Abstract

This writing aims to find out whether there is a correlation between perceived supervisor support and job insecurity on change engagement and self-efficacy as a mediator variable for Indonesian BUMN employees. This research involved 351 employees of state-owned companies who were determined using accidental sampling techniques. The research instrument used four scales, namely the Change Engagement Scale, the short version of the Scale of Perceived Supervisor Support (SPSS), the short version of the Job Insecurity Scale (JIS), and the Occupational Self Efficacy Short Version Scale. Data analysis in this writing uses path analysis using Jamovi. Based on the results of data analysis, there is a direct and indirect influence between perceived supervisor support on change engagement through self-efficacy, but there is no significant direct or indirect influence of job insecurity on change engagement through self-efficacy. The results of this research can be a reference for companies, especially BUMN regarding the importance of change engagement and other factors in intervening in organizations and employees.

Abstract

Previous research emphasizes the importance of Organizational Citizenship Behavior (OCB) in public institutions, including the police. However, there is limited literature that examines how OCB subtypes are formed. Considering the centrality of the leader figure in the police, this research investigates the role of transformational leadership in the formation of OCB through attitudinal mechanisms, namely job satisfaction. The quantitative research involved 251 participants, chosen via cluster sampling from a single Resort/Departmental Police Force in Indonesia. This participant willingly completed three main scales: the OCB scale, the job satisfaction scale, and the transformational leadership scale. Data processing used mediation analysis with JASP software JASP 0.17.3 (Intel). The results align with previous findings, which stated a significant positive relationship between transformational leadership and OCB, which was mediated by job satisfaction. Furthermore, this research shows that only the OCB-Individual (OCBI) subtype (courtesy and altruism) is related to transformational leadership through the mediation of job satisfaction. Discussions and implications are outlined in detail, both for police institutions and future researchers

Abstract

The current research aims to determine the effect of (1) the solve its strategy on the ability to solve math story problems moderated by working memory; (2) the solve its strategy on the ability to solve math story problems moderated by inhibitory control; (3) the solve its strategy on the ability to solve math story problems moderated by shifting. This experimental research used an untreated control group design model with a dependent pretest and posttest. Participants in the research were students being 4th-grade elementary school students in the city of Yogyakarta. The ability to solve story problems was measured using the test of mathematical ability (TOMA), the backward digit span task to measure working memory capacity, and the matching familiar figure test to measure inhibitory control and shifting capacity using the Wisconsin card sorting test. Data analysis uses partial least squares (PLS). The research results showed that only the moderating effect of inhibitory control was proven to support the influence of the solve-it strategy on the ability to solve math story problems. Implications for further research are discussed.

Abstract

This study aims to examine self-compassion and gratitude with psychological well-being moderated by leadership style in lecturers at South Sumatra State Universities. The participants of this study were 452 lecturers, and the participants were taken using purposive sampling techniques. This research instrument uses the psychological well-being scale (Cronbach's alpha a = 0.852), the Multifactor Leadership Style MLQ-5X Scale (Cronbach's alpha a= 0.85.), and the Self-compassion Scale (Cronbach's alpha a = 0.817). The data were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). The results of the model test analysis using path analysis found that the role model of leadership style as a moderator variable of the influence of self-compassion and gratitude on psychological well-being in PTN lecturers is fit and significant. Furthermore, the results of moderated regression analysis found that leadership style provides a moderator role in self-compassion and gratitude on psychological well-being. This study highlights the moderating effect of leadership style on work climate, self-compassion, and gratitude on psychological well-being, which shows that the high or low influence of work climate, self-compassion, and gratitude on psychological well-being depends on the high or low moderation of leadership style.

Abstract

Type 2 diabetes mellitus is a chronic disease with a high global prevalence, so efforts to reduce the prevalence of this disease are needed. This study aims to evaluate the role of psychological distress as a moderator in the relationship between perceived seriousness and adherence to diabetes management. A total of 107 type 2 diabetes patients aged 26-82 years participated in this study, with a percentage of women of 74.8%. This study is a cross-sectional study with a correlational research type that will measure the relationship between three variables, namely psychological distress, perceived threat, and adherence to diabetes management. The measuring instruments used are Perceived Seriousness, General Health Questionnaire-12, and Diabetes Activity Questionnaire. Data were processed using regression techniques with PROCESS v4.0 to see the moderation relationship between variables. The results of the moderation analysis showed that psychological stress significantly moderated the relationship between perceived seriousness and adherence. This study found that higher psychological distress was associated with a weaker relationship between perceived seriousness and compliance, whereas higher psychological distress strengthened the impact of perceived seriousness on compliance.

