Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kebutuhan bahan ajar matematika materi bangun datar kelas III di UPT SD Negeri Tegalrejo 01 dan sebagai pedoman guru untuk membuat bahan ajar matematika dengan melibatkan teknologi agar menarik minat belajar siswa. Permasalahan yang ditemukan yaitu siswa kesulitan memahami sifat-sifat bangun datar, lemahnya hitungan perkalian dan pembagian, siswa kebingungan menempatkan rumus keliling dan luas bangun datar, dalam proses pembelajaran guru hanya menggunakan buku tematik saja tanpa adanya bahan ajar lainnya sebagai pendamping penjelasan materi bangun datar, serta keterbatasan informasi pada buku tematik dan kumpulan soal menyebabkan siswa kesusahan dalam memahami materi. Penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian kualititatif dengan mengumpulkan data melalui angket, wawancara, dan observasi. Instrument data berupa wawancara dan angket analisis. Hasil dari analisis yang dilakukan yaitu didapatkan sebanyak 94 % siswa sangat membutuhkan bahan ajar sebagai pendamping belajar. Bahan ajar yang dimaksud haruslah kreatif dan inovatif dengan mengintegrasikan teknologi yang penyajiannya didukung dengan konten – konten yang menarik, dan untuk mendorong minat siswa terhadap matematika dan memudahkan memahami konsep matematika. This research aims to analyze the need for mathematics teaching materials for class III flat figures at UPT SD Negeri Tegalrejo 01 and as a guide for teachers to create mathematics teaching materials involving technology to attract students' interest in learning. The problems found were that students had difficulty understanding the properties of flat shapes, weak multiplication and division calculations, students were confused about placing the formulas for perimeter and area of flat shapes, in the learning process the teacher only used thematic books without any other teaching materials to accompany the explanation of flat shape material, and limited information in thematic books and question sets cause students to have difficulty understanding the material. The method used is descriptive qualitative obtained from interviews, student needs questionnaires, and observations. The results of the analysis carried out were that 94% of students really needed teaching materials as learning companions. The teaching materials in question must be creative and innovative by integrating technology whose presentation is supported by interesting content, to encourage student's interest in mathematics and make it easier to understand mathematical concepts.

Abstract

Berpikir matematis sangat penting sebagai cara untuk mempelajari matematika. Menurut teori Harel istilah berpikir matematis tingkat lanjut berakar pada dua elemen pengetahuan: cara memahami (WoU) dan cara berpikir (WoT). Cara memahami mengacu pada bagaimana siswa menginterpretasikan suatu konsep tertentu dan hubungan antar konsep, memberikan solusi terhadap masalah, dan membenarkan apakah suatu keyakinan benar atau tidak, sedangkan cara berpikir adalah proses mental yang menghasilkan pemahaman siswa terhadap suatu hal. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menggambarkan cara siswa memahami dan berpikir dalam menyelesaikan masalah matematika yang terkait dengan trigonometri. Penelitian ini dilakukan di sebuah sekolah menengah atas di Jakarta Selatan, Indonesia. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas 11 yang telah mempelajari tentang trigonometri. Data dikumpulkan dari instrumen tes yang terdiri dari tiga masalah matematika terkait trigonometri dan hasil wawancara. Analisis data dilakukan dengan tiga tahap, yaitu teknik reduksi, penyajian, dan penarikan simpulan. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa cara memahami dan cara berpikir siswa saling memengaruhi. Jadi, dalam masalah trigonometri ini, cara berpikir siswa memengaruhi pemahaman siswa terhadap konsep, dan sebaliknya pemahaman siswa terhadap konsep memengaruhi cara berpikir mereka. Mathematical thinking is essential as a way of learning mathematics. According to Harel’s theory in defining the term advanced mathematical thinking, it is rooted in two pieces of knowledge: ways of understanding (WoU) and ways of thinking (WoT). Ways of understanding refer to how students interpret a particular concept and the relationship between concepts, give solutions to a problem, and justify whether a belief is true or not, while ways of thinking are a mental process that results in students’ understanding of a particular thing. The purpose of this research is to describe students’ ways of understanding and ways of thinking in solving mathematical problems related to trigonometry. The research was conducted at a senior high school in Jakarta Selatan, Indonesia. The subjects of the research were the students grade 11 who has learned trigonometry. The data were collected from the test instruments consisting of three mathematical problems related to trigonometry and interview transcript. The data analysis used in this research are reduction techniques, presentation, and drawing conclusions. The result of this research showed that students’ ways of understanding and ways of thinking influenced each other. So, in this trigonometry problem, students’ ways of thinking influence the students’ understanding of the concepts, and likewise students’ understanding of the concepts affects their ways of thinking.

