Abstract

This study aims at investigating the increases of children’s ages 5-6 years gross motor skills through origami activities at TK Pengembangan 21 Tacim, West Halmahera. This study is a Classroom Action Research (collaborative) which consists of two cycles in four meetings. The researcher acts as a teacher who runs the learning scenario while collaborator is a teacher assistant who act as observers (observers). The subjects of the study were 8 children of Class B Pengembangan Kindergarten 21 Tacim Kab. Halbar, they consist of 4 Male and 4 Female. Technique collecting data are observation and field notes. The instrument of research is observation sheets in the form of a checklist of children fine motor skills. The data were analyzed qualitative descriptive. The results of this study indicate that an increase in children's fine motor skills through origami activities in TK Tac 21 Pengembangan. Improvement of children gross motor skills in cycle I is 50% or 4 children of 8 children that were categozied very good and good in shapeing the paper neatly based on the shape of object. The result of cycle II indicates that 88% of children or 7 children of 8 children were categorized very good and good in shaping the paper quickly and neatly according to the shape of the object. Thus, origami activities can improve fine motor skills of children aged 5-6 years in TK Pengembangn 21 Tacim, West Halmahera.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peningkatan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa pada konsep kalor dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning. Penelitian ini mengikuti rancangan one-group pretest and posttest. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian eksperimen.  Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah  metode deskriptif kuantitatif. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data, dapat disimpulkan bahwa model  pembelajaran Problem Based Learning yang terdiri atas lima  sintaks yaitu orientasi, mengorganisasi, investigasi, menyajikan hasil data, dan evaluasi  Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran yang dilaksanakan dengan model pembelajaran  Problem Based Learning, dapat meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa dengan kategori sedang dan tinggi untuk XI-MIPA-1 dengan rata-rata N-Gain 63.80% dan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa dengan kategori sedang dan tinggi untuk XI-MIPA-2 dengan rata-rata N-Gain 69.89%. Pengujian normalitas di kelas MIPA-1 diperoleh data 2hit <2tab atau 5,39 < 35,175 dengan dk 23 dan taraf signifikansi (α)  0,05 atau 5%. Maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa data distribusi normal dan Pengujian normalitas di kelas MIPA-2 diperoleh data 2hit <2tab atau 7,06<30,144 dengan dk 19 dan taraf signifikansi (α)  0,05 atau 5%. Dengan demikian Ha ditolak dan Ho diterima. Artinya tidak terdapat perbedaan peningkatan yang signifikan pada penerapan model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning di kelas MIPA-1 dan MIPA-2. Maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning konsisten dalam penerapannya di kelas.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui sejauhmanakah penggunaan model pembelajaran siklus 5E untuk meningkatkan pemahaman membaca siswa di kelas 2 SMP Negeri 40 Halmahera Selatan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif khususnya pre -experimental dan menggunakan satu grup test awal dan test ahir. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas 2 SMP Negeri 40 Halmahera Selatan dengan total berjumlah 26 siswa. Peneliti menggunakan semua siswa di kelas tersebut sebagai sample dengan menggunakan  conveniont sample. Instrumen ini menggunakan soal pilihan ganda 50 butir soal test awal dan test ahir kemudian analisis menggunakan rumus t-test. Hasil ini menginformasikan bahwa ada perbedaan signifikan antara pretest dan posttest dari pencapaian siswa. Pada hasil nilai tes awal 914 dan tes akhir 1280, kemudian hasil dari analisis statistik pada level signifikan 0.05 dan degree of freedom (df) adalah 25. Menunjukkan bahwa t-test 11.34 lebih besar dari pada t-table 1.708. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa sebagian besar pemahaman membaca siswa meningkat sesudah menggunakan model pembelajaran siklus 5E.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui sejauh mana pengunaan model Ctl dalam belajar bahasa inggris terutama pada kosakata, pada siswa kelas dua MTS Nurul Hidayah Bobaneigo. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kuantitatif dengan uji-t. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa MTS Nurul Hidayah Bobaneigo yang khusnya kelas VII A yang terdiri dari 2 kelas yang berjumlah 42 siswa diantaranya pria 18 dan wanita 24. Sampelnya adalah 21 orang siswa kelas VII A. Peneliti memberikan tes sebelum treatment tentang kosakata, dan kemudian memberikan posttest setelah treatment. Hal ini dapat dilihat dalam hasil posttest menunjukan bahwa dari 21 siswa 2 siswa memperoleh luar biasa, 10 siswa memperoleh sangat baik, 6 siswa memperoleh baik, dan 3 siswa memperoleh cukup baik. Bahwa skor rata-rata di posttest 1.825. Lebih rendah di skor rata-rata di pretest 1.165. Berdasarkan data diatas pemahaman siswa masih rendah sebelum belajar melalui model pembelajaran CTL. Nilai t-test 4.48 lebih tinggi dari t-table 1.725 pada tingkat signifikan 0.05 itu adalah derajat kebebasan 20. Ini berarti bahwa Hi diterimah dan Ho ditolak. Hal ini menunjukan bahwa pengunaan model pembelajaran CTL signifikan untuk mengajar kosakata di siswa MTS Nurul Hidayah Bobaneigo.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to know the improvement of word search game method that can increase student‘s English vocabulary acquisition. This research was used Classroom Action Research (CAR) which was done in three circles, each circle explained preparation, action, observation and reflection step. Data sources are students, peers, researchers, documents. The results word search game with method steps: (1) prepare a word search game, (2) Game rules, (3) Divide the group, (4) Division of word search game, (5) the time restriction, (6) Doing word search game, (7) Correcting the work, (8) giving evalution, (9) reward. In the assessmen to flearning out comes increased 100%.

