Abstract

Evaluation of learning in Citizenship Education courses must be developed in a variety of ways with online-based learning evaluations so that students can improve learning outcomes. Conventional evaluation methods can affect student learning outcomes, so educators must always innovate in learning activities. This study aims to determine the use of online-based Wondershare Quiz Creator evaluation media that can increase the average value of Citizenship Education courses for S1 Catering students at Yogyakarta State University. This study used an experimental method consisting of two groups, namely the Pre-test and Post-test groups. The sample was selected using cluster random sampling technique and multiple-choice test with a total of 20 questions. Data analysis shows that there is a significant difference between the results of the Pre-test and Post-test t, the average value of the Post-test t is 79.50 which is higher than the average value of the Pre-test of the experimental group is 69.30. The results of the research in the field prove that there is an effect of using conventional evaluation methods with online-based evaluations with online-based Wondershare Quiz Creator evaluation media which is known from the results of students' pre-test and Post-test scores on the evaluation of the Citizenship Education course.

Abstract

Micro-teaching focuses on student collaboration efforts to improve teaching skills. This focus implies that students strive and are committed to helping and supporting each other in exploring their potential through various learning experiences. The division of study groups in the micro-teaching class is an integral part to encourage collaboration between peers. However, problems still arise because all members do not commit to supporting teaching skills as the ultimate goal of micro-teaching learning. The purpose of this research is to examine the difference on the teaching skills of the prospective physical education teachers based on their group learning commitment. This research used quantitative comparative design method. Samples involved were 41 students who were programming the micro-teaching course. Data on teaching skills were collected using observation guidelines and data on group learning commitment were collected using the Organization Commitment Scale. The findings proved that those with high group learning commitment have better teaching skills than those with low group learning commitment. Group learning commitment can help students have good teaching skills through creating a comfortable feeling in learning, following up on reflection as a responsibility to improve themselves, and trying to help colleagues through the role of observer and reflection.

Abstract

The impact of the COVID-19 pandemic affects psychological conditions and patterns of human behavior that have a broader nature over a longer time. This also has an impact on the education system in Indonesia. Teachers and students will get used to doing distance learning interactions. The Work from Home policy applies to lecturers/employees and learning from home for students. This study aims to analyze online learning activities during the Covid-19 pandemic in the Tarbiyah Department. This study uses a descriptive method with a qualitative approach with informants consisting of lecturers and students in the Department of Tarbiyah Education. Based on the results of the study, it can be seen that the learning carried out during the Covid-19 pandemic in the education department used an online model with applications in the form of V-class, Meet Unsil, Zoom, WhatsApp, Telegram, Google Classroom, Youtube, Facebook, and Messenger. The implementation of online learning runs smoothly, although it is felt less than ideal. Student learning outcomes vary, ranging from unsatisfactory, moderate to good. Constraints faced by students and lecturers in online learning including the availability of internet quota, unstable network, and supporting tools such as gadgets and laptops. Online learning is considered effective if it is applied during the COVID-19 pandemic, but a more varied model is needed to keep it interesting if used in the long term.

Written works published by teachers are part of the characteristics of professional teachers through the culture of writing and researching. On the other hand, scientific publications are also an effort to improve the mastery of science and skills in carrying out lifelong learning for teachers. This study aims to gather information, analyze, and describe the ability, training needs of elementary school teachers in scientific publications including the inhibiting factors and the solutions needed. The study was conducted using a mixed research method with an explanatory design involving 87 elementary school teachers. Data was collected through survey techniques, interviews, documentation, and observation. Data analysis was carried out using quantitative, qualitative and triangulation descriptive techniques. The results of the study indicate that although socialization and training on continuous professional development are received by teachers, the fact is that the knowledge and skills of teachers in scientific publications are still very low. Some of the inhibiting factors for teachers in scientific publications include lack of mastery of scientific writing techniques, lack of IT skills, Weak scientific writing skills, low teacher literacy, lack of available references, motivation, time, widespread scientific writing services, and lack of training. Alternative solutions that can be recommended include 1) improvement of the higher education system, especially Educational Personnel Education Institutions, and 2) education and training based on the needs of teachers in scientific publications.

Abstract

Students' creative thinking skills are low when using conventional learning media. Thus, the civic education learning process requires innovative learning media such as a digital-based mind map to improve students' creative thinking skills. This study analyzed the effect of digital-based mind map media on tenth-grade students' creative thinking skills in learning civic education at Vocational High School. This research was a quasi-experimental study with a quantitative approach. Data collection used to pretest and post-test. Hypothesis testing used t-test analysis with a significance level of 5%. The sample was determined through a random sampling technique totalling 62 students divided into two classes. The results showed that the score in the post-test was more significant than 9.790, and the ttable at df 60 was 2,000, and a significance value of 0.000 was smaller than the significance level of 5% (0.000 <0.05). Therefore, it can be concluded that there was a significant effect of digital-based mind map media on the creative thinking ability of tenth-grade students in learning civic education at Vocational High School.

Abstract

The context of learning in the 4.0 revolution era is currently a challenge, especially in the world of education at the university level. The creative learning process needs to be developed so that learning patterns need to be updated by placing students as learning subjects (student-centered learning) and applying more flexible learning media in accordance with technological advances in the field of education to develop student abilities. The use of e-modules is one type of e-resources that can be accessed and displayed using computer-based media as an alternative choice by students in obtaining lecture materials and learning processes independently. This study aims to determine the level of closeness of the relationship and see whether or not there is a simultaneous (together) and partial effect between digital literacy and student self-directed learning. This research leads to quantitative research. The results showed that there was a correlation of 0.705 and had a simultaneous effect of 0.000 < 0.005 with a calculated Fcount of 31.71 > Ftable 3.32 and tcount = 5.631 > ttable = 1.69092. It can be concluded that there is a strong correlation level and has a simultaneous and partial influence between digital literacy and students' self-directed learning on the use of the e-module on learning process and outcomes evaluation courses.

Abstract

Skills are an essential aspect that every individual should have. One of the critical skills essential in making education and employment successful in the 21st century is critical thinking skills. A person with critical thinking skills can search for understand, and evaluate a statement by analyzing logical and rational relevant matters in problem-solving or decision-making processes. This study aims to analyze the influence of science process skills on critical thinking skills. The sampling technique used is total sampling, with a sample of 60 practicants. This research is descriptive quantitative research with experimental methods through observation sheet instruments and essay test. Data analysis techniques were used, namely descriptive statistics and inferential statistics. The data analysis obtained science process skills of grade VII students at SMPN 8 Batanghari have been categorized as good, but more dominant in female students with a percentage of 79.5%. Meanwhile, critical thinking skills have also been classified as critical and dominant in female students, 46.2% in the highly critical category. Based on the study results, obtained p-value 0.000/2= 0.000, 0.000<0.05, meaning there is an influence of science process skills on students' critical thinking skills. It is hoped that this research can contribute to schools in Indonesia.
