Abstract

Fires are among the most common emergencies that may occur in school environments and pose significant risks to students and school personnel if appropriate preparedness measures are not in place. Fire safety education and evacuation simulations play an important role in developing students' knowledge, emergency response skills, and safety awareness from an early age. This community service program aimed to improve the fire safety knowledge and emergency preparedness of sixth-grade students at SDN 004 Teritip, East Balikpapan, through interactive education and practical evacuation simulations. The program involved 45 students and consisted of fire safety education, question-and-answer sessions, a fire evacuation simulation, a four-question quiz, and an educational game. Data were collected through direct observation, quiz results, and photographic documentation and analyzed descriptively. The findings indicated that students actively participated in all activities and demonstrated a better understanding of fire hazards, evacuation procedures, and the function of assembly points. During the simulation, students were able to follow evacuation instructions in an orderly manner and showed increased confidence in responding to emergency situations. These results suggest that integrating interactive education with hands-on evacuation simulations is an effective approach to strengthening fire safety awareness and emergency preparedness among elementary school students. Therefore, regular implementation of fire safety education and evacuation drills is recommended to foster a sustainable culture of safety in schools..

Abstract

The massive use of generative artificial intelligence (AI) among university students is not matched by adequate AI literacy skills in validating scientific references. This condition gives rise to a serious threat in the form of academic citation hallucination, a phenomenon in which AI produces fictitious references that appear convincing but cannot be found in any scientific database. An initial survey of 30 students at the Elementary School Teacher Education Department (PGSD), Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP), Universitas Halu Oleo (UHO) in January–February 2026 revealed that 80% had used ChatGPT to compile references, 70% had never verified their validity, and 90% were unaware of verified academic AI tools. A review of 20 academic papers found that 35% contained references untraceable in any scientific database. This community service activity aimed to improve students' AI literacy in validating scientific references through online training using three academic AI tools: Scite AI, Elicit AI, and Consensus AI. The method employed was participatory training based on live demonstration and guided practice, using a one-group pre-test post-test design (n=30), analyzed using the Hake N-Gain formula. Results showed an average score increase from 51.40 (pre-test) to 87.33 (post-test) with a mean N-Gain of 0.73 (High category). N-Gain distribution: 15 participants (50%) High and 15 participants (50%) Medium, with no participants in the Low category. Participant satisfaction reached 83.33% (Very Satisfied). Online academic AI tools training is proven effective in improving AI literacy among prospective elementary school teacher students in validating scientific references.

Abstract

This empowerment initiative was motivated by teachers' limited competence in developing digital learning media that facilitate formative feedback for students. Digital pop-up media serve as interactive learning tools that provide visual and contextual feedback in response to student learning activities. The objective of this activity was to empower a group of teachers at SMPN 20 Jakarta to design and develop digital pop-up media as tools for providing learning feedback. The initiative was conducted through in-person sessions comprising lectures, interactive discussions, demonstrations, simulations, and pre- and post-test questionnaires. The results demonstrate an improvement in the teachers' knowledge, understanding, and skills regarding digital pop-up media development; this is evidenced by the participants' ability to create feedback-oriented pop-up products such as automatic response confirmations, concept-reinforcement pop-ups, and reflective feedback notifications tailored to their respective subjects. This activity is expected to strengthen teachers' digital-pedagogical competence and serve as an empowerment model that can be replicated within the broader teaching community

Abstract

Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) play an importantrole in driving the local economy, including within universityenvironments, as represented by the MSME “Risolesnya Bunda”operating in the canteen of Universitas Riau. In practice, thisbusiness partner still manages its finances irregularly: income andexpenses are not consistently recorded, and business funds are oftenmixed with personal funds, making it difficult for the owner todetermine the actual financial condition and increasing the risk offinancial mismanagement. This community service program aims toprovide education on the importance of simple cash recording as aneffort to reduce financial risk in MSMEs. The implementation methodconsisted of preparation, socialization, training in preparing asimple cash book, hands-on practice in recording transactions, anddiscussion sessions. The results show an improvement in thepartner’s understanding of how to separate personal and businessfunds, how to record income and expenses, and an introduction to adigital recording alternative using a Google Form linked to aspreadsheet. Through this activity, the partner obtained a simplecash book that can be used independently and sustainably to supportmore orderly financial management