Abstract

 Pemahaman matematis merupakan tujuan pembelajaran matematika. Akan tetapi, berdasarkan studi literatur dan observasi lapangan, pemahaman matematis siswa masih rendah. Salah satu faktornya adalah kurangnya pembelajaran yang dapat mendukung pertumbuhan pemahaman matematis. Oleh karena itulah, peneliti melakukan penelitian dengan tujuan mengembangkan modul ajar berbasis Pirie Kieren yang valid, praktis, dan efektif untuk mendukung pertumbuhan pemahaman matematis. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan dengan menggunakan model Plomp yang meliputi tiga tahap yaitu fase pendahuluan, pengembangan, dan assesmen. Instrumen pada penelitian ini adalah lembar validasi, lembar observasi pembelajaran, dan soal tes. Teknik analisis rata-rata digunakan untuk menentukan kevalidan dan kepraktisan produk berdasarkan skor pada lembar validasi dan lembar observasi pembelajaran. Sementara itu, uji-t (independent samples) digunakan untuk menentukan keefektifan produk berdasarkan skor tes siswa. Uji coba modul ajar dilakukan kepada 30 siswa kelas X SMAN 08 Malang. Berdasarkan hasil uji coba, diperoleh bahwa modul ajar memenuhi kriteria valid dengan skor validasi diatas 3,7, memenuhi kriteria praktis dengan skor observasi pembelajaran diatas 3,6, dan memenuhi kriteria efektif dengan hasil uji-t independent samples yang menunjukkan adanya kenaikan signifikan antara skor pretest dan posttest. Meskipun demikian tetap dibutuhkan penelitian lebih lanjut untuk mengembangkan modul ajar dengan model/ metode berbeda serta melakukan analisis terhadap proses pertumbuhan pemahaman siswa.   Mathematical understanding is the goal of mathematics learning. However, based on literature studies and field observations, students' mathematical understanding is still low. One factor is the lack of learning that can support the growth of mathematical understanding. Therefore, researchers conducted research with the aim of developing valid, practical and effective Pirie Kieren-based teaching modules to support the growth of mathematical understanding. This research is development research using the Plomp model which includes three stages, namely the preliminary, development and assessment phases. The instruments in this research were validation sheets, learning observation sheets, and test questions. The average analysis technique is used to determine the validity and practicality of the product based on the scores on the validation sheet and learning observation sheet. Meanwhile, t-test (independent samples) is used to determine product effectiveness based on student test scores. The teaching module trial was carried out on 30 class X students of SMAN 08 Malang. Based on the trial results, it was found that the teaching module met the valid criteria with a validation score above 3.7, met the practical criteria with a learning observation score above 3.6, and met the effective criteria with independent sample t-test results showing a significant increase between the pretest and posttest scores. However, further research is still needed to develop teaching modules with different models/methods and to analyze the process of growing student understanding.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi konsep matematika yang terdapat dalam Rumah Adat Betang Suku Dayak. Pendekatan penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif. Lokasi penelitian di lakukan di Desa Penyang, Kec. Telawang, Kab. Kotawaringin Timur. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah pengelola dari Rumah Adat Betang, sedangkan objeknya yaitu aspek matematika yang terkandung dalam Rumah Adat Betang. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Instrumen penelitian adalah peneliti sendiri dengan alat bantu pedoman wawancara dan pedoman observasi. Teknik analisis data menggunakan model analisis interaktif yang mengacu pada model Milles and Huberman. Teknik keabsahan data menggunakan triangulasi (metode). Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat konsep matematika pada rumah adat betang suku Dayak Ngaju. Berikut beberapa temuan konsep matematika diantaranya: Konsep geometri (titik, garis, persegi, lingkaran, tabung, balok), Pola bilangan Aritmatika, koordinat kartesius dan kurva. Karena keterbatasan peneliti dalam mengeksplorasi konsep-konsep matematika pada Rumah Adat Betang. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan penelitian lebih mendalam terkait konsep matematika pada rumah adat betang dan dikelompokkan berdasarkan jenjang sekolah.This research is aimed at finding out the mathematical concepts that exist in the Aboriginal House of the Tribe of Dayak. The research approach used is qualitative descriptive. The research is being carried out in Penyang Village, Telawang District, East Waringin District. The subject in this study is the administrator of the Aboriginal House Betang while the object is the mathematical aspects contained in the aboriginal house Betang. The data collection technique uses observations, interviews and documentation. The research instrument is the researcher's own tool with the help of the guidelines for interviews, and the guidance for observations. Data analysis techniques using an interactive analysis model that refers to the Milles and Huberman models. Data validation techniques using triangulation (metode). Based on the research results, it can be concluded that there are mathematical concepts in the traditional betang house of the Dayak Ngaju tribe. The following are some of the findings of mathematical concepts including: Geometric concepts (points, lines, squares, circles, cylinders, blocks), arithmetic number patterns, Cartesian coordinates and curves. Due to the limitations of researchers in exploring mathematical concepts in the betang traditional house. Therefore, more in-depth research is needed regarding mathematical concepts in betang traditional houses and grouped by school level.

