Abstract

The formation of religious character in early childhood has become a central concern in Islamic education, especially in responding to rapid social and cultural changes. Schools are increasingly expected to deliver academic knowledge and shape values that guide children’s behavior and identity. This research explored how curriculum management contributes to cultivating religious character among students at RA Islam An-Naas Cakura, Takalar. Adopting a qualitative phenomenological design, this study involved teachers, school leaders, and parents as participants, selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observations, and documentation, with the researcher as the primary instrument supported by field notes and recording tools. The findings reveal three main themes: integrating Islamic values into the curriculum, habituating religious practices such as prayer and Qur’an recitation, and the central role of teachers’ modeling reinforced by parental support at home. Challenges such as inconsistent parental involvement and limited facilities emerged as significant barriers. This study concludes that effective curriculum management for character education relies on continuous collaboration between schools, families, and communities. Its contribution lies in extending character education theory by contextualizing it within Islamic early childhood education, while practically offering a model that strengthens home–school synergy in religious formation.

Abstract

The development of digital technology is driving significant transformation in higher education management, particularly in aspects of leadership, organizational learning, and educational innovation. This study aims to analyze the influence of digital leadership and organizational learning on educational innovation and its implications on university performance through a multilevel approach. The study used a quantitative approach with an explanatory design, involving 178 respondents consisting of lecturers and education staff at Ichsan Gorontalo Utara University. Data was collected through a Likert scale questionnaire and analyzed using SEM-PLS with the help of SmartPLS 4.0 and supported by multilevel analysis. The results showed that digital leadership had a significant effect on organizational learning (β = 0.66; t = 8.12; p < 0.001), organizational learning had a significant effect on educational innovation (β = 0.59; t = 7.45; p < 0.001), and educational innovation had a significant effect on university performance (β = 0.63; t = 8.01; p < 0.001). In addition, educational innovation was shown to partially mediate the relationship between digital leadership and institutional performance (β = 0.40; t = 6.32; p < 0.001). The results of the multilevel analysis showed an ICC value of 0.19–0.23 which indicates a significant influence between organizational levels. This study concludes that digital transformation in higher education requires the integration of digital leadership, organizational learning, and educational innovation in a systemic manner to improve institutional performance.

Abstract

The concentration of students during learning often decreases due to monotonous teaching patterns, which creates a gap in practical strategies to sustain focus, particularly in Islamic education contexts. This research addresses that gap by examining ice-breaking management's role in enhancing students’ learning concentration in Al-Qur’an Hadis classes at MTs Assalam Timbuseng. The primary purpose of this study was to empirically test whether the application of structured ice-breaking strategies significantly influences students’ concentration during lessons. A quantitative approach with an ex-post facto design was applied. The population comprised all 58 seventh-grade students, who were included as the total sample. Data were collected through Likert-scale questionnaires and documentation, and the validity and reliability of the instrument were confirmed using Pearson correlation and Cronbach’s Alpha. Statistical analysis was conducted using simple linear regression through SPSS 25. The results indicate that ice-breaking strategies significantly positively affect learning concentration. The regression coefficient was positive, and the model was significant at p < 0.05, confirming that higher ice-breaking implementation correlates with increased concentration levels among students. These findings conclude that the research hypothesis is accepted, providing clear evidence that ice breaking is not merely an entertaining tool but a pedagogical strategy that enhances attention and engagement. Theoretically, the study reinforces learning and motivation theories emphasizing external stimuli, while practically, it offers applicable insights for teachers to create more dynamic, enjoyable, and effective classrooms in Islamic education.

