Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of wudu therapy on happiness, sleep quality, and work productivity in college lecturers. This type of research uses mixed methods with Embedded Design. Respondents of the study were active lecturers at four universities in South Sumatra, as determined by the Multistage Sampling Technique, which obtained N = 58 and was divided into 29 experimental groups and 29 control groups. The measurement of the study used the Sleep Quality Scale (reliability 0.81), the Muslim Spiritual Happiness Scale (internal consistency 8-9), and the Lecturer Work Productivity Scale (reliability 0.882). Data analysis techniques used path analysis techniques, Independent T-test analysis, and descriptive analysis with the help of IBM SPSS version 25. The main findings of this study found that wudu therapy indirectly affected happiness and work productivity through sleep quality as a mediator. Recommendations from this study provide new insights for implementing wudu therapy in Higher Education to improve the quality of Lecturers and further research development.

Abstract

Tourists are drawn to return to Mount Bromo by their memories and experiences while visiting. Because of its many unique qualities, Bromo is fascinating to explore in relation to revisiting intention through the lens of destination image, destination Personality, and place attachment. Through destination Personality, destination image, and place connection, the study aims to explore the determinants influencing revisit intention. Purposive sampling was utilized to successfully gather 553 respondents, subject to the condition that domestic tourists are at least eighteen years old and have visited Bromo at least three times. Path analysis was used in the research analysis, and the (α=0,938), destination image (α=0,89), Place Attachment Index (α=0,928), and revisit intention scale (α=0,97) were used for measurement. The study's findings point to a relationship between place attachment, destination Personality, and destination image that directly and indirectly influences domestic travellers' revisit intention to Mount Bromo. The growth and administration of Mount Bromo can benefit from the study's contribution. The manager's job is crucial if you want visitors who have already been to express interest in returning.

Abstract

The phenomenon of employees who tend to change jobs is increasingly widespread, especially among Generation Z, who tend to leave their jobs in less than 6 months, which makes it challenging for organizations to retain their employees. This study aims to examine the relationship between proactive personality and job-hopping intention, as well as the mediating role of job satisfaction in this relationship. The instruments used in this study were the Job-Hopping Intention Scale (α=0,880), the Proactive Personality Scale (α=0,839), and the Job Satisfaction Survey (α=0,920). The research method used is quantitative, involving 114 respondents who are Generation Z employees in Jabodetabek and have less than 2 years of service.  Data were analyzed using the PROCESS Macro for SPSS (Model 4) developed by Hayes. The results showed that job satisfaction has a significant effect in mediating the relationship between proactive personality and job-hopping intention. Thus, job satisfaction is an important aspect in reducing employees’ job-hopping intention. Companies are expected to develop programs to increase employee job satisfaction, such as career coaching, reward systems, supportive work environments, and greater job autonomy.

Abstract

Phubbing, or the phenomenon of cell phone use by college students when interacting with others, is a phenomenon that requires careful attention. This neglect of others and a greater focus on cell phone use makes phubbing a cause for concern, as it impacts students' academic and social relationships. Factors influencing phubbing are conscientiousness and life satisfaction. This study aimed to explore whether life satisfaction moderates the effect of conscientiousness on phubbing in college students. This study involved 306 college students recruited through convenience sampling. The measurement instruments used were the Satisfaction with Scale (α=0,868), the Phubbing Scale (α=0,990), and conscientiousness (α=0,614). Moderation analysis was used for data analysis. The results revealed that life satisfaction did not significantly moderate the effect of conscientiousness on phubbing in college students. Conscientiousness remained influential on phubbing, regardless of the students' level of life satisfaction. This condition is suspected to be related to cognitive flexibility and failure experiences, which could be confounding variables in the interaction between conscientiousness and life satisfaction. Future research should consider cognitive flexibility and failure experiences as mediating variables. Keywords: cognitive flexibility; life satisfaction; phubbing; trait conscientiousness.

Abstract

The high level of job satisfaction in Indonesia does not necessarily indicate the same perception of work across all age groups, especially among pre-elderly workers (aged 45–59 years). This research aims to investigate the relationship between presenteeism and job satisfaction among pre-elderly workers, while also testing the mediating roles of resilience and work- health balance. This research uses a quantitative correlational approach and Partial Least Squares–Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) analysis technique on data from 146 pre- elderly workers who have experienced presenteeism due to minor illnesses. The findings show that neither dimensions of presenteeism are not directly related to job satisfaction. Although the completing work is positively associated to resilience, resilience was not found to mediate the relationship between presenteeism and job satisfaction. On the other hand, both presenteeism dimensions were related with work-health balance. Work-health balance was found to be a significant mediator only in the relationship between completing work and job satisfaction. These findings highlight the importance role of work-health balance in supporting job satisfaction among pre-elderly workers who practice presenteeism.

Abstract

During the transition to adulthood, students are increasingly require are  required to demonstrate active engagement in planning and managing their career development. This engagement is shaped by contextual factors, including the degree of alignment between students’ and parents’ career goals and the support received from parents. However, empirical research on career engagement among Indonesian university students, particularly studies examining its connection with parental factors, remains limit. This study aims to investigate the association between parent-child career goal congruence, parental support, and career engagement. A total of 224 active students participated in this study. Data were collected using three instruments: the Career Engagement Scale (α=..), the Parent-Child Career Goal Congruence Scale, and the Parental Support Scale. Multiple linear regression analysis revealed a significant association between parent-child career goal congruence, support, and career engagement. These findings highlight the potential for parents and career counselors to enhance students' career engagement by fostering alignment between parental and student career goals, and by providing consistent parental support.

Abstract

The retail industry currently faces dynamic challenges, including market pressure, regulatory changes, and technological advancements, all of which require organizations to maintain a high level of readiness for change. This study aims to analyze the influence of organizational justice on organizational readiness to change, with psychological empowerment as a mediating variable, in a retail company in Indonesia. A quantitative approach with a cross-sectional design was employed, involving 120 respondents from lower management levels. Data were collected using validated scales and analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) based on Partial Least Squares (PLS). The results indicate that organizational justice has a direct, positive, and significant effect on organizational readiness to change. Furthermore, psychological empowerment was found to serve as a significant mediator in the form of complementary mediation. This means that psychological empowerment complements but does not eliminate the direct effect of organizational justice. These findings highlight that the implementation of fairness principles and the strengthening of psychological empowerment are key to effectively and sustainably enhancing organizational readiness for change.

Abstract

Empathy is an important asset in building conducive social relationships and forming a caring and responsible personality in the future. The formation of empathy can be influenced by internal and external factors. This study aims to examine the influence of school climate, self-concept and socio-emotional competence on the formation of empathy in adolescents. The research design used a quantitative approach with participants of adolescent high school students (n = 377) selected by cluster random sampling. Empathy was measured using the Interpersonal Reactivity Indeks-IRI  Scale(α=0,978), school climate was measured with The School Climate Measure Scale-SCM (α=0,936), self-concept was measured with the Personal Self Concept PSC Scale-PSC (α=0,798), and socio-emotional competence was measured using The Delaware Social-Emotional Competence Scale DSEC (α=0,880). The analysis technique used is the Structural Equation Model (SEM) which is processed using AMOS software. The results showed that the proposed research model can be supported by empirical data. This means that a positive school climate and a healthy self-concept together create an environment that supports the development of empathy in adolescents.