Abstract

Masalah penelitian ini adalah rendahnya kemampuan penalaran statistis (KPS) mahasiswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pencapaian dan peningkatan KPS mahasiswa melalui pembelajaran berbasis proyek berbantuan ICT (PBP berbantuan ICT). Penelitian ini berbentuk quasi eksperimen dengan desain kelompok kontrol pretes-postes. Jumlah sampel penelitian ini sebanyak 51 mahasiswa yang diambil secara purposive sampling dari 102 mahasiswa yang mengikuti perkuliahan pengantar statistika. Penelitian ini mempunyai dua variabel, yaitu: penerapan pembelajaran berbasis proyek berbantuan ICT sebagai variabel bebas dan kemampuan penalaran statistis mahasiswa sebagai variabel tak bebas. Instrumen yang digunakan untuk pengumpulan data adalah instrumen tes KPS berjumlah 6 butir soal berbentuk essay. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis secara deskriptif dan inferensial. Analisis deskriptif, meliputi: deskripsi pencapaian dan peningkatan KPS mahasiswa. Analisis inferensial adalah menggunakan statistik uji Mann-Whitney U. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pencapaian dan peningkatan KPS mahasiswa yang memperoleh PBP berbantuan ICT lebih baik dibandingkan yang memperoleh pembelajaran konvensional (PK). Pencapaian KPS mahasiswa yang memperoleh PBP berbantuan ICT dalam kategori baik sedangkan yang memperoleh PK dalam kategori cukup. Peningkatan KPS mahasiswa yang memperoleh PBP berbantuan ICT tergolong tinggi dan yang memperoleh PK tergolong sedang. Terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan pencapaian dan peningkatan kemampuan penalaran statistis mahasiswa antara yang memperoleh PBP Berbantuan ICT dan yang memperoleh PK. Signifikansi perbedaan tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan PBP berbantuan ICT dapat meningkatan kemampuan penalaran statistis mahasiswa.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the increase in learning outcomes of students in class V SD Inpres Labuha on the concept of reading comprehension by applying the cooperative learning model of the Think Pair Share type and to determine the activities of teachers and students when implementing the type of cooperative learning model Think Pair Share in grade V SD students. Labuha's Inpres on the concept of reading comprehension. The type of research used is Classroom Action Research (PTK). The research was conducted on the fifth-grade students of SD Inpres Labuha. The subjects of the research were 14 students of class V SD Inpres Labuha. The observer consists of two teachers, each with one teacher observing the activities of the teacher and another teacher observing the activities of students in the learning process. The techniques used in this research are test and non-test techniques. The test technique was used to determine student learning outcomes by using questions in the form of essays totaling 4 questions in cycle I and 4 questions in cycle II with a maximum score of 16. both classically and individually. The learning process that has been implemented is in accordance with the learning model Think Pair Share, starting from the stage Think (thinking individually), the stage Pair (pairing with a peer), the stage Share (sharing answers with other partners) can be carried out well by researchers and students class V SD Inpres Labuha. After being analyzed using descriptive statistics, it was found that an increase in student learning outcomes in class V SD Inpres Labuha through the cooperative learning model Think Pair Share on the concept of reading comprehension and the number of students who completed classical learning in the first cycle there were 8 students or 57%, in the second cycle, it increased. to 13 students or 92%, the results of observations on student activity increased by an average of 63% in the first cycle and 77% in the second cycle, while the results of teacher activity observations increased from 85% in the first cycle to 92% in the second cycle.