Abstract

Bahan ajar berupa LKPD dan buku paket yang digunakan dalam pembelajaran matematika belum membantu siswa dalam memahami materi transformasi karena materi yang terdapat dalam LKPD dan buku paket belum berkaitan dengan kehidupan sehari-hari siswa.  Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan modul berbasis etnomatematika yang akan mengaitkan materi transformasi kelas 9 dengan bangunan masjid di Jember karena masjid berkaitan erat dengan kehidupan siswa.  Penelitian ini menggunakan metode R&D dengan desain model ADDIE yang terdiri dari lima tahap yaitu analisis, desain, pengembangan, implementasi, dan evaluasi. Subjek penelitian terdiri dari 30 siswa kelas 9 SMPN 1 Wuluhan. Metode analisis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah analisis kevalidan berdasarkan hasil pengisian angket validasi oleh tiga validator, analisis kepraktisan berdasarkan hasil angket respon siswa, dan analisis keefektifan berdasarkan skor tes hasil belajar siswa.  Berdasarkan hasil analisis kevalidan diperoleh total skor rata-rata kevalidan sebesar 3,7. Hasil analisis kepraktisan menghasilkan total skor rata-rata sebesar 3,39 dengan persentase 84,87%.  Hasil analisis keefektifan menunjukan 80% siswa tuntas secara klasikal. Berdasarkan hasil ketiga analisis tersebut, modul berbasis etnomatematika yang dikembangkan telah terbukti valid, praktis, dan efektif untuk digunakan sebagai bahan ajar sehingga dapat membantu siswa kelas IX memahami materi transformasi yang sudah dibuktikan oleh perolehan skor ketuntasan tes siswa.   Learning materials from student worksheets and textbooks in mathematics learning are not able to assist students understanding in transformation materials. If the material did not relate to student daily life. This study aims to generate an ethnomathematics-based module that will connect 9th-grade transformation materials with a mosque building in Jember since mosque related to student daily life. This study used the R&D method with ADDIE model design consisting of five stages, namely analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The subjects of the study consisted of 30 students in SMPN 1 Wuluhan. Data analysis methods used in this study were validity analysis according to the results of the validation questionnaire by three validators, practicality analysis according to the results of students’ response questionnaire, and effectiveness analysis according to the student learning outcomes. Based on the results of the validity analysis, the average score of validity analysis was 3.7. The results of the practicality analysis obtained an average score of 3.39 with a percentage of 84.87%. Moreover, the results of the effectiveness analysis showed that 80% of students have completed classically. According to the results of three analysis, the ethnomathematics-based module developed has been proved to be valid, practical, and effective to be used as learning materials so that it can assist 9th-grade students in understanding transformation materials as proven by the students' test completion scores.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu menghasilkan aplikasi matematika terintegrasi keislaman berbasis android untuk mengetahui level kognitif siswa dari segi kelayakan dan keefektifan pada aplikasi matematika terintegrasi keislaman berbasis android untuk mengetahui level kognitif siswa Penelitian ini menggunakan metode pengembangan sistem atau SDLC (System Development Life Cycle) dengan jenis SDLC waterwall. Data kuantitatif diperoleh dari angket uji produk pengembangan pada pengujian alpha dan beta, sedangkan data kualitatif diperoleh dari pengisian komentar dan saran, baik dari ahli maupun pengguna. Analisis data kuantitatif menggunakan teknik deskriptif persentase sedangkan data kualitatif diperoleh melalui pengisian komentar dan saran, baik dari ahli maupun pengguna. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa, berdasarkan pengujian alpha, modul yang disusun memiliki kelayakan dari ahli materi matematika sebesar 76,89% dikategorikan layak digunakan. Hasil dari ahli materi Keislaman rata-rata persentase sebesar 85,16% dikategorikan sudah layak. Hasil dari ahli desain rata-rata persentase 86,28% dikategorikan layak digunakan. Hasil uji coba terbatas pada pengujian betha rata-rata persentase 90,91%. Hasil dari uji coba kelompok besar pada pengujian betha yang diperoleh dari respons peserta didik memiliki rata-rata persentase 90,83% yang dikategorikan efektivitas baik. Dengan demikian, “Aplikasi Matematika Terintegrasi Keislaman Berbasis Android untuk Mengetahui Level Kognitif Siswa " layak digunakan.  The aim of this research is to produce an Android-based Islamic integrated mathematics application to determine students' cognitive level in terms of feasibility and effectiveness of an Android-based Islamic integrated mathematics application to determine students' cognitive level. This research uses a system development method or SDLC (System Development Life Cycle) with the SDLC type. waterwall. Quantitative data was obtained from development product test questionnaires in alpha and beta testing, while qualitative data was obtained from filling in comments and suggestions, both from experts and users. Quantitative data analysis uses descriptive percentage techniques, while qualitative data is obtained by filling in comments and suggestions, both from experts and users. The results of the research show that, based on alpha testing, the module prepared has the appropriateness from mathematics material experts of 76.89% and is categorized as suitable for use. The results from Islamic material experts with an average percentage of 85.16% were categorized as adequate. The results from design experts with an average percentage of 86.28% were categorized as suitable for use. The trial results were limited to beta testing with an average percentage of 90.91%. The results of large group trials on beta testing obtained from student responses had an average percentage of 90.83% which was categorized as good effectiveness. Thus, "Android-Based Islamic Integrated Mathematics Application to Determine Students' Cognitive Level" is suitable for use.

