Abstract

Oil palm plants are a type of plant that undergoes pollination through the mediation of polinator agents because of the position of male flowers and female flowers in separate flowers. Elaeidobius kamerunicus is an effective insect for oil palm plants. This research was carried out on oil palm plantations of PT. Karya Tanah Subur (PT. KTS) of West Aceh Regency. This research was conducted from February to March 2018. The collection of insect samples using the Purpose Sample method (sample determined), which uses 4 blocks of plants with different age groups of 4,5,6 and 7 years. Each age group on each block uses 6 sample plants. The parameters of this research is abundance of pollinator insects. The results show the abundance of pollinator insects not influenced by plant age and altitude, but are influenced by the time of sampling. Domination index of palm oil pollinator insect simpons at PT. Karya Tanah Subur (KTS) is worth 0.9280 which means high evenness. The abundance of oil palm pollinators affects the average production of oil palm at PT. Karya Tanah Subur (KTS)

Abstract

The presence of plant visiting insects can occur a infection of disease on banana plants caused by fungi pathogenic, therefore information of types of insects vector and fungal pathogens carried is important to know. The aim of this study is to detect potential insects as vectors and types of pathogenic fungi on banana plants at University Farm, Teuku Umar University. The method used was purposive sampling by collecting insects, then continued with insect identification, isolation of pathogenic fungi, and characterization isolates of pathogenic fungal. The results showed that there were three potential vectors as insects on banana plants at UTU University Farm, namely Tachypeza sp., Bactrocera sp., And Erionota trax. The types of pathogenic fungi carried by the three vector insects are the fungus Curvularia lunata , Mycosphaerella and Fusarium oxysporum.  Keywords: Banana, insects vector, plant visiting insects, fungi pathogenic, isolation

Abstract

The production of melon was decline due to decreased production area and also pest and disease offence. The pest attacks occur in the vegetative and generative phase, but the most damaging and detrimental are in generative phase. This study aims to determine the diversity of insects on melon plants. The study was conducted in September 2018 in experimental gardens and laboratory of Agriculture Faculty, Teuku Umar University. The results of the study obtained the abundance of insects in melon plants amounted to 374 individu, which consists of 38 spesies. Insects are found to have different character, there are as pest, parasitoid, and predator. The fruit flies (Tephritidae) is the dominant of pest that attack melon in generative phase. Diversity of Shannon-Wienner indeks shows 0.820, that mean the diversity in melon plant in generative phase was lowly. Key word: diversity, fruit flies, insects, melon

Abstract

The South-West Region of Aceh is one of the regions in the province of Aceh that is very rich in local rice diversity that needs to be identified and utilized as a source of genes in ssembling new superior varieties to support food security and sustainable agriculture. This study aims to determine the presence of potential local rice genotypes in the South-West Region of Aceh. This research was carried out in the South-West region of Aceh for potential local rice exploration. The survey results in the Aceh Barat-Selatan region have several potential genotypes of local rice in districts in the South-West Aceh region that are still cultivated by farmers in the south, while potential local gonotypes of rice in the South-West Aceh region, namely Aceh Jaya district: , Jantoeng, Sikleng, Ramos, Sijane, Dewi and Leukat Jeuram, West Aceh districts: Itam Tangke Lango, Head of Gidan Kinco, Lekat jero Lango, Sirendeh Semantuk Wayla and Bo Rayek Semantok Wayla. Abstract

Soybean leaf roller known as Lamposema indicata. These insects attack the leaves of soybean plants by rolling up soybean leaves, that are launched 3-4 weeks after planting. The research aims to find out application of Jathropha curcas extract againts the mortality of soybean leaf roller pest (Lamposema indicata) and reduce damage to soybean plants. This research was conducted in the experimental garden, Faculty of Agriculture, Teuku Umar University in October to November 2019. The research was arranged in a non factorial Completely Randomized Design consisting of 4 levels with 5 replications. The factors experience is Jathropha curcas seed extract concentrate are E1 (control), E1 (20%, E2 (13.3% and E3 (10%). The results shows Lamprosema mortality shows the highest found in the E3 regulation, this is because in the E3 setting it has a high concentration so that the composition of the poisons contained is also high. Castor seed extract (Jatropha curcas) contains the composition of phorbol ester and cursin. Based on the observations displayed during the observation, namely changes in behavior, slowing movement of larvae, discoloration from clear green to pale yellow and compacting of the larva's body cavity.Keywords: Effectiveness of concentration, mortality, leafworm caterpillars

Abstract

Abundance and diversity of parasitoids is strongly associated with the presence of pests and vegetation around cucumber plantings. This study aims to determine the abundance and diversity of parasitoid species in cucumber plantings. The research was conducted at four cucumber planting locations in Bogor, West Java. Insect sampling is done using yellow pantraps and malaise traps. The results show the highest species abundance obtained at the Cibatok of 632 individuals and the lowest in Cibanteng 197 individuals. The highest Shannon-Wiener index value at Cangkurawuk is 4.2927 and the evenness of species is 0.92. The high abundance of individuals is not always accompanied by the higher value of diversity and evenness too.Keywords: abundance, cucumber, diversity, parasitoid

