Abstract

The aim of the development of the teaching material is to produce a prototype of teaching material that focuses on improving the listening skill in learning Indonesian for Foreigners (BIPA). The teaching material developed using American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Language (ACTFL) as the reference of material development based on the level of language skill of the students. The listening teaching material obtained a score of 60% on the aspect of the content of teaching material, 58% on the aspect of the systematic of teaching material, 62% on the aspect of the language uses of teaching material, and 60, 41% on the aspect of the layout of teaching material. Based on the score obtained, the teaching material developed is in the category of “feasible enough to be implemented” and need to revise based on the criticisms, suggestions, and comments from the learning experts and practitioners of BIPA.

Abstract

This study examines the correlation between speaking performance and grammatical competence, particularly in the EFL context, by including cognitive learning styles and the Strategy Inventory for Language Learning (SILL). The correlational study is employed to analyze the scores of argumentative speaking and written grammar tests of 30 Economics students at STIE Malangkuceswara Malang. It is found that there is no significant correlation between speaking performance and grammatical competence. However, FI students outperformed in speaking, and FD students surpassed in grammar. In fact, those who scored higher on both tests used more SILLs than those who scored lower.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a PBL-based module that is valid, practical and effective, based on the results of the CpMMV resistant soybean hybridization cluster analysis research. Modules are developed using the ASIE instructional design model. Data was collected using validation questionnaire, critical thinking essay questions, and student responses questionnaire. Data analysis using quantitative descriptive analysis techniques and N-gain score. The results showed that the average percentage of module validity was 93% with highly valid criteria. The practicality of the module shows a percentage of 78% with rather practical criteria. The module's effectiveness in increasing critical thinking skills is rather effective with an average percentage of 56.40% and N-gain value of 0.56 with the medium category.

Abstract

This study aims to reveal the perceptions and needs of pre-service biology teachers on biotechnology learning and their need for instructional media, especially on the topic of basic molecular biology techniques. This descriptive quantitative study was done purposively on 42 students who have completed the biotechnology lectures in Biology Education Program, Universitas Negeri Malang. The data collection instruments consisted of a biotechnology topic difficulty survey questionnaire and a felt needs questionnaire. The questionnaire response data analyzed using descriptive statistics showed that students perceived the laboratory activity of basic molecular biology techniques as a moderate level. On average, all students performed DNA analysis techniques, and only 55% of all students performed protein analysis techniques. Overall, students have feelings, understanding, and confidence at a moderate level, while they feel they have excellent learning assistance. Even so, students feel they need learning resources in the form of research-based multimedia to support learning on the topic of practicum on molecular biology analysis techniques, especially in protein analysis techniques. Research-based protein analysis techniques multimedia that is suitable for students' university cognitive development are considered to be developed in supporting biotechnology learning for pre-service biology teachers.

Abstract

Describing the level of creative thinking ability of elementary school students with field independent cognitive style in solving open ended questions is the goal of this study. The indicators used to observe the level of creative thinking ability, namely, fluency, flexibility, and originality are divided into five levels, but findings in the field there are only three levels, namely tbk1, tbk3, and tbk4. The subjects in this study were 3 grade vb students of sd islam mohamad hatta who had a field independent cognitive style with a classification of high, medium and low mathematical abilities. In this study, data were obtained by means of the group embedded figures test (geft), open-ended questions, and interviews. The results of this study indicate that the level of creative thinking that can be identified, namely fd students with high mathematical abilities meet the indicators of creative thinking aspects of fluency, flexibility and novelty so that they are included in the very creative category (tbk4), fd students with moderate mathematical abilities meet the indicators of creative thinking aspects of fluency and flexibility but does not meet the novelty aspect so that it is declared creative (tbk 3) and fd students with low math abilities are only able to meet the fluency aspect so they are declared less creative (tbk 1).

Abstract

The development aims to produce a valid and practical module about Enviropreneur Sampah based on problem-based learning. The development uses the ADDIE model which has five steps, there are analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The validity of the modules is assessed by validators of teaching material experts, material experts, and field practitioners (teacher). The practicality of the module is assessed by the module user (student). The results of the analysis showed that the validity of the materials (content) was 100%, the validity of the teaching materials was 100%. The validity in the field practitioners (teacher) was 87.6%, and the practicality module was 81.54%. Based on the analysis results show that the developed module is valid and practical. The analysis shows that the module developed is valid and practical.
