Abstract

The purpose of implementing community service activities is to provide skills to health cadres about the Oketani massage technique as one of the techniques to facilitate the process of breast milk production. The method of implementing this service is carried out by providing training through lectures, discussions and questions and answers with the help of powerpoint media, mannequins and videos. The technique of measuring the achievement of the implementation of activities is carried out by measuring knowledge in pre and post test. The place where the service activities were carried out was carried out in Maos District, Cilacap Regency with a total of 50 health cadre participants with a time allocation from March to September 2024. The result of the activity was the Oketani massage training which is one of the alternatives for breastfeeding mothers to smooth the milk production process with massage techniques. The results of the pre-test and post-test assessments showed an increase in scores, which was an indicator of the success of this community service activity. The increase in knowledge of posyandu cadres is expected to be disseminated to the wider community, so as to have a wider positive impact. This activity has important implications in making a positive contribution to improving the knowledge of health cadres, which in turn can help solve maternal problems in terms of breastfeeding. Thus, this community service activity is not only beneficial for posyandu cadres, but also has the potential to improve the health of mothers and children in the community as a whole.

Abstract

Abstract

Non-communicable diseases (NCDs) such as diabetes, hypertension, kidney failure and heart disease are increasingly becoming a serious threat throughout the world, including in Indonesia. Kidney failure is a non-communicable disease with increasing morbidity and mortality. NCDs (kidney failure) usually appear without symptoms and do not show any specific clinical signs, so that most people are not aware of the dangers of NCDs. Early detection and prevention efforts for kidney failure are very important because kidney failure in children and adolescents can have a negative impact on future life. This community service aims to conduct early detection screening for risk factors for kidney failure and health education to increase knowledge about NCDs. The method used in this activity is education and socialization of Kidney Failure Disease in adolescents at SLTA N 3 Luwuk. The targets involved in this activity were more than 100 people. The results of the pre-test and post-test activities on participants showed an increase in test scores before and after receiving education. The average pre-test score of participants was 7.55 with SD 0.202, in the post-test the average score was 9.72 with SD 0.521. From these results, it can be seen that there was an increase in score of 2.17 points. The results of the statistical test obtained a p value of 0.000, which means that there is a significant difference between the scores before (pre-test) and after education (post-test). This community service activity is an important promotive and preventive step in improving public health, especially for adolescents in efforts to prevent and overcome kidney failure.

Abstract

Cadres are the drivers of various aspects of society's social life. Health cadres are one of the partners of health workers who are expected to be able to bridge between health workers and the community, helping improve the health and welfare of people in the region. The principle of community empowerment is applied in health development programs; one example is the Integrated Service Post (Posyandu). Posyandu is an activity that is managed and organized from, by, for, and with the community. The aim of community service activities is to provide education about the KIA book to health cadres. The target of the activity was health cadres, totaling 20 participants. The methods used were lectures, questions, and answers using the KIA book as tools and presentation material about the use of the KIA book. Evaluation of community service activities by assessing pre-test and post-test regarding knowledge of KIA book use by cadres. The post-test was carried out after participants received information about using the KIA book. The results of the activity showed an average pre-test score of 60.71 and an average post-test score of 72.85. The conclusion of this community service activity was that there was an increase in the level of knowledge of health cadres in using KIA books to monitor the growth and development of toddlers as an effort to screen for early stunting.

Abstract

Tuberculosis (TB) continues to be a major worldwide health concern, with some regions in Indonesia facing challenges in achieving case detection objectives. This initiative sought to enhance tuberculosis case detection using mobile X-ray screening, the provision of preventative medication, and the identification of latent tuberculosis infections among household contacts and high-risk groups, especially stunting children. The results indicated that just 6.03% of participants had a history of tuberculosis contact, but 67.84% presented risk factors including malnutrition, exposure to smoking, previous tuberculosis diagnosis, and diabetes. Chest radiography revealed anomalies in 6.03% of individuals, requiring further diagnostic verification. Furthermore, stunting was widespread, with 48% categorized as moderately stunted and 27% as severely stunted. Post-intervention evaluations indicated an enhanced mother's understanding of tuberculosis. Initiatives to enhance tuberculosis case finding among women and children under five in rural regions must be expanded and strengthened to decrease transmission, enhance detection rates, bridge information gaps, mitigate stigma, and increase treatment coverage, ultimately leading to reduced tuberculosis transmission.
