potentially support the increase of hemoglobin levels. This study aims to observe if there is a significant effect of morning walking activity on the hemoglobin levels of adolescents with anemia at Al-Amanah Cileunyi Junior High School. This study used quantitative methods with a quasi-experimental approach and a one-group pre-test and post-test design. A sample of 30 people was selected using a purposive sampling technique from a population of 57 students in class VIII based on inclusion and exclusion criteria. Interventions in the form of morning walking activities were held twice a week for three weeks. Measurement of hemoglobin levels was collected before and after the intervention using the EasyTouch GCHb digital device. Data analysis used the Wilcoxon signed-rank test and the Mann-Whitney U test. There was a significant increase in hemoglobin levels after the intervention (P < 0.05), and there was a significant difference between male and female. Morning walking has a positive effect on increasing the hemoglobin level of adolescents with anemia. It is recommended that this activity be implemented as a promotive and preventive strategy in the school environment.