Abstract

Kemampuan numerasi merupakan salah satu kemampuan yang harus dimiliki siswa pada abad ke-21 untuk menyelesaikan permasalahan matematika dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif kualitatif dengan tujuan mendeskripsikan kemampuan numerasi siswa auditorial dalam menyelesaikan soal tes tertulis. Penelitian dilakukan dengan prosedur menyusun instrumen, menyebarkan angket gaya belajar untuk memilih subjek penelitian, mengumpulkan data penelitian dengan tes tertulis AKM dan wawancara yang dianalisis berdasarkan indikator numerasi, menguji keabsahan data dengan member check, menyajikan data penelitian, dan menarik kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian ini adalah siswa auditorial cenderung mampu menyebutkan strategi dan operasi matematika secara lisan. Siswa auditorial cenderung mampu menyajikan informasi yang ada pada soal secara lisan, tetapi terdapat siswa auditorial yang menyajikan informasi secara lisan dan tertulis. Siswa auditorial cenderung tidak mampu merepresentasikan model matematika dikarenakan tidak tahu bagaimana cara memodelkan, tetapi terdapat siswa auditorial yang mampu merepresentasikan model matematika dari permasalahan untuk mendapatkan solusi. Siswa auditorial cenderung mampu menerapkan strategi dan operasi yang dipilih untuk menyelesaikan soal secara tertulis dan lisan. Siswa auditorial cenderung mampu memberikan interpretasi dari hasil perhitungan yang telah dilakukan. Meskipun demikian, siswa tetap perlu dibiasakan mengerjakan latihan soal numerasi untuk meningkatkan kemampuan numerasi yang dimiliki.   Numeracy skills are one of the abilities that students must have in the 21st century to solve math problems in everyday life. This type of research is qualitative descriptive research with the aim of describing the numeracy skills of auditorial students in solving written test questions. The research was conducted with the procedure of compiling instruments, distributing learning style questionnaires to select research subjects, collecting research data with AKM written tests and interviews analyzed based on numeracy indicators, testing data validity with member checks, presenting research data, and drawing conclusions. The results of this study are that auditorial students tend to be able to mention mathematical strategies and operations orally. Auditorial students tend to be able to present information in the problem orally, but there are auditorial students who present information orally and in writing. Auditorial students tend to be unable to represent mathematical models because they do not know how to model, but there are auditorial students who are able to represent mathematical models of problems to get solutions. Auditorial students tend to be able to apply the strategies and operations chosen to solve problems in writing and orally. Auditorial students tend to be able to provide interpretations of the results of calculations that have been carried out. However, students still need to be familiarized with numeracy exercises to improve their numeracy skills.

