Abstract

Learning Natural Sciences is considered to be a difficult problem for students so students' science process skills are less than optimal. This study aims to explore the science process skills of students of Elementary Madrasah Teacher Education, Institut Agama Islam Nahdlatul Ulama Kebumen in the course of basic concepts of Natural Sciences, especially the material on the properties of light. This study is a descriptive qualitative study. This study was taken from students of Elementary Madrasah Teacher Education Semester IV at the Institut Agama Islam Nahdlatul Ulama Kebumen. The number of respondents in this study was 16 students. Data were obtained from observations, in-depth interviews, and documentation. Data were validated using the triangulation method technique. The data were analyzed using an interactive analysis process, including data reduction, data presentation, and verification/conclusion. The results of the study showed that students of the Elementary Madrasah Teacher Education Institut Agama Islam Nahdlatul Ulama Kebumen had science process skills with a percentage level of 88.10% or excellent, which was indicated by having indicators of the ability to observe, group, clarify, predict, ask questions, conduct experiments, and communicate. The indicator that students most mastered was communicating with a percentage of 95.75%, while the indicator that students less mastered was asking questions with a rate of 75%. These results were caused by students being accustomed to doing percentages and having previous practical experience, but they were only able to ask questions with the practical content of practical activities. Overall, all students of the Elementary Madrasah Teacher Education met the science process skills indicators very well.

Abstract

This study aims to describe how teachers' strategies improve critical thinking skills by implementing a problem-based learning model. This study uses a descriptive qualitative research method with data collection techniques through interviews, observation, and documentation. 21st-century education requires students to master not only knowledge but also skills. One of the skills in 21st-century learning that needs to be mastered and improved is critical thinking skills. The problem-based learning model is a learning model in which students are faced with a problem that aims to enable students to actively participate in learning. The results of this study indicate that there is an increase in students' critical thinking skills after participating in problem-based learning. This can be seen when students participate in learning, students are actively involved in discussions, ask questions, respect friends' opinions, and convey the results of their discussions.

Abstract

Pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia di kelas rendah sekolah dasar memiliki peran penting dalam membentuk dasar kemampuan berbahasa siswa. Namun, metode pembelajaran konvensional sering kali kurang efektif karena tidak sesuai dengan karakteristik anak usia dini yang cenderung aktif dan menyukai kegiatan bermain. Penelitian atau kajian ini bertujuan untuk menggambarkan manfaat dan efektivitas penggunaan permainan edukatif sebagai media pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia di kelas rendah. Permainan edukatif mampu menciptakan suasana belajar yang menyenangkan, meningkatkan motivasi siswa, serta melatih keterampilan berbahasa secara menyeluruh, baik menyimak, berbicara, membaca, maupun menulis. Selain itu, permainan juga mendorong perkembangan keterampilan sosial dan emosional siswa melalui interaksi dan kerja sama dalam kegiatan belajar. Hasil pembahasan menunjukkan bahwa integrasi permainan edukatif dalam pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia di kelas rendah tidak hanya membuat siswa lebih aktif dan terlibat, tetapi juga meningkatkan pemahaman mereka terhadap materi. Oleh karena itu, pendekatan ini perlu didukung dan dikembangkan secara berkelanjutan oleh guru dan sekolah.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of language craft media as a form of art integration and multimodal literacy in Indonesian language learning. The research subjects were student teachers who designed and developed craft-based learning media, namely word collages, creative text cards, and narrative visual works. This study used a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation of language craft media products. The results showed that word collages enriched vocabulary and reading skills, creative text cards encouraged the ability to write simple sentences with visual support, while narrative visual works integrated writing and speaking skills multimodally. These findings indicate that language craft media can expand the learning experience of student teachers in designing Indonesian language learning that is creative, contextual, and in accordance with the demands of multimodal literacy. This study provides implications that the integration of art and language needs to be developed as an alternative learning media that is relevant in the contemporary education era.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effectiveness of an interactive Augmented Reality (AR) book as a learning medium to enhance environmental literacy among elementary school students. Environmental literacy encompasses the ability to understand, respond to, and act wisely on environmental issues, which should be instilled from an early age. The AR book was developed with educational content themed around the reuse of second-hand clothing as an effort to reduce textile waste, presented through engaging visual and audio elements tailored for children. The research employed a quasi-experimental method with a one-group pretest-posttest design, involving 31 upper-grade elementary students as participants. The instrument used was an environmental literacy test. The results showed an increase in the average score from 13.4 to 13.8 after the intervention. However, statistical analysis revealed a significance value of 0.255, indicating that the improvement was not statistically significant. These findings suggest that while there was a slight increase in students’ average scores, the use of the interactive AR book did not produce a significant impact on their environmental literacy. The study recommends further development of content and more intensive learning approaches to enhance the effectiveness of technology-based media in environmental education.

