Abstract

ABSTRAK. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengamati pengaruh pemberian larutan fenol organik pada pakan puyuh terhadap hasil biokonversi ekskreta puyuh terhadap maggot. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan selama 12 minggu pada bulan Juli sampai Oktober 2023 di Laboratorium Ternak Unggas kampus Sekolah Vokasi IPB. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) non faktorial, dengan perlakuan media ekskreta tanpa fermentasi (P1) dan media ekskreta fermentasi (P2). Setiap perlakuan diulang sebanyak tiga kali, data yang diperoleh dibahas secara deskriptif. Prosedur yang dilakukan yaitu: pemeliharaan puyuh, pemberian larutan fenol organik, persiapan instalasi biokonversi, koleksi ekskreta puyuh, pengukuran suhu dan pH, pemanenan, produksi maggot segar dan kering, prduksi kasgot, dan pengamatan karakteristik kasgot. Hasil biokonversi menunjukkan bahwa produksi maggot BSF segar pada P1 adalah 15.67 ± 2.08 dan P2 adalah 14.00 ± 1.73. Produksi maggot BSF kering pada P1 adalah 3.30 ± 0.33 dan P2 adalah 2.89 ± 0.32. Pemberian fenol organik dalam budidaya puyuh menghasilkan produksi biomassa maggot BSF pada P1 yaitu 15.67 ± 2.08 lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan biomassa maggot BSF P2 14.00 ± 1.73. Secara umum, pemberian fenol organik pada pakan dalam budidaya puyuh menghasilkan biokonversi ekskreta sebagai media untuk pertumbuhan maggot BSF yang dapat menjadi nilai tambah bagi peternakan.Kata kunci: ekskreta puyuh, biokonversi, blsck soldier fly, larutan fenol organikBioconversion of Layer Period Quality Manufacturing Waste with The Addition of Organic Phenol Solution Using Maggot BSF (Black Soldier Fly)ABSTRACT. This research was done to observe the effect of giving an organic phenol solution in quail feed on the bioconversion results of quail excreta to maggots. This research was conducted for 12 weeks from July to October 2023 at the Poultry Farming Laboratory on the IPB Vocational School campus. This research used a non-factorial Randomized Block Design (RAK), with non-fermented excreta media (P1) and fermented excreta media (P2). Each treatment was repeated three times, and the data obtained was discussed descriptively. The procedures carried out are: raising quail, administering organic phenol solutions, preparing bioconversion installations, collecting quail excreta, measuring temperature and pH, harvesting, producing fresh and dried maggots, producing cassava, and observing the characteristics of cassgot. Bioconversion results showed that fresh BSF maggot production at P1 was 15.67 ± 2.08 and P2 was 14.00 ± 1.73. Dry BSF maggot production at P1 was 3.30 ± 0.33 and P2 was 2.89 ± 0.32. The provision of organic phenol in quail cultivation resulted in BSF maggot biomass production at P1, namely 15.67 ± 2.08 higher compared to BSF maggot biomass P2 14.00 ± 1.73. In general, applying organic phenol to feed in quail cultivation results in the bioconversion of excreta as a medium for the growth of BSF larvae which can be an added value for livestock.

