Abstract

This study examines the comparative effects of aerobic dance and cycling on the psychological well-being of adolescent girls in Indonesia, a country where mental health awareness among youth is growing yet remains under-implemented in educational settings. As physical education increasingly seeks cost-effective and accessible methods to promote mental wellness, this research provides valuable insights. Sixty tenth-grade female students aged 15–16 were selected via random sampling and assigned to a 2×2 factorial experimental design. Data were collected using a validated psychological well-being questionnaire and analyzed using two-way ANOVA and Tukey's HSD test at a significance level of 0.05. The results revealed three main findings: (1) aerobic dance significantly outperformed cycling in improving psychological well-being; (2) participants with higher fitness levels exhibited better psychological outcomes than those with lower fitness; and (3) a significant interaction effect was observed between exercise type and fitness level, with the most significant improvement seen in high-fitness participants who engaged in aerobic dance. These findings emphasize the importance of considering both exercise modality and physical fitness level in designing school-based interventions to promote adolescent mental health.

Abstract

This study aims to determine whether pull-up training has a significant effect on the volleyball smash performance of students participating in the extracurricular volleyball program at SMA Negeri 1 Sungai Pinang. The research employed an experimental (quantitative) method with a pre-experimental design, specifically the one-group pretest-posttest design. The population consisted of 12 male students who were active members of the school's volleyball extracurricular activity. The sampling technique used was total sampling. The data collection techniques employed in this study included observation, testing, and documentation. The data analysis technique employed in this study utilized inferential statistics, specifically the Paired Sample t-test, which SPSS assisted. The results of the Paired Sample t-test analysis showed a t-count value of -8.424 with degrees of freedom (df) = 11, and N-1 and a significance value (p-value) of 0.001. The significance value (p-value) is 0.001, which is smaller than 0.05 (0.001 < 0.05). This means that H0 is rejected, and Ha is accepted. Therefore, pull-up training has a significant effect on improving smash performance in volleyball among students participating in the extracurricular program at SMA Negeri 1 Sungai Pinang.

Abstract

This study aims to determine whether ladder drills and zig-zag exercises affect footwork agility in badminton players of PB. Dahlia Pagaralam. The research method used is an experimental method with a Two-Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The data collection technique involved testing. The sample consisted of all male athletes of PB. Dahlia Pagaralam, totalling 20 athletes, was selected using a total sampling technique. Data were analyzed using hypothesis testing with the t-test. The results for Group 1 showed a t-value = 12.676, which is greater than the critical value (t-table = 1.833). Group 2 showed a t-value of 15.922, which is also greater than the t-table value. This indicates differences between the two exercises in improving agility. To determine which of the two exercises had a greater effect, the mean pretest and posttest scores for Group 1 were 22.40 and 25.70, respectively. For Group 2, the corresponding scores were 19.70 and 22.30. Thus, Group 1 experienced an increase of 3.30, whereas Group 2 increased by 2.60. These results suggest that the ladder drill exercise has a more significant effect on improving badminton footwork agility compared to zig-zag.

Abstract

This study aimed to examine the career interests of PJKR students at Universitas Insan Budi Utomo after they participated in the Kampus Mengajar program. Using a descriptive quantitative approach, data were collected from 30 respondents through a 9-item questionnaire that covered affective, cognitive, and conative dimensions. The data analysis revealed that 57% of students had a high interest level, 33% had a very high interest level, and 10% had a moderate interest level. Additionally, item-level analysis revealed strong emotional engagement: 96.6% felt proud helping students, and 93.4% enjoyed teaching. Cognitively, 90% understood teacher responsibilities, and 86.7% felt confident in PJOK teaching methods. Conative responses were slightly lower; 83.3% intended to join PPG, and 86.6% planned to apply as PJOK teachers. While affective and cognitive dimensions were highly positive, a slight dip in commitment-related items suggests varying levels of certainty in long-term career plans. These findings highlight the positive impact of experiential learning in fostering teaching interest, especially in physical education.

Abstract

This study originates from the underdeveloped management of tourist attractions in Aceh, which has not been optimized to its full potential. Aceh currently requires a marketable tourism model that leaves a lasting impression on visitors. One promising alternative is ecosport tourism, an integration of sports activities and tourism that fosters interaction between tourists and local destinations. The objective of this study is to develop a tourism model that addresses the needs of the sports sector in Aceh. This research employs a qualitative research and development (R&D) approach, using interviews, documentation, and field observations as data collection methods. The data were analysed through the identification and description of tourism sites, as well as the formulation of appropriate ecosport models. The study findings reveal three potential ecosport tourism models based on regional characteristics: (1) walking or trekking in Banda Aceh, with six tourism stops featuring tsunami heritage sites; (2) cycling in Aceh Besar, covering seven cultural and natural destinations; and (3) a mixed-sport model in Central Aceh, which includes swimming, paragliding, rafting, and horseback riding. Expert validation results indicated a content validity score of 92%, categorized as "very valid," while media validation achieved a score of 96%. Response data showed high approval from students (86.6%), lecturers (81.6%), and tourism practitioners (85.8%). These results confirm that the developed ecosport tourism model falls within the 81%–100% range, qualifying it as very valid or very practical for implementation in real-world conditions.

Abstract

Classroom Action Research aims to enhance the motor coordination of grade V students at SDN Kertagena Tengah 4 through the implementation of a music-based rhythmic gymnastics learning model for children. The background of the study is based on the low motor coordination ability of students (only 32% reached the initial competency standards) and the lack of variation in PJOK learning methods. This study employed the Kemmis and McTaggart model of the PTK approach, utilising two intervention cycles. Data were collected using the Gross Motor Development Checklist instrument (α = 0.85), the Rhythmic Movement Observation Rubric (content validity = 0.82), observations, interviews, and students' diaries. The results showed significant improvements in rhythmic accuracy (from 35% to 92%), postural control (from 28% to 88%), and active participation (from 44% to 90%). Additionally, qualitative data revealed an increase in learning motivation, self-confidence, and the use of natural peer tutoring. This research demonstrates the effectiveness of a multisensory approach (combining auditory, visual, and kinesthetic elements) in learning gymnastics. The results of this study have practical benefits for both teachers and schools in developing an innovative and student-centered PJOK curriculum.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the optimal dosage of Americano coffee consumption that enhances concentration without compromising health. Employing a quasi-experimental design with pretest and posttest measurements, this study analyzes the impact of Americano caffeine on the focus levels of Gen Z individuals. The study involved 30 Gen-Z respondents in Malang City, with a majority being female (17 individuals or approximately 56.7%) and predominantly aged 21 (10 individuals). Paired-sample t-test results revealed a significant increase in performance and concentration following Americano consumption. Data showed a reduction in task completion time and an increase in concentration scores, indicating substantial improvements in cognitive capabilities. Collectively, these findings suggest that Americano coffee consumption can be effective in enhancing both operational efficiency (response speed) and cognitive capability (accuracy and focus) in Gen-Z. This research is expected to encourage more mindful and healthier coffee consumption habits, supporting both mental and physical well-being.
