Abstract

The rapid advancement of digital technologies has transformed educational practices worldwide; however, Islamic religious education, particularly Fiqh instruction, continues to face challenges in conveying abstract concepts through conventional teaching approaches. This study examines research trends in the implementation of holographic technology in Islamic education and investigates its potential for supporting integrative learning. A bibliometric analysis was conducted on 655 documents indexed in Scopus between 1981 and 2026 using the keywords “Technology,” “Hologram,” “Islamic Learning,” “Education,” and “Learning.” The data were analyzed using VOSviewer to identify publication trends, thematic developments, and collaboration patterns. The findings reveal increasing scholarly interest in hologram-based Islamic religious education, with “Technology,” “E-Learning,” “Islamic Education,” and “Hologram” emerging as the most prominent keywords. The convergence of these themes highlights the potential of integrative learning approaches that combine Islamic religious instruction with digital innovations to enhance student engagement, conceptual understanding, and learning outcomes. Despite this growing interest, the research landscape remains limited and fragmented, suggesting that the field is still in an early stage of development and requires further investigation to establish robust pedagogical frameworks and implementation strategies. A key limitation of this study is its exclusive reliance on the Scopus database, which may exclude relevant publications indexed elsewhere and consequently limit the comprehensiveness of the bibliometric mapping.

Abstract

This article aims to examine how Islamic education can be reframed in response to the epistemic challenges of the post-truth era through the integration of Islamic epistemology and digital ethics via tabayyun literacy. It seeks to conceptualize tabayyun literacy as an epistemological framework for reconstructing digital literacy within the broader project of Islamization of knowledge. The research method used was qualitative library research with a conceptual-analytical approach. Data were derived from primary Islamic sources, particularly relevant Qur’anic verses and classical interpretations, as well as contemporary scholarly literature on Islamic epistemology, digital information ethics, critical media literacy, and post-truth discourse. The data were analyzed through thematic interpretation and integrative conceptual synthesis. The results of the study show that tabayyun literacy functions as an integrative epistemological framework that operationalizes the Islamic synthesis of revelation (wahy), reason (‘aql), and empirical verification in digital information practices. The findings indicate that tabayyun literacy extends digital literacy beyond technical verification by embedding moral accountability, epistemic vigilance, and critical reflection into information engagement. The study further demonstrates that integrating Islamic epistemology and digital ethics through tabayyun literacy contributes to reframing Islamic education from a transmissive model of knowledge delivery toward an epistemic-formative model centered on critical inquiry and ethical reasoning. This study concludes that tabayyun literacy provides a coherent conceptual foundation for renewing Islamic education in the post-truth era, enabling it to remain intellectually relevant, ethically grounded, and responsive to the challenges of digitally mediated societies.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a framework for measuring accountability in Islamic boarding schools (pesantren), adapted from the Islamic accountability measurement instruments used in Islamic financial institutions. This research is crucial in addressing the need to develop Islamic-based accountability measurement instruments applicable to Islamic boarding schools. Data in this study were obtained through questionnaires distributed to parents of students enrolled in Islamic boarding schools in Deli Serdang Regency, who participated as respondents. The analysis involved content validity testing, exploratory factor analysis, and internal reliability assessment to evaluate the proposed construct. The findings identified seven dimensions that may serve as indicators of Islamic accountability, namely amar ma’ruf nahi munkar (commanding good and preventing wrong doing), maslahat ummat (public benefit of the ummah), ‘adala (justice), ihsan (benevolence), amanah (trustworthiness), ikhlas (sincerity), and rahmah (compassion). This research highlights that accountability in Islam is not limited to administrative or procedural duties, but represents a multidimensional framework shaped by ethical, spiritual, and social principles.

Abstract

This study explores how Islamic boarding schools (pesantren) in Indonesia have evolved from the era of the 1945 Jihad Resolution to their present role in reinforcing religious nationalism. The research focuses on the ways of pesantren nurturinge the moral, intellectual, and patriotic character of Muslim communities. Using a qualitative descriptive approach supported by historical and literature-based analysis, this study examineds key documents and academic works related to the Jihad Resolution and the development of Islamic education. The results indicated that pesantren were not only active in the struggle for independence through the mobilization of santri and kyai, but also cultivated a spiritual form of nationalism that tied religious devotion to love of the homeland. This legacy later developed into a model of religious nationalism that promotes moderation, pluralism, and civic ethics. Overall, pesantren remain essential institutions in preserving Indonesia’s national identity and social harmony amid contemporary challenges.