Abstract

ABSTRACT.  This study aims to identify the potential of Polewali Mandar Regency as a ruminant development area based on the analysis of regional potential and forage availability. Identify the condition of the Polewali Mandar Regency area regarding the availability of forage and analyze the feasibility of the area for the development of ruminant farming. The method used to carry out the analysis was the analysis of livestock density and LQ, and the analysis of the carrying capacity of forage and agricultural waste to develop ruminants in the Polewali Mandar Regency. The data used in the analysis is secondary data from the Agriculture and Livestock Service Office of Polewali Mandar Regency and the Central Bureau of Statistics of Polewali Mandar Regency. The data analysis method used is descriptive-analytical. Recommendations for livestock types to be developed based on the LQ analysis results are cattle-based in Tubbi Taramanu, Wonomulyo, Mapilli, Bulo and Matangnga sub-districts, buffalo-based in Tinambung and Campalagian sub-districts, and goat base in Balanipa, Limboro, Alu, Campalagian, Luyo, Tapango, Matakali, Polewali, Binuang, and Anreapi sub-districts. CCI analysis shows that only the Tapango, Wonomulyo, and Binuang sub-districts are in a safe status. The RDP analysis shows that most sub-districts in Polewali Mandar can increase their livestock population, with the Tapango sub-district having the highest population increase capacity. The recommendation results are a preliminary analysis of ruminant development, so further studies are needed.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the characteristics of consumers in purchasing formula milk products aged 1-3 years and to analyze the brand equity of formula milk aged 1-3 years at Integrated Healthcare Center Mawar IX, RW 9, Cipamokolan Village, Rancasari District, Bandung City. The method used mixed research methods and sample taking used a purposive sampling technique. Based on observations, there were 51 people who suit the criteria. Data were analyzed using descriptive analysis, Cochran test, brand switching pattern matrix, and estimation of market share. Based on research, the characteristics of its consumers are dominated by housewives aged 19-34 years with undergraduate/postgraduate graduates who have children aged 12-23 months with an income of IDR 500,000-5,000,000 and expenditures of IDR 100,000-3,000,000 per month regarding knowledge of child nutrition and obtaining information regarding formula milk from advertisements so that they buy formula milk with a frequency of 1-2 times/month and a small product volume. The results show that Dancow Batita and SGM have a fairly strong brand equity value where these two brands have a brand image with 11 brand associations and a good quality perception. SGM outperformed brand awareness and estimated market share, while Dancow Batita led in brand loyalty. While both brands are equally superior for brand association and perceived quality.

Abstract

The aim of the research was to determine the influence of Miana leaf (ML)-based eco-enzyme onthe  performance and liver percentage inbroilers. This research used a completely randomized design. 200-day-old broilers (DOC) were randomly divided into 4 treatments and 5 replications, with each replicate consisting of 10 chickens. The four treatments were: A (0% eco-enzyme based on ML), B (2% eco-enzyme based on ML), C (4% eco-enzyme based on ML), D (6% eco-enzyme based on ML) which is supplemented by drinking water. The parameters measured were feed consumption, average daily gain (ADG), feedconversion ratio (FCR) and liverpercentage. The results obtained showed that supplemented ML significantly (P<0,05) affected  ADG. The supplementation of ML based eco enzyme did not have a significant effect  (P>0,05) on feed consumption,  feed conversion ratio and liver percentage.  The supplementation of ML based eco enzyme could be tolerated up to 6% in drinking water of broilers.

Abstract

ABSTRAK. Kefir adalah produk fermentasi susu yang sangat bermanfaat. Kefir dapat terbuat dari berbagai olahan jenis susu, seperti susu segar, susu Ultra High Temperature (UHT), dan susu skim bubuk. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menganalisis pengaruh berbagai olahan jenis susu terhadap kadar laktosa, total solid (TS) dan Solid non Fat (SNF) kefir. Penelitian telah dilaksanakan pada bulan Januari-Maret 2023. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah eksperimen dengan rancangan acak lengkap, 3 perlakuan, 4 ulangan. Perlakuannya adalah jenis susu dalam pembuatan kefir, P0: susu segar, P1: susu UHT, P2: susu skim bubuk. Variabel yang diamati adalah kadar laktosa, TS dan SNF kefir. Data dianalisis dengan analisis ragam dan dilanjut dengan uji beda nyata terkecil (BNT) apabila ada pengaruh. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa olahan jenis susu berbeda berpengaruh sangat nyata (P<0,01) terhadap kadar laktosa, TS dan SNF kefir. Rataan kadar laktosa kefir yang didapatkan 2,02-3,36%. Rataan nilai TS 3,53-6,6,4%. Rataan SNF 5,83-10,79%. Simpulannya adalah olahan jenis susu terbaik dalam pembuatan kefir susu sapi adalah susu skim bubuk. Susu skim bubuk mampu menghasilkan kualitas kefir optimal dengan kadar laktosa 3,36%, TS 10,79% dan SNF 6,64%.Kata kunci: Jenis susu, kefir, laktosa, total solid, solid non fat.Lactose, Total Solid, and Solid Non Fat Content of Cow Milk Kefir Processed From Different Milk TypesABSTRACT. Kefir is a highly beneficial fermented milk product. Kefir can be made from various types of milk, such as fresh milk, Ultra High Temperature (UHT), powdered skim milk. The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of various types of milk on lactose content, total solid (TS) and Solid non Fat kefir. The research was conducted in January-March 2023. The materials used were fresh milk, UHT milk, skim milk powder, kefir grain, stainless steel pot, thermometer, spatula, lactoscan, scale, measuring cup. The research method in this study is an experiment with a complete randomized design, 3 treatments, 4 replicates. The treatment is the type of milk in making kefir, P0: fresh milk, P1: UHT milk, P2: powdered skim milk. Variables observed were lactose content, TS and SNF of kefir. Data were analyzed by analysis of variance and continued with the least significant difference test (BNT) if there was an effect. The results showed that different types of milk processing had a very significant effect (P<0.01) on lactose, TS and SNF content of kefir. The average lactose content of kefir obtained was 2.02-3.36%. The average TS value was 3.53-6.64%. The average SNF was 5.83-10.79%. The conclusion is that the best type of milk in making cow’s milk kefir is skim milk powder. Skim milk powder is able to produce optimal kefir quality with lactose content of 3.36%, TS 10.79% and SNF 6.64%.

