Abstract

This study aims to analyze the contribution of teachers, identify the obstacles faced, and dissect the impact of the teacher's contribution in strengthening character based on Tri Kaya Parisudha teachings in Child-Friendly Schools at SD No. 3 Sempidi. Character issues such as bullying in elementary schools underlie the urgency of integrating Hindu moral values that align pure thoughts (Manacika), words (Wacika), and deeds (Kayika). This research employed a qualitative descriptive approach. Primary data were gathered through observations and in-depth interviews with the principal, Hindu religion teacher, special assistant teacher, and students, while secondary data were obtained via documentation study. The collected data were analyzed interactively through the stages of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results show that teachers contribute significantly as moral role models through integrated positive discipline practices. The obstacles faced include internal factors such as diverse hereditary traits, emotional instability, and varied learning interests, alongside external factors stemming from influences in the family, school, and community environments. This contribution yields positive transformative impacts on enhancing students' religiosity, inclusive tolerance among religious groups, and improving students' social etiquette and politeness in daily life. This study confirms the effectiveness of synergizing local religious wisdom with child-friendly school programs to realize a safe learning space free from violence.

Abstract

This study examines: (1) the actualization of Guru Bhakti teachings in interactions between tenth-grade students and teachers, (2) the obstacles encountered and efforts to overcome them, and (3) their impact on student attitudes and behavior at Saraswati 1 Senior High School (SLUA) Denpasar. This study aims to identify and describe the actualization of Guru Bhakti teachings in interactions between tenth-grade students and teachers in the subjects of Hindu Religious Education and Character Education. This study uses Carl Rogers' Humanistic Theory, Thomas Lickona's Character Education Theory, and George Herbert Mead and Herbert Blumer's Symbolic Interactionism Theory. The research subjects included the Vice Principal, the Hindu Religious Teacher, and tenth-grade students of Saraswati 1 Senior High School (SLUA) Denpasar. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, documentation, and literature review, then analyzed using qualitative phenomenological methods. The results of the study indicate that the actualization of Guru Bhakti has been implemented well, both inside and outside of learning. This is seen through verbal interactions such as greetings, salutations, polite language, and the 3S culture, as well as nonverbal interactions in the form of attention, politeness, and respect for teachers. The obstacles faced come from internal factors, such as the psychological condition and awareness of students, as well as external factors, such as family environment, peers, and teacher character. Efforts made to overcome these include an individual approach, character development, role models, and habituation of respectful attitudes. The impact is seen in increased respect, discipline, responsibility, politeness, and self-control of students.

Abstract

Hospitals do not only perform medical functions; they also operate within communities that hold distinct cultural values and customs, commonly referred to as local wisdom. This article presents a literature review aimed at: (1) identifying and analyzing the meaning of local wisdom from various references; (2) identifying and analyzing the forms of local wisdom implementation in the management and services of hospitals and other healthcare facilities; and (3) formulating a definition of local wisdom appropriate for healthcare service management. The review was conducted using a descriptive-qualitative literature review method on 15 sources, covering both foundational concepts of local wisdom and studies of its implementation in hospitals. The findings show that local wisdom refers to good values and customs rooted in local communities, which are dynamic in nature and may take tangible or intangible forms. Five hospital case studies from Indonesia — in Bali, Central Java, Maluku, and West Java — show that local wisdom is applied across three domains: spiritual, communication, and technical-service, with positive effects on patient satisfaction, hospital image, and staff teamwork. Based on these findings, an operational definition of local wisdom for healthcare service management is proposed: culturally rooted values and customs deliberately embedded into hospital policy and service delivery to build patient trust and comfort, without compromising clinical quality standards. This study also produces a practical checklist instrument for assessing the implementation of local wisdom in hospitals, intended for use by hospital administration students and practitioners alike.
