Abstract

Semarangan style dance as an identity of Semarang City is essential to be introduced in order to preserve local culture through innovative teaching materials. This study aims to explore the characteristics of Semarangan style dance, identify strategies for enhancing students’ critical thinking skills related to local culture through digital encyclopedias, and examine the improvement of students’ critical thinking abilities. The research employs a qualitative descriptive phenomenological approach involving 30 elementary school students and teachers in Semarang City. Data were collected through observation, interviews, focus group discussions, and document analysis, and analyzed using interactive analysis techniques. The findings indicate that Semarangan style dance embodies geographical conditions, socio-cultural values, and the multi-ethnic character of Semarang society. Strategies to enhance critical thinking are implemented through stages of dance appreciation, practice, analysis, and evaluation. In conclusion, the use of digital encyclopedias is effective in improving students’ critical thinking skills in cognitive, kinesthetic, and character dimensions. The implications of this study suggest that Semarangan style dance-based digital learning media can serve as an effective model for integrating local cultural content into elementary education, supporting culturally responsive pedagogy and character education. Furthermore, this research provides a pedagogical framework for educators to utilize digital encyclopedias as innovative tools to foster critical thinking while strengthening students’ cultural identity. At a broader level, the findings contribute to efforts in local cultural conservation by positioning traditional dance as a dynamic learning resource within contemporary digital education contexts.

Abstract

Limited use of interactive learning media in elementary schools had contributed to low student engagement and unsatisfactory music learning outcomes, particularly in learning about musical instruments diversity. Therefore, technology-based learning media appropriate to students’ characteristics were required. This study aims to develop and evaluate the feasibility and effectiveness of a musical instruments diversity application to improve students of Grade IV music learning outcomes. This research employed a Research and Development (R&D) method adapted from the Borg and Gall model. The research subjects were Grade IV students at Protomulyo 1 Elementary School, Kendal Regency. Data were collected through interviews, observations, documentation, questionnaires, and tests, then analyzed using descriptive analysis, normality testing, N-gain score, and paired sample t-test. The results showed that the application was very feasible, with media expert validation of 96.8% and material expert validation of 95.3%. The paired sample t-test showed a significant value (2-tailed) of 0.000, and the N-gain score was 0.815, indicating high effectiveness. The study concluded that the developed application was feasible and effective in improving Grade IV students’ music learning outcomes, offering a practical model for integrating technology into elementary music education. The findings imply that the strategic integration of interactive mobile applications can bridge the gap between traditional music curricula and digital-age learners, providing a scalable framework for enhancing cultural literacy through technology-driven instruction.

Abstract

The limited use of innovative and digital based learning media reduces students' opportunities to gain meaningful and relevant learning experiences in real-life contexts. This situation has implications for low learning outcomes in Pancasila Education and becomes an obstacle in strengthening 21st-century skills. This research aims to develop learning media while assessing the feasibility and effectiveness of Digital Pop-Up Book media in Pancasila Education subjects. The research approach applied is RnD with reference to the ADDIE model, which includes the stages of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The research subjects involved teachers and fifth-grade students of Pener 01 Elementary School, Pemalang, Indonesia. Data collection techniques included expert assessments, student and teacher response questionnaires, and pre- and post-tests compiled based on learning outcome indicators. Data were analyzed using normality tests, homogeneity tests, t-tests, and N-Gain tests. The results of the t-test analysis obtained a Sig. (2-tailed) value of 0.000 (<0.05), which indicates a significant difference between the pre-test and post-test scores. In addition, the N-Gain value of 0.70 (70.0%) falls within the high category, indicating a significant increase in student learning outcomes. The developed Digital Pop-Up Book media was deemed highly feasible, as indicated by validation scores of 89% from media experts and 80% from material experts. Abstract

This study investigated the effect of AR-based diorama-assisted project-based learning on fourth-grade students’ understanding of photosynthesis and learning outcomes at Kalibanteng Kidul 01 Elementary School. A quasi-experimental non-equivalent control group design was employed, involving 60 Grade 4 students divided into an experimental group and a control group. The experimental group received instruction through project-based learning supported by an AR-based photosynthesis diorama, while the control group was taught using conventional instructional methods. Data were collected through pretests and posttests and analysed using normality and homogeneity tests, independent-samples t-tests, and N-Gain analysis. The results showed that the data met the assumptions of normality and homogeneity. The independent samples t-test indicated a statistically significant difference in posttest learning outcomes between the experimental and control groups (t = −5.088, p < 0.05). In addition, the experimental group achieved a higher mean posttest score and a higher N-Gain value than the control group. These findings demonstrated that AR-based diorama-assisted project- based learning was more effective than conventional instruction in improving students’ understanding of photosynthesis and learning outcomes.

Abstract

This study aims to measure the understanding of differentiated learning (DL) among primary education students as primary school teachers. Most research focuses on its implementation in schools, but rarely examines the extent to which prospective teachers are prepared to implement the curriculum. DL implementation in elementary and secondary education units is a particular concern for prospective teacher students. Curriculum changes also impact learning outcomes at the university level. Universities strive to produce outcomes that align with the needs of their respective fields. Teaching materials at universities need to adapt to DL as well. Students also need to become accustomed to new learning outcomes, namely being able to master, design, and practice all learning tools related to DL. The research method employed was a qualitative description, utilizing 107 multiple-choice questions. A total of 30 students became the subjects of this study. The questions given to students were adapted from the DL implementation book, which has six chapters. The score given was 1 for correct answers and 0 for incorrect ones. Therefore, each question received a score of 30 if it could be answered correctly by all students. The study’s results indicate that students’ understanding of DL remains low. The understanding of prospective teacher students in the PGSD study program, particularly at Khairun University, needs to be improved. Starting from the DL background, theoretical and empirical studies, and DL implementation, consisting of various types of grouping. For the scores obtained by students, 13 students achieved a correct score of 50% or above. If calculated overall, the classical achievement percentage was 43.33%.
