Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the paradigm shift in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) related to the implementation of the 2013 Curriculum and the Merdeka Curriculum. This shift is analyzed using the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method to identify similarities, differences, and their impacts on learning and character development of students. The SLR research protocol used refers to the PRISMA guidelines, with data collected from credible academic sources such as Google Scholar, Scopus, and SINTA. The findings show that the Merdeka Curriculum offers greater flexibility for teachers in selecting teaching methods and materials, and places more emphasis on strengthening the values of religious moderation. In contrast, the 2013 Curriculum is more structured, focusing on competency-based learning and a scientific approach. The implications of this paradigm shift include changes in the teacher's role to that of a facilitator, the integration of technology in learning, and the adjustment of competency-based evaluation methods. This study also identifies opportunities such as strengthening religious moderation values and the development of a digital-based curriculum, as well as implementation challenges including teacher preparedness and differing perceptions in the application of the curriculum.

Abstract

South Korea is promoted as a Muslim-friendly tourist destination, with an increasing Muslim population, as well as government initiatives in providing facilities that support Muslim needs, but discrimination against the Muslim community still occurs in the country. This research will discuss the phenomenon of Islamophobia in South Korea using the concept of Islamophobia from The Runnymede Trust which identifies four main indicators of Islamophobic practices: discrimination, exclusion, violence, and prejudice. The research method used is a qualitative research method by collecting online documents including journals, websites, social media and films relevant to this research and analyzing them with a content analysis approach to find forms of Islamophobia in South Korea. The research shows that the Muslim community experiences difficulties in accessing employment, public services, and faces negative stereotypes reinforced by the media. Cases of hate speech, refusal to build mosques, and barriers to worship reflect the deep-rooted Islamophobia in South Korean society. This research provides insight into the contradiction between the government's campaign and the social reality faced by the Muslim community in South Korea, and analyzes the factors that influence Islamophobic sentiments.

This study aims to analyze the role of the value of time and patience in Surah Al-'Asr as the basis for developing teachers' pedagogical competence in shaping students' adaptability character in the digital era. The research method used is a qualitative study with document analysis of various literature sources, including classical and contemporary tafsir as well as current research on character education and modern pedagogy. Data analysis techniques were carried out through identification, reduction, and interpretation of documents to find the relevance of the value of time and patience to teachers' pedagogical competence. The results show that the value of time helps students develop discipline, planning, and efficiency in learning, while the value of patience builds mental and emotional resilience in facing academic and social challenges. Teachers with good pedagogical competence are able to integrate these two values in learning methods, such as through time management-based assignments and challenge-based learning that instills perseverance.

Abstract

This article discusses the differences between classical and contemporary interpretations regarding the law on child marriage and the provisions on bulugh al-nikah (marriage age limit). This classic view is found in surah al-Thalaq verse 4 regarding the 'iddah period of women who have not yet menstruated and the history of the marriage of the Prophet Muhammad Saw and Siti Aisyah who was still 6 years old. Meanwhile, feminist interpretations prohibit child marriages featuring feminist figures such as Husein Muhamad, Musdah Mulia and Badriyah Fayumi. They established the bulugh al-nikah. According to them, puberty is not only related to biological aspects, but also having readiness, maturity and maturity both physically, financially and mentally as preparations for living the household. Their view is based on the purpose or maqashid of marriage sharia which is explained by other verses, such as surah al-Rum verse 21 and surah al-Nisa verse 9 that marriage is not limited to physical and biological relations, but reaches the central institution, namely a happy family in bondage. . the holy (mitsaqan ghaliza).

Abstract

This study examines the mujmal (ambiguous) expressions in Quranic verses on spousal maintenance (nafkah) and analyzes their operationalization within Article 80 of the Compilation of Islamic Law (KHI) through the dalālah al-alfāẓ theory in uṣūl al-fiqh. Expressions such as bil-maʿrūf (Q.S. al-Baqarah: 233), min wujdikum, and min saʿatihi (Q.S. al-Ṭalāq: 6–7) are mujmal expressions that do not definitively prescribe the quantum of maintenance, thus requiring bayān from the Sunnah and scholarly ijtihad. Using a qualitative library-research method with a normative-analytical approach, the study finds: (1) the husband's maintenance obligation is absolute according to the dalālah ʿibārah of Q.S. al-Baqarah: 233, independent of the wife's economic status; (2) a working wife's income is her exclusive property and does not reduce her maintenance entitlement; and (3) Article 80 KHI constitutes a codification of bayān over these mujmal expressions but leaves a legal gap regarding working wives requiring resolution through maqāṣid al-sharīʿah-based ijtihad. The study proposes a three-component normative framework integrating dalālah analysis, maqāṣid principles, and positive Indonesian law.

Abstract

Amid the disruption of the digital era and the threat of moral degradation, Qur’an Reading and Writing (BTA) learning faces significant challenges. Currently, BTA often gets caught up merely in cognitive and psychomotor aspects, such as reading fluency, while neglecting the affective aspect or the internalization of spiritual values into the students' souls. This study aims to analyze BTA learning strategies as a local content subject in their function to strengthen students' faith and character foundations, going beyond mere technical reading skills. This study uses a qualitative method with a library research approach. Data were collected through a literature analysis related to local content policies, Qur’an teaching methods, and character formation theory. The results of the study indicate that effective BTA learning strategies must integrate three main pillars: a competency-based curriculum and regional potential that emphasizes manners. Methods The reception and habituation that connect the verses of the Qur'an with the values of monotheism in a practical way. A holistic approach that positions the Qur'an as a fortress against extreme thinking and radicalism. This study offers a reorientation of Qur'an Reading and Writing learning from merely eradicating Qur'anic illiteracy to becoming a strategic instrument for strengthening ideology (aqidah) and morality (akhlaq) through a local content curriculum that is adaptive to the challenges of the times. Policymakers at the regional level are advised to develop a BTA curriculum guide that not only focuses on administrative reading graduation targets but also includes character achievement indicators (akhlaq) as a primary requirement for graduate competencies.

Abstract

Final-year female students are frequently confronted with a dilemma between pursuing further education and entering the workforce, which leads them either to postpone marriage or to prioritize personal relationships through marriage. This phase represents a transitional period toward professional life. Balancing academic responsibilities and marital life simultaneously presents considerable challenges. This study aimed to analyze the factors contributing to the emergence of the dilemma of marriage postponement, the strategies employed by female students in coping with the resulting internal conflicts, the perspective of Islamic family law on this dilemma, and the influence of educational attainment on partner selection criteria. This research adopted a qualitative method with a case study approach focusing on final-year female students at the Sekolah Tinggi Dirasat Islamiyah Imam Syafi’i. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with research participants, and analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model. The findings revealed that: (1) there are four primary factors contributing to the dilemma of marriage postponement among the students; (2) four key strategies are employed by the students to cope with the internal conflict associated with postponing marriage; (3) the dilemma of marriage postponement is perceived as a test of faith; and (4) educational level significantly influences the criteria used in selecting a prospective spouse.