Abstract

This community service program aimed to strengthen the digital marketing capacity of fish-processing micro-enterprises in Labuhan Burung Village, Buer District, Sumbawa Regency. The participants were 25 women, mainly spouses of capture-fishery and aquaculture workers, who developed premium and non-premium fish-ball products. The program applied participatory training and practice-based mentoring for approximately four months, covering needs identification, segmentation-targeting-positioning, digital platform selection, AIDA-based content development, product photography, packaging, labeling, and sales communication. Evaluation was descriptive and used participant observation, discussions, documentation, and assessment of practice outputs. The activities indicated that participants were able to distinguish the roles of Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and WhatsApp; prepare more focused promotional messages; practice product photography; and understand the relationship between packaging, labels, information transparency, and consumer trust. The products have begun to reach consumers in Labuhan Burung, Buer, and surrounding areas. The program confirms that MSME digitalization should begin with product readiness, concentration on one or two priority channels, and consistent content production. Further quantitative evaluation is required to measure competency improvement, sales conversion, and business sustainability.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the role of coworker support in dealing with work pressure experienced by the General Affairs Staf at the South Sumatra Provincial Health Office. Work pressure often arises due to high workloads, administrative demands, tight deadlines, and the need for high accuracy in completing tasks. This research used a descriptive quantitative approach involving five General Affairs staff members as respondents. Data were collected using questionnaires measuring coworker support and work pressure. The findings indicate that coworker support was generally in the high category, while work pressure was categorized as moderate. Emotional, instrumental, informational, and appraisal support contributed to reducing employees' work pressure. These findings support the Job Demand-Resources Model, which explains that coworker support acts as a job resource capable of reducing the negative impact of work demands. Therefore, fostering supportive relationships among coworkers is essential for maintaining employee well-being and improving organizational performance..

Abstract

Desa Samili Kabupaten Bima memiliki potensi lokal yang melimpah baik dari sektor pertanian sentral sayuran, UMKM pangan olahan, maupun modal sosial berupa kelembagaan desa yang aktif. Namun, tantangan utama yang dihadapi adalah rendahnya inovasi produk, keterbatasan pemasaran, dan minimnya pemanfaatan teknologi digital. Program Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat (PKM) ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan model pemberdayaan berbasis event melalui "Samili Fest" sebagai sarana promosi potensi lokal sekaligus penguatan ekonomi kreatif. Metode pelaksanaan meliputi tiga tahap: (1) persiapan dan pendampingan UMKM (packaging, branding, digital marketing), (2) pelaksanaan event yang mengintegrasikan pameran produk, pertunjukan seni budaya, dan lomba ekonomi kreatif, serta (3) evaluasi dan pembentukan Klaster Ekonomi Kreatif pasca event. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa Samili Fest berhasil meningkatkan partisipasi masyarakat (partisipasi 16 UMKM lokal, 1000 lebih pengunjung), meningkatkan omzet UMKM hingga 90%, serta meningkatkan kapasitas pelaku usaha dalam hal pemasaran digital dan jejaring kemitraan. Hasilnya melalui pendekatan event berbasis partisipasi masyarakat efektif sebagai model promosi dan penguatan ekonomi kreatif yang berkelanjutan.

