Abstract

The Montessori method remains a significant focus in early childhood education due to its emphasis on independence, exploration, and sensory-based learning. This study aims to map global academic trends on Montessori research from 2016 to 2024 using a bibliometric approach. Data were retrieved from the Scopus database using keywords such as “Montessori education,” “early childhood,” and “alternative learning models.” Analysis was conducted using VOSviewer, R (Bibliometrix), and Microsoft Excel to examine citation patterns, keyword associations, and geographical publication distributions. The results reveal fluctuating citation trends, with a peak in 2020 and a notable decline by 2024. Keyword mapping shows strong associations between Montessori and early childhood education, with emerging links to educational technology (EdTech). The United States leads in research output and academic influence, followed by Australia and Italy. This study introduces a new perspective by exploring the intersection between Montessori education and EdTech an area still underrepresented in early childhood research. The findings contribute conceptually by emphasizing how digital integration could sustain and innovate Montessori pedagogy. Overall, the study highlights the relevance of Montessori in contemporary education and encourages cross-disciplinary collaboration to explore its evolution in the digital era.

Abstract

This research applied Critical Discourse Analysis to investigate how students engage in bilingual mathematics classes at two Islamic boarding schools (pesantrens) in Jember. It aimed to understand how language is used by both students and teachers throughout the learning process and the ways it impacts student involvement. Data were gathered through classroom observations, audio recordings, and field notes. The Initiation-Response-Follow-up (IRF) model was used for analysis. The study revealed that students' ability to participate is closely tied to their confidence in speaking English and the encouragement they receive from teachers. These insights underscored the need for inclusive communication methods and psychological support to boost participation in bilingual classrooms. The research also offered a deeper look at how language functions in educational settings and what that meant for teaching practices in bilingual environments. Ultimately, the findings can help shape more effective teaching strategies within bilingual education, particularly in pesantrens, leading to improved learning experiences and greater student engagement.

Abstract

Fokus penelitian ini berkisar pada permasalahan hasil belajar yang dibawah standar. Kajian ini berfokus pada komponen yang mempengaruhi hasil belajar, atau model pembelajaran. Fokus penelitian ini berkisar pada sejauh mana model pembelajaran CORE berdampak pada prestasi belajar siswa. Model pembelajaran CORE dipilih secara khusus sebagai pendekatan pembelajaran untuk penyelidikan ini. Dengan menggunakan metode Quasi Experimental dengan desain non-comparable Control Group, pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan wawancara dan penilaian, sedangkan uji t digunakan untuk menilai disparitas hasil belajar siswa antara kelompok eksperimen dan kontrol. Temuan penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kelompok eksperimen yang menggunakan model pembelajaran CORE memperoleh hasil belajar yang tinggi, sedangkan kelompok kontrol yang menggunakan model pembelajaran konvensional memperoleh hasil belajar yang tinggi dan rata-rata

Abstract

Matematika merupakan ilmu yang melatih dan mengembangkan kemampuan berpikir. Kemampuan berpikir tingkat tinggi (HOTS) merupakan kemampuan teratas dalam tingkatan kemampuan berpikir, berdasarkan taksonomi Bloom dalam kemampuan berpikir tingkat tinggi (HOTS) adalah kemampuan berpikir kritis dan berpikir kreatif. Metode pemebelajaran matematika yang bersifat pembelajaran terpusat pada siswa adalah Outdoor Mathematich. Metode pembelajaran Outdoor Mathematich merupakan alternatif metode pemeblajaran yang mampu meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Quasi-Experiment. Hal ini dikarenakan tidak memungkinkan pemilihan sampel secara acak karena telah terbentuknya satu kelompok utuh seperti kelompok siswa dalam satu kelas, sehingga jika dilakukan lagi pengelompokan secara acak maka akan menyebabkan kekacauan jadwal pelajaran. Perbedaan rata-rata atau mean yang berarti diterimanya hipotesis kerja (H1) dengan ketentuan hipotesis kerja yang telah diajukan yaitu H_1: μ_1≠μ_2 dan berarti hipotesis nol ditolak. Besarnya perbedaan rata-rata atau mean kedua kelompok ditunjukkan pada kolom Mean Difference, yaitu -1,77419. Dikarenakan memiliki nilai negatif, maka berarti kelas konvensional/ceramah memiliki mean lebih rendah dari pada kelas Outdoor Mathematich. Berdasarkan hasil perhitungan dan analisis data telah dilakukan dalam uji hypothesis yang diajukan di penelitian, jadi dapat ditarik kesimpulan dalam metode pembelajaran Outdoor Mathematich yang diberikan pada kelas eksperiment mempunyai pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap kemampuan berpikir tingkat tinggi (HOTS)