The aim of this research is to produce an Android-based Islamic integrated mathematics application to determine students' cognitive level in terms of feasibility and effectiveness of an Android-based Islamic integrated mathematics application to determine students' cognitive level. This research uses a system development method or SDLC (System Development Life Cycle) with the SDLC type. waterwall. Quantitative data was obtained from development product test questionnaires in alpha and beta testing, while qualitative data was obtained from filling in comments and suggestions, both from experts and users. Quantitative data analysis uses descriptive percentage techniques, while qualitative data is obtained by filling in comments and suggestions, both from experts and users. The results of the research show that, based on alpha testing, the module prepared has the appropriateness from mathematics material experts of 76.89% and is categorized as suitable for use. The results from Islamic material experts with an average percentage of 85.16% were categorized as adequate. The results from design experts with an average percentage of 86.28% were categorized as suitable for use. The trial results were limited to beta testing with an average percentage of 90.91%. The results of large group trials on beta testing obtained from student responses had an average percentage of 90.83% which was categorized as good effectiveness. Thus, "Android-Based Islamic Integrated Mathematics Application to Determine Students' Cognitive Level" is suitable for use.

Abstract

Scaffolding-metacognitive is a strategy to help students understand mathematical material, but some teachers do not yet understand the extent to which they can use the metacognitive scaffolding strategy in the learning process. This study aims to determine teachers' perceptions of the implementation of scaffolding-metacognitive strategies in mathematics learning in secondary schools. Scaffolding-metacognitive strategies, combining step-by-step teaching with the development of students' awareness and control of their thinking processes, Scaffolding-metacognitive strategies are an effective approach to improving students' understanding of complex mathematical concepts and critical thinking skills. This study used a qualitative descriptive method and the participants consisted of 15 mathematics teachers from several high schools in Makassar City and Gowa Regency. Data were collected through in-depth interviews and direct observation during the learning process. We used the Miles & Huberman analysis framework to analyze the collected data, namely: (1) data reduction; (2) data interpretation and condensation; (3) verification and drawing conclusions. The results of data analysis showed that 60% of teachers did not understand the scaffolding-metacognitive strategy, teachers mentioned several implementation challenges, such as the difficulty of adapting strategies to students' different abilities and limited time to plan and implement learning. In addition, teachers must estimate students' actual and potential knowledge so that teachers can provide scaffolding according to students' needs. Teachers need further support and training to overcome the challenges they face when implementing scaffolding-metacognitive strategies. This research makes an important contribution to the development of more effective educational policies and teacher training programs to improve the quality of mathematics education in secondary schools.

Abstract

Kemampuan pemecahan masalah diperlukan oleh peserta didik dari mulai sekolah dasar hingga perguruan tinggi untuk mengetahui keterampilan proses berpikirnya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan proses berpikir aljabar mahasiswa berdasarkan representasional gesture dalam menyelesaikan masalah operational research. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan jenis penelitian studi kasus. Subjek penelitian ini merupakan dua mahasiswa manajemen semester II Unisla yang dipilih berdasarkan penggunaan representasional gesture yang bervariasi. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan secara triangulasi sumber dengan cara merekam aktivitas pemecahan masalah, mewawancarai dan mengamati hasil pekerjaan subjek. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa selama proses menyelesaikan masalah operational research mahasiswa menggunakan representasional gesture. Gesture yang digunakan dalam menyelesaikan masalah menggambarkan seberapa jauh proses penyelesaian masalah yang dapat dilakukan oleh mahasiswa. Subjek S1 mampu menyelesaikan masalah operational research dalam proses berpikir aljabar hingga tahap indikator mendeskripsikan aturan, namun pemahaman konsep pada materi aljabar kurang dikuasainya. Sedangkan subjek S2 m ampu melalui semua indikator proses berpikir aljabar hingga indikator terakhir yaitu menggambarkan perubahan pada proses berpikir. Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat menyoroti pentingnya komunikasi non verbal (gesture) sebagai bentuk pemahaman konsep dan identifikasi kesulitan yang dialami oleh mahasiswa agar pengajar dapat memberikan intervensi yang tepat. Problem solving skills are needed by students from elementary school to college to find out their thinking process skills. This study aims to describe the algebraic thinking process of students based on representational gestures in solving operational research problems. The research method used is qualitative research with a case study type of research. The subjects of this study were two second semester Management students of Unisla who were selected based on the use of varying representational gestures. Data collection techniques were carried out by triangulating sources by recording problem solving activities, interviewing and observing the results of the subject's work. The results showed that during the process of solving Operational Research problems, students used representational gestures. The gestures used in solving problems illustrate how far the problem solving process can be carried out by students. S1 subjects were able to solve operational research problems in the algebraic thinking process up to the indicator stage of describing rules, but their understanding of the concept of algebraic material was less mastered. While S2 subjects were able to go through all indicators of the algebraic thinking process up to the last indicator, namely describing changes in the thinking process. This study is expected to highlight the importance of non-verbal communication (gesture) as a form of understanding concepts and identifying difficulties experienced by students so that teachers can provide appropriate interventions.