Abstract

ABSTRAK. Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi usaha ternak ayam broiler sistem kemitraan inti plasma berbasis Index Performance (IP). Penelitian dilakukan dengan pendekatan desk research dan deskriptif analitis. Data primer didapat dari wawancara mendalam (in depth interview) kepada peternak selaku pihak plasma dan perusahaan peternakan selaku pihak inti atau pemilik modal. Wawancara dilakukan secara bersama dengan kedua belah pihak, pihak inti dan pihak plasma dengan tujuan untuk menguak data, fakta, dan realita sistem kemitraan inti plasma ayam broiler. Data sekunder diperoleh dari data kontrak kemitraan, hasil pencatatan pemeliharaan ayam broiler (recording) selama masa produksi, dan Rekapitulasi Hasil Pemeliharaan Peternak (RHPP) pada populasi 2.000 ekor. Hasil penelitian didapatkan bahwa usaha ternak ayam broiler dengan sistem inti plasma menghabiskan biaya sapronak sebesar 67.733.672,00 dengan ketentuan biaya DOC sebesar 20,66%, biaya pakan sebesar 77,64%, dan biaya OVK sebesar 2,93%. Penjualan ayam yang didapat mencapai 75.268.878,50 dengan umur panen 35,00 hari dengan berat rata-rata 2,12 kg. Jumlah ayam yang dipanen sebanyak 1.927 ekor, artinya level deplesi hanya 3,65%. Nilai FCR 1,615 dengan nilai IP sebesar 361,43. Kesimpulan yang didapat yaitu secara keseluruhan pemeliharaan ayam broiler yang dilakukan oleh peternak plasma berada dalam kategori sangat baik. Pendapatan peternak plasma sebesar 11.665.363,00 (setelah ditambah bonus harga pasar, bonus FCR, dan bonus deplesi).Kata kunci: ayam pedaging, indeks performa, peternakan, sistem kemitraan, inti plasma.Evaluation of Broiler Chicken Livestock with the Core Plasma Partnership System       Based on Index Performance (IP)ABSTRACT. The aim of this study was to evaluate broiler farming in a plasma core partnership system based on Index Performance (IP). The research was conducted using a desk research and analytical descriptive approach. Primary data was obtained from in-depth interviews with farmers as plasma parties and livestock companies as main parties or owners of capital. Interviews were conducted jointly with both parties, the core party and the plasma party with the aim of uncovering data, facts, and the reality of the broiler plasma core partnership system. Secondary data was obtained from partnership contract data, the results of recording broiler chicken maintenance (recording) during the production period, and Breeder Maintenance Results Recapitulation (RHPP) in a population of 2,000 birds. The results showed that the broiler farming business with the plasma core system with input cost 67,733,672.00 with the provisions that the DOC cost was 20.66%, the feed cost was 77.64%, and the OVK cost was 2.93%. Sales of chickens reached 75,268,878.50 with a harvest age of 35.00 days with an average weight of 2.12 kg. The number of chickens harvested was 1,927, meaning the depletion level was only 3.65%. FCR value of 1.615 with an IP value of 361.43. The conclusion obtained is that overall the maintenance of broiler chickens carried out by plasma farmers is in the very good category. Plasma farmer income of 11,665,363.00 (after adding market price bonuses, FCR bonuses and depletion bonuses).