Abstract

Research on plastic waste aims to apply an environmentally conscious attitude to the students of Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Bustanul Ulum, regarding the reuse of plastic waste by creating a shadow that is more useful and suitable to use, of course, within the scope of learning. Our main goal is to reduce the risk of plastic waste accumulation, because this plastic waste is very difficult to decompose so it takes a very long time around 50-80 years to decompose naturally with the soil. The item that we will make is in the form of Solar System Learning Media from the plastic waste earlier. In the implementation of this activity, we use practicum observation methods and documentation. We fill in the observation method here by directly reviewing the research location and making power points related to educational materials during socialization for the creation of Learning Media, including preparing materials, tools, and auxiliary materials during the practicum later.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the integration of Islamic values in mathematics education through a bibliometric approach, with a focus on trends in educational management. The background of this research lies in the growing attention to value education within the context of holistic education, alongside the lack of systematic mapping regarding the relationship among the concepts of "Islamic", "Mathematics", and "Education." Utilizing VOSviewer software, bibliographic data from scientific publications over the past ten years were analyzed to identify keyword networks, thematic trends, and the intensity of author contributions. The visualization results indicate that mathematics education serves as a central node, closely connected to Islamic values, student-centered learning, and blended learning, signaling a strong integration of spiritual values with modern learning approaches. Moreover, the linkages with STEM and science education demonstrate that Islamic value-based education is highly compatible with the direction of globalized education. The heatmap visualization also reveals authors' contributions to key themes, showing a balanced tendency between specialization and generalization. This study concludes that the development of holistic mathematics education management must integrate cognitive, affective, and spiritual aspects cohesively, while promoting contextual, adaptive, and value-based policies and curricula.

Abstract

This study aims to describe and analyze the basic teaching skills of english teachers at SDN Tegal Besar 2. The research was motivated by the importance of pedagogical competence as mandated by the Teacher and Lecturer Law, particularly the ability to apply eight components of basic teaching skills. A qualitative descriptive approach was employed, involving observation, interviews, and documentation with english teachers of grades IVa, IVb, Va, Vb, VIa, VIb. Data validity was through triangulation of techniques and sources. The results showed that teachers have generally implemented the eight components of basic teaching skills—opening and closing lessons, explaining, questioning, variation, guiding discussions, reinforcement, classroom management, and evaluation—quite well. The use of concrete methods, educational games, and digital media such as Quizzis and Wordwall contributed positively to students’ motivation and engagement. But in stating learning objectives, variation in activities has not been implemented optimally. Overall, the study concludes that basic teaching skills significantly influence the effectiveness of english learning in elementary schools, and teachers are encouraged to strengthen vocabulary strategies, consistently communicate learning goals, and develop more innovative teaching methods to enhance student learning outcomes.

Abstract

This research aims to evaluate the critical thinking skills of fourth-grade students at SDN Tegal Besar 02 in Science (IPA) lessons, with a focus on the topic of force. The method used is a descriptive qualitative approach, which collects data thru a written test consisting of 10 essay questions based on critical thinking criteria according to Ennis. Researchers also conducted interviews with the subject teachers. The findings of this study indicate that students' critical thinking skills vary, with the majority falling into the low to medium category. The elementary clarification and basic support aspects are in the moderate category, while abilities in the inference, advanced clarification, and strategy and tactics aspects are still considered low. Additionally, researchers found that learning motivation, whether stemming from external or internal factors, plays a significant role in critical thinking skills. The students' own lack of motivation and the lack of support from their surroundings can hinder the learning process. Therefore, the research also found the importance of implementing varied, interactive, and contextual learning methods at the primary education level, accompanied by efforts to increase students' intrinsic and extrinsic motivation, so that critical thinking skills can develop optimally in science learning and help students face future educational challenges.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the errors made by students of the Islamic Elementary School Teacher Education Program (PGMI) in solving mathematical problem-solving tasks through outdoor learning assisted by the match city map application. The research employed a descriptive qualitative approach focusing on error analysis to identify the types, patterns, and causes of students’ errors. The subjects consisted of three students selected purposively based on high, medium, and low mathematical abilities. Data were collected through problem-solving tests, interviews, participatory observations, and documentation of students’ work. The results reveal three main types of errors: conceptual, procedural, and presentation errors. High ability students mostly made procedural and presentation mistakes: medium ability students showed inconsistencies in unit handling and calculation accuracy while low ability students exhibited fundamental conceptual misunderstandings. The factors contributing to these errors include insufficient understanding of mathematical concepts, procedural difficulties, limited ability to connect problems with real contexts, inaccuracy in notation, and lack of effective problem-solving strategies. These findings highlight importance of differentiated instructional approaches and the integration of digital, context based media to enhance the problem-solving skills of future Islamic elementary school teachers.
