Abstract

This article discusses the role of the Qur'an in liberating women from femicide that occurred in pre-Islamic Arab culture. The study focuses on analyzing Surah An-Nahl (16): 58–59 and Surah At-Takwir (81): 8–9, which describe the practice of burying female infants alive and the negative attitudes of Arab society toward the birth of girls. This research employs a qualitative method using library research, with data sources drawn from classical and contemporary Qur'anic exegesis (tafsir), as well as other relevant literature. Data analysis is conducted using a descriptive-analytical approach. The data is examined by presenting the interpretations of Qur'anic commentators (mufassir) on the selected verses and analyzing their implications for the discourse on women's liberation in Islam. The findings show that the Qur'an explicitly criticizes the practice of burying female infants alive. Killing, discrimination, and unjust treatment of women are actions that contradict Islamic values and must be eradicated from society. The Qur'an seeks to liberate women from injustice and to uphold their dignity. In the contemporary context, new forms of femicide and violence against women continue to occur. Therefore, the values of women's liberation found in the Qur'an must be continually upheld and promoted through education, critical exegesis, legal reform, and social advocacy

Abstract

This study examines the fulfillment of environmental human rights as a form of harmony between humans and the environment from the perspective of the Qur'an. The increasingly alarming environmental degradation caused by human irresponsibility in utilizing natural resources forms the background of this research. This paper adopts a library research method by reviewing primary and secondary sources, including the Qur'an, classical exegesis works, and contemporary academic studies. The findings reveal that the Qur'an positions humans as stewards (khalifah) on earth, entrusted with the responsibility to preserve and cultivate the environment as part of the divine mandate. Environmental human rights necessitate treating nature with respect as a partner in humanity’s devotion to God. The Qur’anic principles of ecotheology emphasize that environmental balance is a prerequisite for human survival. The Qur'an provides ethical foundations for environmental preservation through the prohibition of causing harm and destruction (QS al-A’raf/7:56) and the command to utilize natural resources proportionally (QS al-Jumu’ah/62:10). Using a maqashid al-shari'ah approach, environmental protection is intrinsically linked to the preservation of religion, life, intellect, lineage, and property. This study asserts that humans, as part of the ecosystem, do not hold absolute rights over nature, but are obliged to maintain environmental balance and sustainability as a manifestation of their stewardship. It is hoped that this work can serve as a reference for strengthening the Islamic ecotheological paradigm in support of modern environmental conservation efforts

Abstract

The interpretation of the concept of heaven in the Qur'an which stops at a literal or exoteric dimension has basically narrowed the breadth of the meaning of the Qur'an, which in the end will give birth to an irresponsible reason to carry out jihad accompanied by acts of terror for the sake of get the pleasure of the angels who are prepared for the mujahid who struggles in the way of Allah SWT. This research is a qualitative research with literature study, the approach used is an esoteric approach in interpreting the verses of the Qur'an about heaven. This study concludes that, in his interpretation Al-Qusyairȋ classifies heaven into two categories, namely suspended heaven (muajjalah) and hastened heaven (mu'ajjalah). The suspended paradise (muajjalah), is heaven that will be obtained in the hereafter by going through a very long journey, is a form of elevation, and is a form of His generosity (jûdih) as a reward for those who are pious and do good deeds. The characteristics of this paradise are in the form of material meanings of dzahir as described in the verses of the Qur'an. And the hastened paradise (mu'ajjalah), is a paradise that can be obtained in the world by experts in essence and the magicians in the form of closeness (qûrbah) and is a veiling disclosure of various forms of occult secrets (kasyf al-ghithâ) which is interpreted with the essence of the nature of achievement (haqâiq al-wishâl) and closeness to Allah SWT as pleasure in carrying out obedience and peace of mind

Abstract

The interpretation of the Qur’an has undergone dynamic development in line with the growing awareness among Muslims of the importance of the principle of justice, particularly in the relationship between men and women. Within the development of contemporary Qur’anic thought, feminist exegesis has emerged as an approach that seeks to reconstruct perspectives on the sacred text by positioning women as active subjects in the interpretive process. This approach responds to the patriarchal bias that has shaped classical exegetical traditions, in which women are often portrayed in subordinate and marginalized roles. Amina Wadud is one of the central figures in feminist exegesis, offering a critical and contextual reading of the Qur’an. Through a hermeneutical approach that emphasizes the interrelation between text, context, and reader, Wadud highlights the importance of the Qur’an’s universal values such as tawḥīd (divine unity), justice, equality, and respect for human dignity as a foundation for building more just and equitable social relations. This study aims to examine Amina Wadud’s intellectual contributions to the development of feminist exegesis through a literature review of her major works, including Qur’an and Woman and Inside the Gender Jihad. Using a qualitative-descriptive method based on library research, this paper explores her methodology, thematic concerns, and the social and theological implications of her feminist readings. The findings indicate that the feminist approach developed by Wadud not only broadens the horizons of Qur’anic interpretation but also opens space for a more inclusive, just, and contextually grounded understanding. Her thought significantly contributes to shaping a more humanistic, socially responsive, and gender-equitable understanding of Islam