Abstract

Indonesia has very hot temperatures and high humidity, making it unfavorable for sheep whose covered with thick fur. Shearing enlarges and accelerates heat dissipation from the sheep's body, giving antioxidants that help reduce the negative effects of excessive free radical production.  Ascorbic acid is an antioxidant but is easily decomposed when it enters the digestive system of ruminants. Ascorbyl palmitate (AP) is ascorbic acid in the form of an ester which is insoluble in water. The aim of this study was to analyze the effect of shearing and administration of AP antioxidants on oxidative stress conditions in Padjadjaran sheep subjected to heat shock.   The shaving treatment consisted of not shaving (s0) and shearing (s1),and the treatment of giving the antioxidant ascorbyl palmitate consisted of not being given (a0) and being given (a1).  Sheep were subjected to shearing, their hair was trimmed until ± 10 mm in length was left, and sheep as object of study were treated with ascorbyl palmitate at a dose of 400 mg head-1 day-1. The combination treatment was not shaved – not given the antioxidant ascorbyl palmitate (s0a0), only shaved (s1a0), only given the antioxidant ascorbyl palmitate (s0a1), and sheared – given the antioxidant ascorbyl palmitate (s1a1).  Heat shock is given by exposing the sheep to the sun. The oxidative stress observed and analyzed was the profile of endogenous antioxidants consisting of superoxide dismutase (SOD), catalase (CAT), glutathione peroxidase (GSH-Px) and malondialdehyde (MDA). The results showed that the combination of shearing and Ascorbyl Palmitate had a significant effect (p<0.05) on the levels of SOD, CAT and GSH-Px in Padjadjaran sheep receiving heat stress.  The conclusion from this study, the shearing treatment and the administration of Ascorbyl palmitate, both independently and in combination, had a beneficial effect on Padjadjaran sheep.