Abstract

Pemanfaatan burung hantu (Tyto alba) sebagai pengendali hama tikus telah menjadi alternatif pengendalian yang prospektif bagi perkebunan kelapa sawit, termasuk bagi PT. Socfindo Kebun Seunagan. Meskipun demikian efektifitas penggunaan burung hantu ini masih belum terukur dengan baik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui potensi dan keberadaan populasi Tyto alba sebagai pengendali hama tikus pada perkebunan kelapa sawit PT. Socfindo Kebun Seunagan. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada Maret-Mei 2021 di perkebunan kelapa sawit Divisi II PT. Socfindo Kebun Seunagan. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode survey dilengkapi dengan data sekunder berupa data perusahaan dan studi referensi. Pengamtan dilakukan terhadap populasi Tyto alba dan hama tikus di sekitar sarang Tyto alba. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan jumlah sarang yang terdeteksi keberadaan Tyto alba sebanyak 4 sarang dari total 9 sarang burung hantu yang diamati. Indikator keberadaan burung hantu yang dilakukan berupa: anakan, bulu, telur, dan sisa makanan. Hasil sensus serangan hama tikus diketahui rata-rata serangan sebesar 33% dari 1.008 pohon sampel. Sedangkan ambang batas ekonomi serangan hama tikus di PT. Socfindo yaitu <3%. Maka jika dibandingkan, tingkat serangan hama tikus di PT. Socfindo sangat tinggi. Untuk meningkatkan efektivitas maka dilakukan peningkatan populasi Tyto alba yaitu; satu pasang dan satu sarang burung hantu di setiap 20 Ha. Sedangkan di Divisi II PT. Socfindo Kebun Seunagan hanya 15% jumlah sarang dengan  total kebutuhan yaitu 59 sarang burung hantu untuk memenuhi kebutuhan di luasan lahan 1.176,31 Ha.

Abstract

Tanaman pisang (Musa spp.) merupakan salah satu komoditi hortikultura yang memiliki nilai ekonomi di Indonesia. Dalam budidaya tanaman pisang, melibatkan peran berbagai organisme baik sebagai hama maupun musuh alami (parasitoid) yang dapat mempengaruhi produksi tanaman pisang. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui keragaman parasitoid pada tanaman pisang di Aceh bagian Barat. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di tiga lokasi, yaitu Desa Ranto Panyang (Aceh Jaya), Desa Peunaga Cut (Aceh Barat), dan Desa Blang Sapek (Nagan Raya). Kegiatan pengidentifikasian dilaksanakan di Laboratorium Hama Fakultas Pertanian. Penelitian dilaksanakan dari bulan Agustus 2019 sampai dengan Desember 2019. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode purposive sampling. Parameter yang diamati adalah keragaman parasitoid dan persentase parasitasi.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat tujuh spesies parasitoid yang ditemukan pada tanaman pisang di ketiga lokasi, yaitu spesies Brachymeria sp., Chalcididae sp., Gasteruptiidae sp., Cotesia sp., Pediobius sp., Xanthopimpla sp., Pediobius sp., Dirhinus sp.. Tanaman pisang (Musa spp.) merupakan salah satu komoditi hortikultura yang memiliki nilai ekonomi di Indonesia. Abstract

Budidaya tanaman kelapa sawit (Elaeis guineensis J.) sangat bergantung pada lingkungan dan teknik budidaya yang dilakukan sehingga menghasilkan produktivitas yang optimal. Keberadaan gulma di perkebunan kelapa sawit dapat memicu kerugian di berbagai aspek, sehingga penting dilakukan inventarisasi gulma untuk menentukan pengendalian yang efektif dan efisien. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui komposisi, frekuensi, struktur gulma dan indeks keanekaragaman gulma yang terdapat di lahan sehingga dapat digunakan sebagai data inventarisasi gulma pada perkebunan kelapa sawit Afdeling I, perkebunan Jaya Seujahtera PT. Agro Sinergi Nusantara. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan Mei 2022 dengan menggunakan metode survey yaitu pengamatan langsung dan pendataan gulma di lapangan. Pengambilan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode garis sepanjang 10m, 3 garis dan diulang sebanyak 3 kali. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa komposisi gulma terdiri dari 13 famili, 20 spesies, dan 7590 populasi gulma. Nilai frekuensi (F) berkisar dari 1x sampai 5x, KR 0.36% - 24.76%, FR 1.67% - 8.33%, DR 0.36% - 24.76%, NP 2.38% - 57 .85%, SDR 0.79% - 19.28% dan Diversity Indeks (H') sebesar 2,46.Kata kunci: Elaeis guineensis Jacq, Gulma, Analisis Vegetasi, Indeks Keanekaragaman Gulma, PT. Abstract

Terung (Solanum melongena L.) merupakan salah satu produk hortikultura yang menjadi sumber gizi dan serat, serta menjadi sumber pendapatan petani, dalam memenuhi permintaan masyarakat, dibutuhkan hasil produksi yang optimal, namun terdapat berbagai faktor pembatas diantaranya adanya serangan penyakit pada tanaman terung. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk penyakit yang menyerang tanaman terung di lahan petani. Penelitian ini dilakukan di lahan terung milik petani di Desa Gunung Kleng Kecamatan Muerebo Kabupaten Aceh Barat Provinsi Aceh. Metode penelitian ini adalah observasi, wawancara, identifikasi gejala penyakit tanaman, dan analisis persentase dan intensitas serangan penyakit. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan gejala penyakit yang menyerang tanaman terong pada lahan petani begejala bercak daun yang diindikasikan dari patogen golongan fungi Cercospora, sp., Hasil analisis persentase serangan penyakit tngkat serangan rendah sebesar 38,72%, sedangkan intensitas serangan penyakit (49,00%) yang berkriteria sedang. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dibutuhkan pengendalian penyakit secara terpadu seperti sanitasi lahan, pengendalian secara mekanis, dan pengendalian secara hayati. Kata kunci : tanaman terung, wawancara, bercak daun, persentase serangan penyakit, pengendalian penyakit
