Abstract

This research provides an important contribution in understanding the application of character apples as a medium for forming students' religious values at SDN Ngaliyan 01 Semarang City. Apple activities carried out regularly have proven to be effective in helping students internalize religious values, such as discipline, honesty, cleanliness and concern for others. The results of this research are in line with the Value Theory developed by Milton Rokeach, which emphasizes the importance of habits and social support in forming fundamental values in individuals. Routine practices such as group prayer and conveying moral messages help internalize values in students. The research also identifies barriers, such as religious diversity and time constraints, and offers solutions. With evidence of the positive impact of character apples, this research provides guidance for schools and stakeholders to form a moral and spiritual generation. Apart from that, the role of teachers and school principals as role models is also emphasized as the main element in supporting the significant strengthening of students' religious values. This research not only strengthens religious character education efforts but can also be an inspiration for other schools in developing similar programs on an ongoing basis.

Abstract

This article explores the role of aqidah in shaping Muslim character in the digital era through the perspectives of theology and psychology. The study is motivated by a moral crisis amidst rapid technological advancements. Through a literature-based approach, the study highlights aqidah as the foundation of Islamic beliefs that shapes behavior aligned with the values of the Qur'an and Sunnah, both in relationships with Allah and with fellow humans. Aqidah reinforces values such as honesty, responsibility, and justice, including in the digital space, which is fraught with challenges like misinformation and hate speech. The study emphasizes the importance of integrating aqidah education with psychology, such as behaviorism theory, through three stages: understanding, loving, and practicing good values. Instilling aqidah from an early age is deemed critical for character development. This article offers an interdisciplinary solution to the moral challenges faced by younger generations, demonstrating that strong aqidah equips individuals to manage digital behavior, adhere to Islamic values, and become dignified, ethical, and responsible individuals. The study provides both practical and theoretical contributions to Islamic character education relevant to the modern era.

Abstract

The quality of education is closely tied to the professional competencies of teachers, which in turn are influenced by the effectiveness of school leadership. While numerous studies have examined the role of principals in enhancing teacher performance, limited research has explored the contextual dynamics of leadership practices in Indonesian secondary schools, particularly in less-represented regions such as Merauke. This study investigates how principals at SMP IT Lukman Al Hakim and SMP Muhammadiyah Merauke employ leadership strategies to foster teacher professional development, with a particular emphasis on pedagogical, professional, and technological competencies. A qualitative descriptive design was adopted, involving in-depth interviews, document analysis, and observations with school principals, teachers, and administrative staff. Data were analyzed thematically to identify patterns of leadership practices, challenges encountered, and strategies for overcoming barriers. The findings reveal that both schools implement transformational leadership, albeit with different emphases. SMP IT prioritizes inclusive collaboration and reflective supervision, while SMP Muhammadiyah focuses on curriculum innovation and digital integration. Despite positive impacts, challenges persist, including limited time for continuous professional development, teacher readiness in adopting digital tools, and structural constraints within school management. The study concludes that leadership, when adaptive and contextually grounded, significantly enhances teacher competence and indirectly improves student outcomes. This research contributes to the literature by providing comparative insights into leadership practices in Indonesian junior secondary schools, offering both theoretical and practical implications for educational leadership and policy.
