Abstract

This study is based on cases of violence in schools which include cases of bullying that still often occur. To overcome violence in schools, the government issued Permendikbudristek number 46 of 2023 concerning the handling of acts of violence in schools. In this regulation, the government requires every school to form a Violence Prevention and Handling Team (TPPK) to reduce the increasing cases of violence in schools. The problem is that since this regulation was issued on August 4, 2023 until February 2024, only 79.39% of schools have formed it. On the other hand, cases of violence in schools still often occur today. The purpose of this study is to determine the correlation between TPPK that has been formed in schools and acts of violence and bullying behavior. The research method used is quantitative correlation to determine the relationship between variables involving three research variables, namely the TPPK variable, the school violence variable and the bullying behavior variable. The population of this study was 1,527 high school students in Semarang who had experienced violence at school or who had been victims of bullying. The sampling technique used was a simple random sampling. The sample of this research was 248 students from 9 public high schools and 10 private high schools in Semarang. Data analysis used the Mann Whitney U Test and simple linear regression supported by IBM SPSS Statistics 25 from Windows software. The results of the study showed that the formation of TPPK was able to minimize acts of violence and bullying behavior in schools. However, the acts of violence and bullying behavior that occurred did not show significant differences in results, both in schools that had formed TPPK and those that had not. These results indicate that the TPPK that has been formed in schools is not fully effective even though it has influenced violent behavior in schools. For this reason, the role of TPPK members still needs to be improved by providing skills training in preventing and handling violence in schools.

Abstract

This study investigates the influence of self-confidence, cultivated through the internalization of Ta’lim Muta’allim values, on students' career choices. Ta’lim Muta’allim values, emphasizing discipline, respect, and the pursuit of knowledge, are hypothesized to significantly contribute to the development of students' self-confidence, a crucial determinant in career decision-making. The research aims to analyze how self-confidence, fostered by these values, impacts students' career preferences and pathways. A quantitative descriptive method was employed, with a sample of 242 students from Madrasah Aliyah Muallimat NW Pancor, Lombok, selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using a questionnaire assessing self-confidence in the context of Ta’lim Muta’allim values and a career choice survey. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and the Kruskal-Wallis Test with the JASP application. Results indicate that students' self-confidence levels were generally high and moderate, influenced by Ta’lim Muta’allim values. Furthermore, no significant differences in self-confidence levels were found across different career choices. Among the nine career choice categories, the average self-confidence level of students was high, with some categories, such as business and finance and diplomacy and governance, falling within the moderate range. In conclusion, this study provides valuable insights into how Ta’lim Muta’allim values, by enhancing self-confidence, play a crucial role in shaping students' career trajectories.

Abstract

This study aims to investigate the influence of authoritative parenting style, social support, and self-regulated learning (SRL) ability in university students. The approach used is quantitative with a post-positivism view and ex post facto method. The research sample consisted of 80 early semester students at UIN Alauddin who were selected using the saturated sample method. Data were collected through a Likert scale-based questionnaire and analysed using SmartPLS version 4.0. The results showed that social support did not have a significant direct influence on SRL, with a coefficient (β) of 0.000 and a P-Value of 0.999, indicating that social support alone is not enough to improve SRL ability. However, authoritative parenting style had a significant influence on SRL with a coefficient of 0.627 and a P-Value of 0.000, indicating a strong positive relationship. This authoritative parenting style encourages students to be more independent, responsible, and more able to organise their learning independently. The interaction analysis shows that social support acts as a moderator that strengthens the relationship between authoritative parenting style and SRL. At high levels of social support, the positive impact of authoritative parenting style on SRL was greater, whereas at low levels of social support, this relationship weakened. In conclusion, social support strengthens the effectiveness of authoritative parenting style in improving SRL. Therefore, efforts to improve college students' SRL need to integrate adequate social support with a supportive parenting style. These findings provide implications for educational institutions and families in creating an environment that supports the development of students' self-regulation abilities in the early semesters.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the influence of hedonic shopping motivation, shopping lifestyle, and store atmosphere on impulse buying among customers of the Aeon Mall BSD City department store. Impulse buying refers to consumer behavior where purchases are made spontaneously without prior planning, often driven by external factors or momentary emotions. The variables examined include hedonic shopping motivation, which refers to the consumer's drive to shop for enjoyment or entertainment; shopping lifestyle, which reflects an individual's habitual shopping patterns and preferences; and store atmosphere, encompassing physical environmental elements of the store such as lighting, layout, music, and scent. Data collection was conducted through a questionnaire distributed to 100 respondents selected using simple random sampling. The data was analyzed using SPSS version 20 to examine the relationship between the independent variables and impulse buying behavior. The results of this study indicate that hedonic shopping motivation significantly affects impulse buying, suggesting that the higher the motivation for enjoying the shopping experience, the greater the likelihood of making unplanned purchases. Additionally, shopping lifestyle was found to have an effect on impulse buying, with individuals who embrace a shopping-oriented lifestyle being more likely to engage in impulsive buying behavior. However, the analysis revealed that store atmosphere did not have a significant impact on impulse buying, indicating that the physical environmental factors of the store do not necessarily serve as key triggers for spontaneous purchases. This research provides valuable insights for retail management in designing more effective marketing strategies to encourage impulse buying behavior among consumers.

