Abstract

Perkembangan pendidikan di Indonesia menuntut penilaian yang mendalam terhadap implementasi rencana pembelajaran di tingkat SMA/MA. Dalam konteks ini, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melakukan analisis terhadap kesesuaian komponen rencana pelaksanaan pembelajaran sesuai dengan pedoman yang diberikan oleh Surat Edaran Kemendikbud No. 14 Tahun 2019, serta mempertimbangkan standar proses yang berlaku di SMA Negeri 1 Madang Suku III dan MA Darussalam Batumarta VI Kecamatan Madang Suku III. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan jumlah populasi 50 guru SMA/MA di Kecamatan Madang Suku III. Sampel diambil dengan teknik purposive sampling yaitu dua orang guru biologi yang mengajar pada kelas X. Hasil penelitian menujukkan komponen RPP yang dibuat telah masuk dalam kriteria sesuai. Pada RPP guru biologi SMA Negeri 1 Madang Suku III, komponen yang berada dalam kriteria sesuai adalah tujuan pembelajaran dan penilaian pembelajaraan serta beberapa komponen pelengkap lainnya. Namun pada komponen langkah-langkah pembelajaran termasuk dalam kriteria kurang sesuai sedangkan pada RPP guru biologi MA Darussalam Batumarta VI, komponen tujuan pembelajaran, langkah-langkah pembelajaran, dan penilaian pembelajaraan serta komponen pelengkap lainnya termasuk dalam kriteria yang sesuai. Disarankan untuk guru agar terus mempelajari buku pedoman dan aturan standar pembuatan RPP, melakukan refleksi pada tujuan pembelajaran, menggunakan metode pembelajaran yang sesuai dan variatif, serta terus melakukan evaluasi pada pembelajaran.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hasil belajar peserta didik di MAN Tanjungpinang melalui penggunaan bahan ajar yang diterapkan. Hal ini dilatarbelakangi oleh adanya keterkaitan mengenai kualitas bahan ajar yang digunakan dengan hasil belajar yang didapatkan oleh peserta didik. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif dengan metode pengumpulan data menggunakan wawancara dokumentasi. Wawancara dilakukan terhadap seorang guru Biologi MAN Tanjungpinang dan Dokumentasi yang dianalisis dalam penelitian ini merupakan dokumen hasil belajar. Fokus dalam penelitian ini meliputi antara lain (1) pengetahuan guru mengenai bahan ajar, (2) bahan ajar yang digunakan dalam mata pelajaran biologi, (3) kendala penggunaan bahan ajar, dan (4) hasil belajar peserta didik. Dari hasil wawancara diperoleh informasi bahwa bahan cetak yang digunakan berupa LKS dan buku teks. Adapun sebagai sumber belajar pendukung, guru juga memperbolehkan siswa berselancar di internet untuk mencari wawasan tambahan terkait materi yang sedang dipelajari karena bahan ajar yang digunakan pada pembelajaran kurang efektif. Hal ini dibuktikan dengan hasil belajar siswa dari nilai Ujian Tengah Semester menunjukkan hasil yang kurang memuaskan, terlihat dari nilai yang diperoleh dari ujian tengah semester peserta didik yang masih di bawah Kriteria Ketuntasan Minimal.