Abstract

The rapid advancement of information and communication technology has significantly expanded internet accessibility, including in rural communities. However, increased internet access has not been accompanied by adequate digital literacy, leaving many community members vulnerable to various digital risks such as misinformation, online fraud, personal data breaches, and unethical online behavior. This community engagement program aimed to enhance the digital literacy of residents in Purwosari Village, Tanjung Lago District, Banyuasin Regency through a healthy and safe internet training program. The program was implemented using a participatory approach consisting of preliminary coordination with village authorities, community needs assessment, preparation of educational materials, interactive training sessions, hands-on assistance, and evaluation through discussions and quizzes. Approximately 30 participants, including housewives, adolescents, and community leaders, attended the training. The educational materials covered fundamental concepts of digital literacy, digital ethics, online privacy and personal data protection, identification of misinformation and online scams, and the productive use of digital technology to support education, economic activities, and social interaction. The program outcomes indicated an improvement in participants' understanding of responsible internet use, as reflected in their increased ability to identify reliable information, recognize the importance of protecting personal data, and apply safer and more ethical digital practices in their daily lives. This community engagement initiative is expected to serve as an initial step toward strengthening digital literacy in rural communities and fostering a digitally competent society capable of utilizing information technology safely, responsibly, and productively.

Abstract

Electric motors are widely used in various places to assist human work. Their intensive use makes damage due to age and operating conditions a common occurrence. The most frequent damage occurs in the motor windings, the most critical part that generates a rotating magnetic field. Repairing this damage requires rewinding the coils with high precision, as errors can cause the motor to malfunction. To extend the motor's service life and reduce repair costs, skilled personnel are needed in the community who can perform electric motor maintenance and repair. Therefore, the community service team conducted training on motor winding rewinding for interested community members. This training utilized experts from the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Syiah Kuala University, including lecturers, students, and laboratory staff. This activity aims to increase the number of skilled workers in electric motor maintenance and repair, particularly in rewinding coils, so that electric motors can function properly again and maintenance cost savings can be improved in the community. The results achieved showed a noticeable improvement in participants' understanding after the training, and participants were able to perform the motor winding rewinding practice under guidance.

Abstract

Perencanaan keuangan yang efektif menjadi elemen krusial bagi keberlangsungan perusahaan, khususnya dalam pengelolaan Capital Expenditure (CAPEX) dan Operational Expenditure (OPEX). Transformasi digital yang berkembang pesat di Indonesia turut mengubah struktur pengeluaran perusahaan, dari investasi aset tetap (CAPEX) menuju biaya layanan berbasis langganan (OPEX), sehingga pemahaman yang tepat mengenai klasifikasi kedua komponen ini menjadi semakin penting agar tidak terjadi kesalahan dalam penyusunan anggaran maupun pengambilan keputusan investasi. Berdasarkan permasalahan tersebut, kegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (PKM) ini dilaksanakan dengan tujuan memberikan pemahaman kepada mitra mengenai optimalisasi perencanaan keuangan melalui pemahaman dan implementasi CAPEX serta OPEX. Kegiatan dilaksanakan pada 20 Oktober 2025 di PT Sahabat Agro Group melalui metode pemaparan materi yang terbagi dalam tiga sesi, meliputi manajemen budgeting, penerapan CAPEX dan OPEX dalam agribisnis berdasarkan IAS 16 dan IAS 41, serta financial modeling dan manajemen risiko, yang diikuti oleh 17 peserta dari kalangan manajer dan kepala divisi Accounting, Finance, dan Tax. Hasil evaluasi menggunakan kuesioner terhadap empat indikator (edukatif, objektif, akuntabel, dan transparan) menunjukkan skor rata-rata antara 3,5 dan 3,6 dari skala Sangat Tidak Setuju hingga Sangat Setuju, yang mengindikasikan bahwa kegiatan ini dinilai bermanfaat, relevan, dan mudah dipahami oleh peserta. Kegiatan ini menyimpulkan bahwa pemahaman yang komprehensif terhadap CAPEX dan OPEX merupakan fondasi penting dalam mendukung strategi perencanaan keuangan yang efektif, efisien, dan berkelanjutan, serta peserta berharap adanya program lanjutan yang lebih bersifat aplikatif seperti workshop atau pelatihan teknis.
