Abstract

This study seeks to examine the influence of school administrators' leadership on enhancing teachers' performance, identify the initiatives undertaken, and uncover the facilitating and obstructive elements.  The used methodology is a qualitative technique grounded on literature review and descriptive analysis, including the synthesis of diverse pertinent information sources, including books and scholarly papers. The research findings indicate that the principal has a pivotal function as an educator, manager, administrator, supervisor, leader, innovator, and motivator (EMASLIM). Initiatives to enhance teacher performance are implemented via academic monitoring, incentive, professional development, and the establishment of a supportive school culture. The primary facilitating variables consist of a favourable organisational atmosphere and the proficiency of the school administrator, while the obstructive aspects include excessive administrative responsibilities, opposition to change, and constraints in facilities and infrastructure.

Abstract

In the digital era, information flows rapidly via the internet; however, this convenience brings significant negative consequences, such as the easy spread of fake news or hoaxes. The dissemination of hoaxes influences the perspectives and mindsets of the public, particularly university students. Recognizing this phenomenon, the government has positioned literacy as a key pillar in curbing the spread of hoaxes. This study aims to determine the impact of digital literacy on students' ability to filter information and avoid becoming entangled in the cycle of hoaxes. The study employs a systematic literature review method with a deductive approach, examining relevant prior research. Data were collected through literature searches and reviews, then analyzed to synthesize findings on the topic. The results indicate that digital literacy significantly influences students' ability to evaluate the credibility of information sources. It is evident that students with strong digital literacy skills tend to filter information before sharing it.

Abstract

This study examines how public figures who are primarily known as book authors use language pragmatically to inspire audiences in their TED Talks, and what implications these strategies hold for public speaking instruction in the digital age. Employing a qualitative descriptive design, the study analyzes the transcripts of five widely circulated TED Talks delivered by book writers: Brené Brown's "The Power of Vulnerability," Elizabeth Gilbert's "Your Elusive Creative Genius," Susan Cain's "The Power of Introverts," Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie's "The Danger of a Single Story," and Simon Sinek's "How Great Leaders Inspire Action." The utterances were segmented and coded using Searle's (1976) taxonomy of speech acts, Grice's (1975) Cooperative Principle, and a deictic-marker analysis of person and temporal deixis. Findings show that assertive and directive speech acts jointly account for the majority of coded utterances, that speakers strategically flout the maxims of quantity and relation through extended personal narrative before returning to their communicative point, and that inclusive person deixis ("we," "you") is used at a markedly higher rate than exclusive or distancing forms to build audience solidarity. These pragmatic patterns are then discussed in relation to the demands of digital-age public communication, where short attention spans, algorithm-driven platforms, and parasocial audience relationships require speakers to establish relevance and credibility within the opening seconds of a talk. The study concludes with practical implications for public speaking pedagogy, including the deliberate teaching of narrative-led openings, strategic maxim flouting, and inclusive deixis as trainable pragmatic competencies.

Abstract

This study aims to develop interactive storybooks as educational media to introduce gender identity in early childhood. The research employed the Research and Development (R&D) method using the ADDIE model, consisting of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation stages. The participants were children aged 5-6 years at BKB PAUD Mulia and TK Bahtera Ceria, selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through observation, interviews, questionnaires, and expert validation, and analyzed using quantitative and qualitative descriptive techniques. The results showed that material expert validation reached 89.06% and media expert validation reached 85%, categorized as highly feasible. Educational practitioners’ assessment reached 99.04%, parents’ responses reached 87.56%, and children’s observations showed highly positive responses. The media effectively helped children understand self-identity, gender identity, and body safety in a more concrete way. Therefore, the interactive storybooks are feasible as educational media for early childhood. Further studies are recommended to conduct broader and longer-term implementation.

Abstract

NU mengartikulasikan pendekatan implisit-substantif berbasis tradisi mazhab; Muhammadiyah meniscayakan corak eksplisit-progresif; sementara MUI menerapkan sintesis integratif-aplikatif.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the representation of revelation and miracles in Richard Rich’s animated film Muhammad: The Last Prophet (2002) using Roland Barthes’ semiotic approach. The study is motivated by the challenge of visually representing sacred events while adhering to the Islamic aniconic principle that prohibits the depiction of Prophet Muhammad. This qualitative research employs a descriptive-analytical approach through the observation of three key scenes: the first revelation in the Cave of Hira, the command of prayer, and the miracle during the Battle of Badr. The data were analyzed using Barthes’ three levels of signification: denotation, connotation, and myth. The findings reveal that the film constructs the representation of revelation and miracles through the use of light, sound, point-of-view shots, characters’ reactions, and environmental changes as a system of signs that establishes an aniconic pattern of “presence through absence.” This strategy enables metaphysical events to be conveyed coherently within the narrative without violating Islamic theological principles. The study concludes that the film successfully bridges transcendental experiences and visual storytelling through a consistent semiotic construction, preserving the sacredness of the events while making them comprehensible to audiences

Abstract

This research seeks to delineate and examine the execution of facilities and infrastructure management and its contribution to enhancing the efficacy of learning in educational institutions. This research uses a qualitative approach via a literature review. The literature study approach, or library research, entails gathering data and information via the examination of textual sources, including scientific journals, reference books, and other credible materials, in both print and digital media, pertinent to the subject of investigation. Research participants include school administrators and instructors. The data were analysed use the model proposed by Miles and colleagues, which encompasses the steps of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion formulation. The findings indicate that facilities and infrastructure management, including planning, procurement, utilisation, maintenance, and inventory, is crucial for establishing an effective learning environment. Effective management has been shown to enhance learning efficacy, including both academic performance and character development of students. The primary obstacles encountered consist of financial limitations, inadequate regular maintenance, and a deficient inventory system necessitating improvement. This research suggests that organised, well-maintained, and methodical facility management is a critical aspect for the overall effectiveness of the educational process

Abstract

Economic education at the Senior High School (SMA) level plays a strategic role in equipping students with an understanding of economic concepts and principles relevant to everyday life. However, various studies indicate that high school students' understanding of economic concepts remains relatively low, characterized by weak abilities in answering questions with high cognitive levels (C4 and above) and a tendency for learning to end in rote memorization without deep comprehension. This study aims to systematically examine the effectiveness of Case-Based Learning (CBL) on high school students' understanding of economic concepts. The method used is a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) following the PRISMA 2020 guidelines. Literature searches were conducted on five academic databases (Google Scholar, Scopus, SINTA, Garuda, and DOAJ) with publication range 2019–2026. The synthesis results from various studies show that CBL is proven effective in improving high school students' understanding of economic concepts. This effectiveness is reflected in the improvement of critical thinking skills deeper conceptual understanding, as well as increased active engagement and student learning motivation. The success of CBL is inseparable from the characteristics of this approach that uses real-life scenarios, encourages critical analysis, and actively involves students in the learning process. However, the implementation of CBL in the field still faces various challenges, particularly related to teacher readiness, resource limitations, and the dominance of teacher-centred approaches. Technology integration and the development of CBL-based learning materials are potential strategies to optimize the effectiveness of this method. Further research with more diverse designs, longer durations, and broader sample coverage is still needed to provide a more comprehensive picture.