Abstract

Argumentation skills are important to train in learning, so that students have logical reasoning, a clear and rational view of the things being studied. This research aims to examine the implementation of the lesson study-based problem based learning (PBL) model in improving students' argumentation skills. The method used in this research is classroom action research with a quantitative descriptive approach carried out in two cycles. Data was collected using pretest-posttest instruments, argumentation skills observation sheets (Toulmin's argumentation pattern), and lesson study-based PBL syntax implementation observation sheets. The results showed that there was an increase in the implementation of PBL syntax from cycle I (76.9%) to cycle II (92.3%). Likewise, there was a significant increase in students' argumentation skills in each cycle. In the first cycle, there was an increase in the distribution of posttest scores where the percentage of students began to reach levels 3 and 4, while in the second cycle, there was a further increase where the majority of students managed to reach levels 3 and 4 in argumentation skills. The conclusion of this research is that the implementation of lesson study-based PBL can effectively improve students' argumentation skills. It is recommended that further research conduct an in-depth study of the content in each component of argumentation so that a more holistic understanding of students' argumentation skills is obtained.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menyelidiki integrasi etnobotani dalam pengetahuan asli Arat Sabulungan masyarakat Mentawai sebagai bagian dari implementasi etnopedagogi dalam kurikulum Merdeka. Suku Mentawai di Indonesia dikenal dengan pengetahuan tradisionalnya yang kaya, khususnya dalam pemanfaatan tumbuhan dan nilai etnobotani. Metode tinjauan literatur sistematis, mengikuti kerangka kerja PRISMA, digunakan untuk mengidentifikasi dan mengevaluasi literatur yang relevan dengan topik tersebut dari periode 2017-2024 sebanyak 498 dan dilakukan penyaringan menjadi 50 artikel. Studi ini menemukan bahwa integrasi pengetahuan etnobotani ke dalam materi biologi sekolah mendorong siswa untuk belajar tentang tumbuhan dan manfaatnya dalam konteks kesehatan dan kehidupan sehari-hari, serta memperkuat pemahaman mereka tentang warisan budaya dan nilai-nilai berkelanjutan. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan kolaborasi yang lebih erat antara pengetahuan ilmiah dan tradisional untuk menjaga keanekaragaman hayati dan lingkungan. Hal ini juga menyarankan perlunya kurikulum yang inklusif yang memberi tempat pada etnosains dalam pendidikan untuk melindungi warisan budaya dan memperkaya pengalaman pembelajaran biologi.

Abstract

ABSTRACT. Education plays a critical role in developing the potential of each individual, and the quality of the teaching and learning process is vital for the success of the education undertaken by students. Innovative learning designs that meet student needs are required. Genetic material in biology, which is complex and conceptual, requires deep understanding. Therefore, it is important for educators to use teaching strategies that allow students to better understand genetic concepts. The purpose of this study is to evaluate genetic teaching strategies including curriculum analysis, approaches, and the application of various models, methods, and media in learning. This research method is qualitative with a descriptive approach, aiming to describe current genetic teaching practices, including the use of TPACK by teachers. Data was collected through literature study with stages such as data collection, organization, analysis, interpretation, and conclusion with descriptive qualitative data analysis. The analysis results were verified by experts. The findings show that teachers have implemented various approaches, models, methods, and learning media. The success of the learning process greatly depends on effective teacher planning so that students can clearly understand the material. These findings provide useful information for teachers to implement TPACK in genetics learning. Keywords: TPACK, Content Representation, Genetic ABSTRAK. Pendidikan memiliki peran yang sangat penting dalam mengembangkan potensi setiap individu, dan kualitas proses belajar mengajar sangat menentukan keberhasilan pendidikan yang dijalani Peserta Didik. Diperlukan desain pembelajaran yang inovatif dan sesuai dengan kebutuhan Peserta Didik. Materi genetika dalam biologi, yang bersifat kompleks dan konseptual, membutuhkan pemahaman yang mendalam. Oleh karena itu, penting bagi pendidik untuk menggunakan strategi pembelajaran yang memungkinkan siswa memahami konsep genetika dengan lebih baik. Tujuan dari studi ini adalah untuk mengevaluasi strategi pengajaran genetika yang mencakup analisis kurikulum, pendekatan, serta penerapan berbagai model, metode, dan media dalam pembelajaran. Metode penelitian ini bersifat kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif, dan bertujuan untuk menggambarkan praktik pengajaran genetika saat ini, termasuk penggunaan TPACK oleh guru. Data dikumpulkan melalui studi literatur dengan tahapan seperti pengumpulan data, pengorganisasian, analisis, interpretasi, dan kesimpulan dengan analisis data secara kualitatif deskriptif. Hasil analisis diverifikasi oleh tenaga ahli. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa guru sudah menerapkan berbagi pendekatan, model, metode dan media pembelajaran. Kesuksesan proses belajar sangat bergantung pada perencanaan guru yang efektif sehingga siswa dapat memahami materi dengan jelas. Temuan ini memberi informasi yang berguna bagi guru untuk mengimplementasikan TPACK dalam pembelajaran genetika. Kata Kunci: TPACK, Content Representation, Genetika