Abstract

ABSTRAK. Penelitian bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh sifat inovasi (meliputi relative advantage, compatibility, complexity, trialability, observability) terhadap tingkat adopsi inovasi peternak plasma broiler dalam penerapan sapta usaha peternakan yang tergabung dalam PT. Pitik Digital Indonesia pada Program Bertani Untuk Negeri (BUN) Batch 5. Penelitian dilakukan dengan metode survei. Data primer diperoleh melalui observasi lapang, wawancara menggunakan kuesioner terstruktur dengan skala likert skor 1-5, serta dokumentasi. Penelitian dilakukkan pada bulan November – Desember 2022 kepada peternak dampingan FDA yang berada di Provinsi banten, Jawa Barat, dan Jawa Tengah. Teknik pengambilan sampel dilakukan secara sengaja (purposive sampling) kepada 30 peternak responden, dengan kriteria merupakan peternak broiler binaan PT. Pitik Digital Indonesia Program BUN Batch 5. Data dianalisis menggunakan analisis regresi berganda dan analisis descriptive. Untuk melihat kelayakan instrumen penelitian dan kualitas data yang dikumpulkan, dilakukan uji validitas dan reliabilitas. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tingkat adopsi inovasi berdasarkan sifat inovasi pada penerapan sapta usaha peternakan di BUN 5 dari keseluruhan skor memiliki nilai rataan skor sebesar 4,02 (kategori setuju) dimana masing-masing nilai variabel sifat inovasi sebagai berikut: keunggulan relative (4,01), kompatibilitas (4,04), kompleksitas (3,61), trialability (4,13), dan observability (4,19). Berdasarkan tingkat golongan adopter merupakan kelompok mayoritas awal (early adopter). Sedangkan hasil perhitungan analisis regresi berganda menunjukkan bahwa semua variabel sifat inovasi berpengaruh tidak signifikan terhadap adopsi inovasi penerapan sapta usaha ternak.Kata kunci: Adopsi inovasi, Farmers Development Associate (FDA), implementasi sapta usaha ternakAdoption of Innovation of Broiler Plasm Farmers at PT Pitik Digital Indonesia Under Bertani untuk Negeri Program Towards The Implementation of Seven Livestock BusinessABSTRACT. This research was conducted to determine the level of adoption of innovations in the application of seven livestock business as well as to analyze the influence of adoption innovation of five innovation characteristics including relative advantage, compatibility, complexity, trialability, observability towards the application of seven livestock business,in three provinces of Banten, West Java and Central Java. The research method use survey, while data collection was carried out by using direct observation, interview with a structured questionnaire, and documentation. Likert scale score 1-5 used to measure the farmers response of five characteristic of seven livestock business. The sampling technique was carried out by purposive sampling, with the criterion were broiler farmers assisted of PT. Pitik Digital Indonesia Bertani Untuk Negeri (BUN) Batch 5 as much as 30 respondents. Data were analysed by using multiple regression analysis and descriptive analysis. The results showed that the level of adoption of innovation based on characteristic innovation on the implementation of seven livestock business broiler farmers have an average score 4.02 (agree category) or moderate category, where each variable value was as follows: relative advantage (4.01), compatibility (4.04), complexity (3.61), trialability (4.13), and observability (4.19). Based on the adopter group classification, it include in the early majority group. Meanwhile, based on multiple regression analysis, it can be seen that five characteristics of innovation have no significant effect on broiler farmers of adoption innovation towards application of seven livestock busines.

Abstract

ABSTRAK. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kontribusi pendapatan usaha ternak sapi potong pada rumah tangga petani. Pengambilan sampel pada penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan teknik purposive sampling, dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 25 orang. Hasil penelitian diuraikan dengan menggunakan analisis pendapatan dan analisis kontribusi. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa rata-rata pendapatan usaha ternak sapi potong sebesar Rp. 32.886.143, pendapatan usaha tani selain berternak sebesar Rp. 34.512.560, dan pendapatan usaha non pertanian sebesar Rp. 23.584.000. Kontribusi pendapatan ternak sapi potong terhadap pendapatan rumah tangga petani sebesar 36% dan termasuk kategori rendah karena kontribusinya dibawah 50%.Kata Kunci: Sapi potong, Kontribusi, PendapatanBeef Cattle Farming Business Income and Its Contribution to Farmer Households in Tanete Village, Anggeraja District, Enrekang RegencyABSTRACT. This study aims to determine the contribution of beef cattle business income to farmer households. Sampling in this study was conducted using purposive sampling technique, with a total sample of 25 people. The results of the study were described using income analysis and contribution analysis. The results showed that the average income of beef cattle farming amounted to Rp.32,886,143, farm income other than farming amounted to Rp. 34,512,560, and non-farm business income amounted to Rp. 23,584,000. The contribution of cattle income to farmers' household income is reduced by 36% and is included in the low category because its contribution is below 50%.

Abstract

This study analyzes efficiency and break even point to provide an overview of sheep farming in Sukawangi Village, Pamulihan Subdistrict, Sumedang Regency in July 2023. The aims of this study is to count total production cost, find out farmer’s income, and analyze the eficiency and break even point of sheep farming. The method used was a survey by interviewing 88 farmers using simple random sampling. Based on the results of the study, it showed that the total production costs for sheep farming in Sukawangi Village are IDR 27,432,069/unit enterprises/year, and the income is IDR 3,055,431/unit enterprises/year. The efficiency value of the sheep farming business in Sukawangi Village is 1.11 which means that the business is efficient and profitable. The production break event point value is 3 heads adult sheep equivalent, smaller than actual sales which is 6 heads  adult sheep equivalent, while the price break event value is IDR 4,238,845/unit enterprises/year, smaller than the actual sales price, which is IDR 4,710,975/unit enterprises/year.