Abstract

The 2013 curriculum suggests that learning must be integrated or commonly known as integrated thematic learning. Thematic learning in elementary schools usually combines material on several subjects into one theme. The references used by both teachers and students are provided by the government, namely teachers’ book and students’ book. The teachers directly teach their students using references provided without analyzing or further developing by the teacher. The implementation of 2013 curriculum requires teachers to be creative in using various learning models and scientific approaches. With these demands the teacher should be able to develop teaching materials in accordance with the learning model. This research is motivated by the importance of developing integrated thematic teaching materials based on Problem Based Learning models that are able to improve the critical thinking skills of fifth grade students. The study was conducted for 3 months. This type of research is development research refers to the 4-D model proposed by Thiagarajan, but this research is limited to defining, designing and developing. The instrument used to assess the quality of teaching materials is a questionnaire with five categories, while students' critical thinking skills use test instrument. Data analysis was performed by descriptive analysis. The results of the analysis show that integrated thematic teaching materials based on Problem Based Learning (PBL) on heat and its transfer are stated to meet valid criteria and practicality, because teaching materials are developed based on supporting theories consistently and can be used easily. Whereas in the effectiveness test of integrated thematic teaching materials based on problem based learning, it was declared effective to be used because the developed teaching materials had a positive impact in increasing students' critical thinking skills.

Abstract

The problem with this research is the students’ low ability of statistical reasoning. This study aims to determine the students’ achievement and improvement of statical reasoning through project-based learning with ICT assistance. This research was in the form of a quasi-experimental design of the pretest-posttest control group. The numbers of samples of this study were 51 students taken by purposive sampling from 102 students who took statistics introductory lectures. This study has two variables, namely: the application of project-based learning with ICT assisted as an independent variable, and the students' statistical reasoning ability as an independent variable. The instrument used for data collection was six items of an essay the statistical reasoning test. The data obtained were analyzed descriptively and inferentially. Descriptive analysis, including a description of student statistical reasoning achievement and improvement. The inferential analysis is using the Mann-Whitney U test statistic. The results showed that the students’statistical reasoning achievement and improvement who received project-based learning with ICT assisted was better than those who obtained conventional learning. Students’ statistical reasoning Achievement who received project-based learning with ICT assisted in the good category while those who received conventional learning in the sufficient category. The increased student's statistical reasoning who received project-based learning with ICT assisted was relatively high and those who received conventional learning where classified as moderate. There is a significant difference in the achievement and improvement of students' statistical reasoning abilities between those who obtain project-based learning with ICT assisted and those who obtain conventional learning. The significance of these differences can be concluded that the implementation of project-based learning with ICT assisted can improve students' statistical reasoning abilities.

Abstract

The study focuses on the usefulness and the use of language as an instrument to associate a group of people in the society, both in the large and in the small groups to fulfill their everyday needs. They were described in the form of ideas and arguments that were investigated in the form of activities of library research design. The data were collected from many references both primary and secondary ones in terms of the topic. The primary data dealt with the roles and functions of language in terms of the usefulness and the usage of language in society. The findings of the study showed that language is used as an important instrument to connect people in many aspects of human life consisting of language in the world of education, language in the world of science and technology, language in economic and business contexts, language in the social and political contexts, language in the aspects of national defense and security, language and international relation.