Abstract

The development of the Fourth Industrial Revolution and Society 5.0 has caused major changes in the world of work and education in Indonesia. In this context, vocational education plays a crucial role in preparing a quality workforce that meets market needs. This study aims to assess the vocational education system in vocational high schools by applying the Link and Match concept and in-depth learning in the vocational high school curriculum that can adapt to the needs of the current industrial and social era. The method used in this study is the CIPP (Context, Input, Process, Product) evaluation approach by collecting data through observation, interviews, questionnaires, and documentation. The findings of this study indicate that the vocational education system has made progress, as seen in the alignment between the curriculum and industry needs supported by the Link and Match program, although there are still challenges in the areas of facilities, teacher competence, and technology implementation that need to be improved. Project-based learning, internships, and teaching factories have proven effective in improving students' readiness for work. However, improving digital competencies and soft skills is an urgent need for graduates to be able to compete at a global level. This study recommends increasing cooperation between vocational schools and industry and sustainable development in terms of human resources and infrastructure to respond to changes occurring in Industry 4.0 and Society 5.0.. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengimplementasikan bimbingan kelompok berbasis video animasi YouTube guna meningkatkan minat belajar anak kelas 4 SD di Sanggar Bimbingan Kepong Malaysia. Metode yang digunakan adalah eksperimen dengan design OneGroup Pre-Test dan Post-Test, yang melibatkan 6 siswa sebagai sampel. Analisis data menggunakan uji Paired t Test menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan minat belajar dengan nilai signifikan p=0,27 (0<0,05). Hasil ini menyatakan bahwa penggunaan video animasi dalam bimbingan kelompok efektif dalam meningkatkan minat belajar anak. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan pengembangan model pembelajaran serupa untuk meningkatkan efektivitas dari bimbingan di lingkungan pendidikan dasar.

Abstract

Breast milk (ASI) not only serves as a source of nutrition for infants but also functions as a means of building emotional bonds and instilling moral values from an early age. In the Islamic perspective, breastfeeding receives special attention as reflected in the sources of Sharia and socio-religious practices. This article aims to analyze the ethics of motherhood in Islam concerning the fulfillment of children’s rights to breast milk and its implications for Islamic character education. The research method employs library research and normative analysis of religious literature, health policies, and recent empirical studies. The findings indicate that Islamic traditions and laws encourage the fulfillment of children's rights to receive exclusive and continued breastfeeding; however, its implementation is often influenced by social, cultural, and healthcare system factors. The concept of maternal ethics in Islam, which emphasizes compassion, responsibility, and exemplary behavior, can be integrated into character education curricula to promote broader breastfeeding practices. Recommendations include strengthening family education based on Islamic values, implementing breastfeeding-friendly school policies, and developing integrated counseling programs involving religious leaders and health practitioners.

Abstract

The School Literacy Movement (SLM ) has been implemented in Southwest Sumba Regency (SSR) since 2018 to improve students' reading culture. This study analyzes the impact of SLM on students' reading interest. This quantitative research uses a survey method. This study involved 97 elementary school students as a random sample whose number was determined using the Slovin formula. Data collection used a questionnaire. Prerequisite tests showed that the data were normally distributed, but did not meet the linearity assumption. The analysis was continued with the Spearman test. The results showed that the SLM score reached 72.39 and the reading interest score was 61.00, both of which are included in the high category. The research data showed a normal distribution but was not homogeneous. Spearman's Rank analysis yielded a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05, indicating that SLM has a positive and significant effect on the reading interest of elementary school students in SSR. This finding indicates the need to strengthen the implementation of SLM aspects to increase effectiveness in building sustainable student reading interest.

Abstract

The importance of understanding the influence of self-esteem levels on students’ mathematical literacy lies in the fact that differences in self-confidence can affect the way students think, understand, and apply arithmetic operation concepts in problem-solving. This study aims to analyze elementary school students’ mathematical literacy skills on arithmetic operation material based on their levels of self-esteem—high, moderate, and low. The research employed a descriptive qualitative method involving 25 fifth-grade students from SD Negeri 20 Kota Baubau as the research subjects. The focus of the study was directed toward students’ ability to solve arithmetic operation problems by considering their respective levels of self-esteem. Data were collected through three main instruments: a questionnaire to measure self-esteem, a mathematical literacy test to assess students’ mathematical thinking skills, and interviews to obtain in-depth information about their thought processes and problem-solving strategies. The results of the study revealed variations in students’ mathematical literacy abilities influenced by their levels of self-esteem. Students with low self-esteem were generally unable to meet all indicators of mathematical literacy, those with moderate self-esteem demonstrated a fairly good understanding but faced difficulties in mathematical communication, while students with high self-esteem showed strong mastery of all mathematical literacy indicators.