Abstract

Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah bahwa sumber rujukan Jamaah Tabligh dalam melakukan khurûj fî sabîlillâh adalah Al-Qur’an dan Hadis. Ayat-ayat yang dijadikan dasar diantaranya, yaitu QS. Ali Imran/3:104, QS. Ali Imran/3:110, dan QS. Fussilat/41:33, selebihnya Jamaah Tabligh tetap mengutip ayat-ayat yang dalam redaksinya berkaitan dengan dakwah serta merujuk beberapa hadis yang dijadikan sebagai dalil dalam melakukan khurûj fî sabîlillâh. Dengan demikian, tidak ada perbedaan yang prinsipil antara gerakan Jamaah Tabligh dengan umat Islam pada umumnya, yaitu sama-sama menjadikan Al-Qur’an dan Hadis sebagai sumber hukum Islam yang utama. Kesimpulan penelitian ini menguatkan posisi Jamaah Tabligh bahwa dalam memahami sejumlah ayat yang kemudian dijadikan sebagai basis argumen dalam melakukan khurûj fî sabîlillâh, dapat dikatakan bahwa pandangan Jamaah Tabligh mempunyai kemiripan dengan beberapa penafsir semisal Sayyid Quthub, Imam al-Thabari, Rasyid Ridha dan Quraish Shihab. Hal ini terlihat dari bagaimana jalan pemikiran Jamaah Tabligh ketika memaknai isi kandungan ayat utama untuk berdakwah dalam QS. Ali Imran/3:104. Ada sedikit perbedaan dalam memahami QS. Ali Imran/3:110 dan QS. Fussilat/41:33. Namun perbedaannya hanya terletak pada bagaimana metode Jamaah Tabligh dalam merealisasikan ayat-ayat dakwah. Penelitian ini mengunakan metode deskriptif analisis dengan menggunakan jenis penelitian kepustakaan (library research). Pemilihan jenis penelitian kepustakaan (library research) ini didasarkan atas objek yang diteliti, yakni nash atau teks yang berkaitan tentang ayat-ayat Al-Qur’an yang dijadikan dasar argumen Jamaah Tabligh dalam melakukan khurûj fî sabîlillâh

Abstract

Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini bahwa penafsiran-penafsiran M. Quraish Shihab terhadap Ayat-ayat Teologi Sunni-Syiah lebih cenderung moderat. Hal ini dibuktikan dengan adanya penafsiran-penafsiran beberapa pandangan Syiah yang menjadi pembahasan kontroversi M. Quraish Shihab, antara lain: makna Ahl al-Bait, makna Taqiyyah, makna Khalȋfah, makna Imam, makna Wali, makna Nikah Mut‘ah dan makna Sholat 3 Waktu dalam perspektif M. Quraish Shihab. Pengambilan serta kutipan penafsiran terhadap tokoh Syiah tidak lepas dari keilmuan yang didapat selama pembelajaran di al-Azhar Kairo dan setiap penafsiran memiliki ideologi tertentu dari penulisnya. Pendekatan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kualitatif dengan metode studi komparatif. Teknik pengumpulan datanya berupa studi pustaka dan observasi dianalisis dalam teknik pengumpulan data berupa deskriptif analisis dengan metode analisis komparatif (analytical-comparative method). Adapun teori yang digunakan untuk memperkuat sebagai pisau bedah penelitian adalah teori strukturalisme genetik dari Lucien Goldmann yang menjelaskan bahwa sebuah karya atau teks adalah karya pengarangnya dalam hal ini mufasir sebagai pembuat teks tersebut sekaligus kenyataan sejarah yang mengondisikan munculnya karya atau teks seperti demikian. Penelitian ini juga didasari asumsi-asumsi dalam teori struktural genetik yang melihat bahwa kecenderungan penafsiran secara umum dan khusus mengenai ayat-ayat teologi Sunni-Syiah yang tidak bisa dilepaskan dari konteks sosio-historis dari mufasir berada. Temuan dalam penelitian ini adalah bahwa semakin banyak pengambilan ide-ide dari sejumlah tokoh ideologi tertentu dalam suatu tafsir, maka semakin mendekatkan dan mencairkan dua sisi ideologi yang selama ini dianggap berlawanan