Abstract

This classroom action research addressed the limited development of fine motor skills among children aged 4–5 years at TK Negeri Bonto Sinjai Tengah, where the initial learning process was characterized by low engagement and the lack of effective learning media. Grounded in constructivist theory and experiential learning, playdough was managed as a medium to create meaningful and enjoyable activities. The purpose of this study was to improve both the process of teaching and learning and the achievement of children’s fine motor skills through iterative action cycles. The research was designed as classroom action research (Kemmis & McTaggart model), carried out in two cycles involving one teacher and children in a kindergarten class. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, then analyzed descriptively and qualitatively to capture improvements in behavior and learning outcomes. Findings revealed that each cycle contributed to positive changes: children became more skillful in manipulating objects, more creative in shaping materials, and more engaged in classroom activities. It was concluded that using playdough as a learning medium transformed classroom dynamics, strengthened the teacher’s role as facilitator, and encouraged active participation. This study contributes theoretically by reinforcing experiential learning models, practically by offering replicable strategies for teachers, and institutionally by suggesting policies that support the integration of concrete media in early childhood education.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the strategy of Islamic Green Education in building ecological awareness through learning Islamic religion as a green design of the green economy in the madrasah environment. The background of this research departs from the low integration of ecotheology values in PAI learning which tends to focus on the cognitive realm, so that students' ecological awareness has not been formed optimally. The research method used is a qualitative approach with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation studies. The data obtained were analyzed descriptively to explore the extent of the application of ecotheological values in the learning process of Islam. The results of the study show that the implementation of Islamic Green Education in PAI learning is still limited and has not been systematically structured. The main influencing factors are the lack of integration of ecotheological values in the curriculum, the limited creativity of teachers in linking Islamic teachings with environmental issues, and the lack of institutional support. However, it was found that students were more enthusiastic and easily understood Islamic teachings when associated with the practice of maintaining the daily environment. Therefore, a solution strategy is needed in the form of developing an ecotheology-based curriculum, improving teacher competence, and forming a green madrasah ecosystem that involves the community.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the downstream strategy of character education in shaping the independence and creativity of students in elementary schools. The background of the research departs from the importance of character education which is not only taught theoretically, but also practiced in real activities so that students are able to internalize these values in daily life. The research method used is a qualitative approach with observation, interview, and documentation techniques to obtain in-depth data. The results of the study show that the downstream strategy is able to increase children's independence, characterized by the courage to make decisions, self-management, and responsibility for tasks. Students' creativity also develops through project-based activities, simulations, and contextual learning that provide space for experimentation and imagination. The role of teachers as facilitators has proven to be crucial in creating a learning environment that encourages freedom of expression, while parental support strengthens the application of character values at home.

Abstract

Islamic education plays a crucial role not only in shaping the holistic development of human beings but also as a driving force for social and cultural transformation. This study is motivated by global changes, moral crises, and modernization challenges that require Islamic education to adopt a relevant and contextual approach. The purpose of this research is to examine how the concepts of tarbiyah, ta’lim, and ta’dib can be integrated to form an Islamic educational model oriented toward socio-cultural transformation. The study employs a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach based on the PRISMA framework, reviewing 158 scholarly articles and selecting 9 that meet the inclusion criteria. The findings reveal that the integration of these three concepts establishes a holistic Islamic education model that balances spiritual, intellectual, and social dimensions. Islamic education functions as a moral and cultural agent of change capable of responding to globalization and secularization. This research contributes conceptually to developing a modern Islamic education curriculum grounded in the values of tawhid, morality, and social ethics.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the ontology of truth in Islamic education through an integrative perspective between reason, revelation, and technology. This research employs a qualitative method with a library research approach, examining both classical and contemporary sources relevant to Islamic epistemology and the philosophy of education. The findings reveal that in Islamic education, truth does not solely originate from human reason, which is empirical, but also from divine revelation as an absolute and transcendental foundation. The integration of reason and revelation provides an epistemological basis capable of creating a balanced educational system between intellect and faith. In the digital era, technology serves as an instrument to expand the reach of knowledge and enhance the effectiveness of learning, yet its use must remain guided by the principles of tawhid and Islamic ethics. This study emphasizes the importance of a scientific paradigm that harmonizes rational, spiritual, and technological dimensions to construct Islamic education that is humanistic, adaptive, and oriented toward holistic truth.

Abstract

Conventional learning methods often lead to low cognitive achievement in Islamic Education and Character (PAI-BP) among primary students, particularly through passive, teacher-centred approaches. To address this, the study investigates the comparative effectiveness of two cooperative learning models—Teams Games Tournament (TGT) and Make a Match in enhancing PAI-BP learning outcomes among Grade V students at SDN 19 Limboro. Using a True Experimental Design with a posttest-only control group, the research involved all 36 Grade V students, who were divided into two equivalent experimental groups via census sampling. Data were collected via a validated and reliable multiple-choice posttest. Prerequisite tests confirmed data normality and homogeneity, enabling the use of the Paired Sample t-test and the Independent Sample t-test for analysis. Results showed both models significantly improved learning outcomes (p < 0.001). However, TGT outperformed Make a Match, with mean posttest scores of 84.44 versus 80.00 (t = 2.224, p = 0.033). This confirms TGT’s superior effectiveness, likely due to its structured team competition and repeated review mechanism, which better support cognitive retention and motivation in PAI-BP. The study theoretically enriches Cooperative Learning Theory in non-exact, value-based subjects and offers practical, evidence-based guidance for educators to adopt TGT in religious education contexts.