Abstract

The research was on the environmental awareness and attitude of biology college students. The samples were 50 using purposive technique sampling. The research approach was quantitative descriptive. The study was recommended to describe environmental awareness and attitude. The study was also done to determine the level of awareness and environmental behavior of Biology college students.. Researchers employed the Environmental Awareness Test and the Environmental Attitude Scale, both created by Dr. Haseen Taj and Dr. K Yeshodara, to gauge participants' levels of environmental awareness. According to the findings of the Unpaired T-Test analysis, there is a difference in the attitudes and levels of environmental awareness between environmental students and non-environmental students. The p values for environmental awareness and environmental awareness are 0.049 and 0.024, respectively, less than 0.05.. Furthermore, this study paves the way for future research endeavors to investigate the underlying factors influencing environmental awareness and attitudes.

Abstract

Scientific argumentation aimed at reaching a rational perspective on science, scientific concepts, or elements within a scientific procedure. This study is experimental research employing a pretest-posttest control group design. The research was conducted with a population of 44 fifth-semester students majoring in biology education. The sample selection was performed using random sampling, consisting of two classes (experimental and control), each comprising 22 students. Data for the research were collected through pretests and posttests, which included 10 questions with five argumentation indicators via the minimum structure essay test. The research findings demonstrated an enhancement in students' ability to articulate their comprehension of the material when utilizing teaching materials compared to those who did not. As a result, it is recommended that the incorporation of teaching materials into the learning process be implemented in various other courses to foster the development of argumentation skills, including the presentation of claims, data, warrants, backing, and effective rebuttals in the learning process.

Abstract

This study was conducted to determine the extent to which research skills have been mastered by prospective biology teacher in learning at universities and to determine the need for developing research skills. Research skills are defined as skills using information literacy and basic biology laboratory skills related to research. An analysis of curriculum documents and examples of RPS from the biology education study program at one of the universities in the Kepulauan Riau Province was carried out to explore lecture designs that prepare students' research skills. A total of 25 alumni (graduates) of the study program were involved in a perception survey of how important research skills are for them in the workplaces. 27 final year students were also involved in providing self-assessments about their ability to master information literacy and basic biology laboratory skills. Data was analyzed qualitatively and quantitatively. Data analysis resulted that the researcher profile is one of the targets for graduates of biology education study programs but has not been supported by course designs. Research skills are needed by alumni in the workplaces and are very relevant to support their careers. Information literacy and basic biology lab skills have not been fully mastered by final year students. There is an urgency to equip students with more adequate skills so that students are better able to carry out research, including completing their studies.

Abstract

This research aims to develop learning media by integrating artificial intelligence (AI) that is able to detect the emotions of prospective teacher during genetics lectures. Using AI technology, this system can evaluate the cognitive load of students in real-time through facial expression analysis. The method used involves collecting data from lecture sessions, which are then analyzed using machine learning algorithms to identify cognitive load levels. The results of the study show that this learning media is able to identify students' emotions. This learning media is equipped with accurate emotion detection features, interactive learning materials, and an informative dashboard to monitor student learning progress. The implementation of this technology is expected to improve the quality of learning and help students achieve a better understanding of genetics courses.

Abstract

Science learning cannot be separated from the environmental context, including local wisdom. One of the treatments known among the people of Padang City is Paureh. Paureh is a concoction consisting of pieces of leaves of medicinal plants which function for the treatment of fever, measles, regurgitation, new homes and so on. The purpose of this research is to analyze and reconstruct the community's knowledge (indigenous science) about Paureh into scientific knowledge in order to find out the types of diseases, traditional medicinal methods and medicinal plants used and it is hoped that it can also contribute information to ethnobotany enthusiasts in developing technology for the utilization of medicinal plants used by various ethnic groups in Indonesia. This study uses an ethnoscience-based qualitative approach with interview and observation methods. Data analysis uses the Miles-Huberman model which includes data reduction, data presentation, drawing conclusions and verification. Based on the results of the study, it showed that the Paureh material had ethnomedicin value that could be used by the community. Reconstruction from community knowledge to scientific knowledge gives scientific meaning to the rules or beliefs that belong to the local community. So that scientific knowledge can be used as a source of learning, especially in science learning.