Abstract

Al-Qur’an bukanlah buku Ilmu Pengetahuan, meski di dalamnya terdapat ayat-ayat yang terkait dengan ilmu pengetahuan. Al-Qur’an bukan buku Sejarah, meski di dalamnya berisi ayat-ayat tentang kisah-kisah umat terdahulu dan peristiwa-peristiwa sejarah yang terjadi pada jaman Nabi Muhamad SAW. Al-Qur’an bukan pula buku Fiqih, meski di dalamnya terdapat ayat-ayat yang terkait dengan masalah fiqih dan ibadah. Demikian juga dengan bidang-bidang yang lainnya dalam kehidupan manusia yang disampaikan penjelasannya di dalam Al-Qur’an, tidak lantas menjadikan Al-Qur’an disebut dengan buku bidang tersebut. Namun pandangan Al-Qur’an terhadap suatu bidang atau permasalahan dalam kehidupan manusia tentu harus menjadi kajian dan ladasan utama seorang muslim dalam mengambil sikap. Lantas bagaimana Al-Qur’an berbicara tentang politik? Tulisan ini mencoba memaparkan bagaimana politik dalam perbincangan Al-Qur’an. Abstract

This research is discussing about the contextual purpose of jihad, that is included in QS. Al-Baqarah/2:190 using the Abdullah Saeed’s contextual perspective. The method that is used in this research is maudhû’î research method and contextual Qur’an interpretation approach initiated by Abdullah Saeed. The result that we find out from this research is the purpose of jihad by war that is written in QS. Al-Baqarah/2: 190 is included into “instructional values” from the hierarchy of moral values in accordance with Abdullah Saeed’s application on contextual approach. Jihad by war is a form of jihad that could be adapted based on the situation and condition that is faced by the people, in social, political, and cultural aspects. Jihad by war is also a defensive action that is done to protect the people from enemy’s oppression and is a last option that could be done by Moslem people

Abstract

Penelitian ini mendukung konsep keharmonisan di dalam keluarga, hal tersebut merupakan sebuah isyarat yang kuat di dalam Al-Qur’an. Fungsi keluarga menurut Tafsir Al-Azhar untuk memperoleh ketentraman (sakînah) di antara keduanya laki-laki dan perempuan, yaitu dapat menjalani rumah tangga yang harmonis, serta untuk menemukan ketenangan dalam memadu cinta kasih (mawaddah waraẖmah).Berkaitan dengan penelitian ini, ada beberapa poin yang bisa dilihat dalam membangun idealitas keluarga harmonis perspektif Tafsir Al-Azhar, yaitu: 1) membangun sebuah prinsip berpasangan dan berkesalingan/zawaj Surat Ar-Rûm/30: 21, di dalam keluarga harus ada ikatan mawaddah waraẖmah agar menjadi keluarga yang harmonis. 2) Berdoa kepada Tuhan agar mendapat pendamping dan keturunan (qurata ‘ayun) Surat Al-Furqân/25: 74. 3) membiasakan untuk saling berembuk bersama/musyawarah dan perilaku saling memberi kenyamanan atau kerelaan/tarâdhin pesan ini ada di dalam Surat Al-Baqarah/2: 233. 4) komitmen pada ikatan janji yang kokoh/mitsâqan ghalîzhan Surat An-Nisâ/4:21. 5) saling memperlakukan dengan baik/mu’asyarah bil ma’ruf surat An-Nisâ/4:19

Abstract

This article discusses the importance of financial behavior in achieving Financial Well-Being (FWB). Researchers conclude that Financial Well-Being FWB from the perspective of the Qur’an cannot be realized without the combination, collaboration, and integration of financial behavior and faith. All instruments of financial behavior are centered around an individual's faith, which influences its channels: firstly, Financial Capacity (working); secondly, Financial literacy and Financial knowledge; thirdly, Financial management behavior; fourthly, Financial attitude; and fifthly, locus of control. Thus, financial behavior controlled by faith will ensure that both worldly needs and investments for the hereafter are well-balanced and fulfilled