Abstract

Sarcopenia, an age-related progressive loss of muscle mass and function, is a significant public health concern that increases the risk of frailty, falls, and disability among older adults. Inflammation plays a crucial role in accelerating muscle degradation, making anti-inflammatory interventions essential in managing sarcopenia. This study employs a qualitative approach through literature review and library research to explore the potential of omega-3 fatty acids as a therapeutic strategy for preventing muscle loss and mitigating inflammation in sarcopenic patients. Omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs), particularly eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA), exhibit potent anti-inflammatory properties that regulate cytokine production and muscle protein synthesis pathways. Existing studies indicate that omega-3 supplementation can enhance muscle protein anabolism, reduce systemic inflammation, and improve physical function in older adults at risk of sarcopenia. Moreover, omega-3 fatty acids modulate key inflammatory markers such as tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α) and interleukin-6 (IL-6), which are linked to muscle degradation. Through an in-depth analysis of scientific literature, this study highlights the potential benefits of omega-3 supplementation as a non-pharmacological intervention for sarcopenia. However, further clinical trials are needed to determine the optimal dosage, duration, and long-term effects of omega-3 on muscle preservation. The findings of this study contribute to the growing body of research advocating for dietary interventions as a preventive strategy against age-related muscle loss and chronic inflammation.

Abstract

The teaching of biographical recount texts in tenth grade often encounters obstacles such as low student comprehension, a lack of engagement in the learning process, and the use of conventional teaching methods that are less effective. This indicates a need for interactive learning media capable of enhancing student understanding and motivation. This research aims to develop interactive multimedia-based learning media for biographical recount text materials, which not only presents the material but also incorporates visual, audio, and video elements to increase student engagement. The focus of this study is to measure the effectiveness of the media in improving students' comprehension of biographical texts. This research employs the Research and Development (R&D) method, utilizing the ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation) development model. The subjects of the research were tenth-grade students at SMA Negeri 1 Tanjung Balai in the 2024-2025 academic year. Data were collected through questionnaires, learning achievement tests, and interviews. Effectiveness testing was conducted by comparing the learning outcomes of students who used interactive media with those who used conventional teaching methods. The results showed that interactive multimedia-based learning media had an effectiveness rate of 84.28%, which is categorized as very good. The average score of students who used the interactive media was 84.3, which is higher than the average score of students who used conventional methods, which was 65.1.

Abstract

This classroom action research (CAR) examines the efficacy of Canva-based learning media in enhancing secondary students’ procedural writing skills. Addressing the common challenges of structuring logical sequences and articulating details in procedural texts, the study involved 30 tenth-grade students at an Indonesian public high school, selected through purposive sampling due to persistent difficulties in writing tasks. Over two iterative cycles, Canva’s visual design tools—templates, icons, and multimedia elements—were integrated into instructional strategies to scaffold students’ understanding of procedural text components (goal, materials, steps). Data were triangulated through pre- and post-tests, observational checklists, and student questionnaires, analyzed quantitatively via descriptive statistics and qualitatively through thematic coding. Results demonstrated significant progress: mean scores rose from 62.3 (pre-test) to 82.4 (Cycle 2), with pass rates (≥65) surging from 30% to 90%. Observational data revealed increased engagement, with active participation climbing from 65% (Cycle 1) to 90% (Cycle 2), while questionnaires indicated 90% of students credited Canva for improved idea organization. The intervention’s success aligns with Mayer’s Cognitive Theory of Multimedia Learning, as dual-coding visual-textual stimuli reduced cognitive load and reinforced retention. Additionally, collaborative features in Canva fostered peer feedback, aligning with Vygotsky’s social constructivism. Challenges in Cycle 1, such as incoherent transitions, were remediated in Cycle 2 through focused editing exercises and animated simulations. The study underscores Canva’s potential as a pedagogical tool for procedural writing, emphasizing its accessibility and capacity to bridge creativity with structured learning. Recommendations include teacher training in digital design tools and further research on Canva’s applicability across diverse text genres and educational contexts.

Abstract

This study explores the application of Game Theory in ethical decision-making processes, employing a qualitative research method through literature review and library research. The primary objective is to analyze how Game Theory models, such as the Prisoner's Dilemma and Nash Equilibrium, can provide insights into the dynamics of ethical decisions within various social and organizational contexts. By reviewing existing literature, the study identifies key factors influencing ethical behavior, such as individual incentives, cooperation, and the impact of strategic interactions. The findings suggest that Game Theory provides a robust framework for understanding ethical dilemmas, particularly in situations where personal interests may conflict with collective well-being. Additionally, the research highlights the importance of considering long-term consequences and repeated interactions when applying Game Theory to ethics, as these elements can encourage cooperation and reduce unethical behavior. The study also acknowledges the limitations of Game Theory in fully capturing the complexity of moral and ethical considerations, as it is often grounded in rational choice theory, which may not account for emotional or cultural factors. Nevertheless, this research contributes to the broader understanding of how theoretical models can inform ethical decision-making and proposes further interdisciplinary studies to refine the integration of Game Theory into ethical frameworks.
