Abstract

The growth of coffee consumption in Indonesia in 2025 is projected to reach an average of 7% per year with total coffee consumption reaching 450,000 tons/year. The shift in coffee consumption patterns of generation Z from tubruk coffee to various coffee brewing variants such as cold brew, filter coffee, and iced coffee is an obstacle for KTH Tani Jaya in marketing coffee products at the Kepuh Tourism Location. Based on direct observations in the field, there are problems, namely: The Forest Farmers Group "Tani Jaya" has not mastered the techniques and variations of coffee brewing. The solution offered is coffee brewing technology to overcome the problem of the coffee brew served being predominantly bitter. The Community Service method that will be used is socialization, training, and mentoring in the application of coffee brewing technology. To measure the impact of the technology transfer provided, a descriptive analysis is used based on measuring the level of knowledge, understanding and skills regarding coffee brewing. The results of the training and mentoring that have been implemented have resulted in an increase in the level of knowledge, understanding and skills of coffee brewing by 39.4%, 48.5% and 50%, respectively.

Abstract

The problem of household organic waste management in Bumiaji Village, Batu City is increasing along with the cessation of the 3R TPS operation and the limited availability of final disposal sites. Waste burning and manual landfilling have a negative impact on the surrounding environment. The majority of people are unable to manage waste properly and according to data from the Central Statistics Agency 2020, waste originating from households is around 60% of waste, in this case if households are unable to manage waste, it will accumulate. Waste reduction must be carried out as much as possible from the source, namely reducing the amount of waste generated, increasing the amount of recyclable waste, or increasing waste that can be reused or better known as the 3R system. This community service aims to provide education and implement Black Soldier Fly (BSF) maggot cultivation as a solution for organic waste management. The methods used in this service are integrated maggot cultivation practices with chicken farming, socialization to PKK members and KBC communities, as well as monitoring and pre-post tests. The results of the activity show an increase in knowledge in organic waste management. This service shows that BSF maggot cultivation can be a sustainable waste management strategy and open up economic opportunities for the community. Further assistance is needed for the community to implement maggot cultivation as an organic waste management policy.

Abstract

This community service program was implemented to strengthen the competitiveness of the Puri Farm Living association in Tuban Regency, which operates in the dairy goat farming sector. The main challenges faced were the limited market for fresh goat milk, low shelf life, and high competition among farmers following the Covid-19 pandemic. To address these issues, diversification of derivative products such as kefir, crackers, and goat milk soap was carried out. This diversification aimed to increase added value, expand the market, and improve the sustainability of farmers' businesses. The methods used included problem identification, technology transfer, training, mentoring, and evaluation. The results of the activity showed an increase in partners' skills in processing goat milk into value-added products, an increase in selling prices from IDR 25,000–30,000 per liter to IDR 40,000–50,000 per liter, and the opening of marketing opportunities through marketplaces and social media. Thus, this program not only impacted Puri Farm Living's economy but also strengthened local-based MSMEs.Keywords: Up to six keywords should also be included.
