Abstract

During the Covid-19 pandemic, learning was carried out online using an e-learning system. With this system, all students and teachers can even carry out learning even though they are at home. This study aims to analyze teachers' intentions in using e-learning during the covid-19 pandemic. This study uses a modified model of TAM (Technology Acceptance Model). This study uses 7 Likert scales in measuring all indicators. The data analysis method uses Structured Equation Models (SEM). The results of the study show that perceived ease of use (USE) has a significant effect on teacher intentions in utilizing e-learning, while perceived ease of use (EASE) has no significant effect on the use of e-learning. Gender was not proven to be a moderating variable on the relationship between USE and EASE with teachers' intentions to use e-learning. Teacher age strengthens the USE relationship to e-learning use. However, teacher age weakens the relationship between EASE and e-learning use. Male and female teachers have the same understanding regarding e-learning. In addition, teachers with a more mature age see e-learning as a system that provides benefits for them to carry out their duties as teachers. They also focus more on improving performance. On the other hand, teachers with more mature ages are less concerned about the ease of using e-learning.

Abstract

Acceptance of technology takes as a crucial role in context of the technology adoption. Before encouraging the maximal use of technology, it is important that users have to first acknowledge its use and that they have to also accept it. The current study was proposed in aims to examine the validity and the reliability of the Indonesian version of instrument investigating TAM constructs such as perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, and behavioural intention. The questionnaire was adopted to elaborate the undergraduate students’ technology acceptance of WhatsApp, Google Classroom, and Microsoft Teams as online platform to support online English learning based on the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM). Data were collected from 370 undergraduate students from different universities in Indonesia and the study applied Rasch analysis technique to address the Rasch assumptions such as items dimensionality, person and item reliability, person and item mapping, rating scale, and differential items functioning measure. The findings of the study suggested that the adopted and translated to Indonesian questionnaire was found to be sufficient in context of psychometric characteristics and was considered eligible to measure the technology acceptance of online platforms used for English online learning.

Abstract

The unemployment rate among educated people in Indonesia is increasing every year as the Central Statistics Agency noted that from 2016 to 2020 it was 7.35%. The increasing number of unemployed among the educated is supported by the fact that most university graduates prefer to be job seekers rather than job creators. This shows that the entrepreneurial intention of students is still low, so entrepreneurship learning is needed to grow technopreneurship intentions. This study aims to analyze the effect of entrepreneurial learning on students' technopreneurship intention. This is an explanatory survey conducted using questionnaires to collect data followed by testing of hypothesis and analyzing the data through the regression technique. The population involved 112 students and a saturated sample was used. The results showed that the overall student entrepreneurial learning is effective and student technology-based business activities are high. Moreover, the entrepreneurial learning variable was found to affect students' technology-based business activities. This implies it is necessary to increase entrepreneurial learning by participating deeply in industry, recognizing opportunities through cultural participation, and applying the practical theory of entrepreneurial action to increase the technopreneurship intention of students.

Abstract

Surveys from some research on Indonesian student’s literacy skills showed irregularity with Indonesia's literacy rate. Therefore, it can be said that most of Indonesians have already been literate, in terms of education. Nonetheless, their literacy skills in common still remains weak. Moreover, student’s low literacy skills are deemed as the result of low interest at reading. A number of problems in reading skill is closely associated with limited reading experiences and practices. The current research aims to describe student’s knowledge and thinking skills in a Li-Pro-GP model of instruction. The syntax of this learning model is project-based learning that is integrated with the School Literacy Movement (SLM) and Character Education Reinforcement (CER) programs. The research fell into a descriptive research model.  Research subjects, seventh graders attending IPA instructions. Data of the research were analyzed descriptively, which indicated improvement in terms of knowledge and thinking skills amidst students. In addition, the highest level of language use was found at the test for Aspect C2, C4, C5, and C6, whilst the highest level of conceptual truth was indicated at Aspect C3. On the other hand, the lowest level of giving argumentation appeared at all aspects. In sum, the highest level of skills was indicated by the language use, while the lowest at the student’s confidence in giving argumentation.

Abstract

Students are less active in online biology learning due to internet connection disturbances, so student learning outcomes are lower than face-to-face learning. This study aims to explore and analyze the learning model used by biology teachers in online learning, student competency achievement, and supporting and inhibiting factors that influence student competency achievement. This research is a descriptive research using survey method. The sample in this study used an accidental sample, namely a class XI biology teacher. The data analysis technique uses descriptive techniques by looking for the mode of answers given by respondents. The results showed that the biology online learning model used by the teacher was the PBL and guided inquiry learning models. The competency achievement of class XI high school students during online learning was still low, and the supporting factors for achieving student competency were the learning models often used, while the inhibiting factor was low student motivation. and not active in learning. The application of learning models is more optimized and encourages students to be more active when learning activities take place. The teacher must play a role in increasing student learning motivation so that it can foster student enthusiasm.

Abstract

Self-regulated learning was one of the factors that can determine the success of learning in the application of online learning during the COVID-19 pandemic. However, researchers have not thoroughly discussed the factors of individual learning (learning motivation and self-efficacy) and social influences (authoritative parenting) that can develop students' self-regulated learning skills. This study aims to analyze the effect of learning motivation and authoritative parenting on self-regulated learning through self-efficacy as a mediator. This study used a quantitative approach, and the number of respondents was 310 students of class XI Social Science High School. Respondents were selected based on the proportional random sampling technique. Data were analyzed using multiple regression with SPSS 22. The results showed that self-efficacy partially mediated the effect of learning motivation and authoritative parenting on self-regulated learning. The results of this study provide theoretical development and make it easier for educational institutions, school principals, teachers, students, and parents to obtain information related to self-regulated learning during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Abstract

Scientific writing is one of the language skills that needs to be developed for students. But in reality, there are still many students who have problems with writing. Based on this phenomenon, it is necessary to present a model in scientific writing. One of the models presented in this study is the CORONA model. This study aims to analyze the validity and effectiveness of the CORONA model. This research was conducted through Focus Group Discussion (FGD) from language education experts. This study applies a weak experiment, which is a pre-experimental design with one group pre-test and post-test design. The research sample consisted of two groups, each of which consisted of 26 students. Prior to learning with the CORONA model, students were given a pre-test on scientific writing skills, as well as after learning was carried out students were given the same test. Data was collected using instrument validity sheets and tests. Data on the validity and reliability of the model were analyzed by expert agreement, while data on students' scientific writing skills were analyzed by pair t-test, n-gain, and two means similarity test. The results showed that: content and construct validity were valid each category with a score of 3.3 and 3.5; and reliable with a score of 85.90% and 85.53%. In addition, the results of the study also showed that there was a significant increase in students' scientific writing skills with the mean n-gain being in the high category and not different for the two groups.