Abstract

The overuse of the internet is known as internet addiction. People who are addicted to the internet frequently require assistance in controlling their usage, which causes them to lose track of time and prefer the virtual world to the actual one. The purpose of this study is to look at how self-control affects college students' internet addiction. 352 students, aged between 18 and 24 (M = 20.46, SD = 1.31), living in Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang, and Bekasi, made up the sample. There were 69 male students and 283 female students. Purposive sampling, a non-probability technique, was employed. Confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) is used in the construct validity assessment process. The structural equation modeling method is employed to test hypotheses. The results showed that data with an RMSEA value of 0.074 supported the fit model. In addition, there is a significant influence of self-control on internet addiction in students with an opposing direction of influence. The R-square of 40.2% obtains the amount of influence.

Abstract

Emotional intelligence is one of the predictors of adolescent success in the future, so the antecedents of emotional intelligence are very important to know. This study aims to examine the formation of adolescent emotional intelligence in terms of the influence of external factors, namely maternal authoritative parenting patterns, and internal factors, namely self-concept and emotional regulation. The research design used a quantitative approach on high school students (n = 377) of adolescent age who were selected by cluster random sampling. Adolescent emotional intelligence was measured using the TEI-Que Scale (α = 9.869), maternal authoritative parenting patterns were measured using the PSDQ Scale (α = 0.720), self-concept was measured using the PSC Scale (α = 0.928), and emotional regulation was calculated using the ERQ-Ca Scale (α = 0.892). The Structural Equation Model (SEM), which was processed through the AMOS version 26 program, was used to analyze the data. The research findings show that the mother's authoritative parenting pattern and self-concept mediated by emotional regulation have a positive and significant influence on the formation of adolescent emotional intelligence. The implications of this research are to provide support for Bandura's Social Cognitive Theory, which can be used as a reference in forming adolescent emotional intelligence.

Abstract

Academic stress not only occurs in students at school but also occurs in many college students. Several studies have shown that irrational thoughts about self-confidence and low resilience are related to high academic stress. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of resilience training to reduce academic stress in students. This study is an experimental study with a Randomized Pre-Test, Post-Test, and Follow-Up (RPPF) design. Researchers randomly divided participants into experimental and control groups. The experimental group received eight sessions of resilience training intervention for three weeks, with two to three sessions per week, each lasting 90 minutes. Both groups underwent measurements before the intervention (pre-test), after the intervention (post-test), and two weeks after the intervention (follow-up). This research instrument used an academic stress scale (α =0.842). Data analysis using Multivariate Analysis of Covariance showed that resilience training had significant effectiveness in reducing academic stress in students. The implications of further research are discussed.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine whether or not there is a direct and indirect influence between social-emotional skills, authoritative parenting, and social self-efficacy on the prosocial behavior of high school students in the Sidoarjo Regency. This type of research uses an ex post facto quantitative research model using a survey in Sidoarjo Regency. The sampling technique used a multistage with a total of 375 respondents. The data collection method used a modification of the Adolescent social self-efficacy scale (α = 0.760), Parenting style scale (α = 0.720), Social-emotional learning competencies scale (α = 0.793), and Prosocial Tendencies Measurements (α = 0.734). The data were analyzed using a path analysis model using IBM SPSS 25 and the Sobel online calculator to validate the significance of the indirect effect. The results of this study found that both social-emotional skills, authoritative parenting, and social self-efficacy have a positive and partially significant direct influence on prosocial behavior. Furthermore, social-emotional skills and authoritative parenting are known to have an indirect influence through social self-efficacy as a mediator on the prosocial behavior of adolescent students. There is a positive and significant direct influence between authoritative parenting and social-emotional skills on prosocial behavior, and there is a significant indirect influence through social self-efficacy as a mediator variable of authoritative parenting and social-emotional skills on adolescent prosocial behavior.
