Abstract

Tujuan – Sains dan teknologi memberikan dampak terhadap berbagai aspek kehidupan. Namun, minat siswa terhadap sains dan teknologi semakin menurun. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui sikap siswa terhadap pembelajaran sains. Pengetahuan ini dapat digunakan untuk mengidentifikasi strategi pembelajaran sains di kelas. Metode – Penelitian deskriptif ini menggunakan kuesioner untuk menggambarkan sikap siswa terhadap pembelajaran sains di kelas. Aspek yang digambarkan antara lain lingkungan belajar, keterlibatan siswa, kesejahteraan, kognitif dan tingkah laku. Sebanyak 85 siswa merespon kuesioner yang diberikan dan data hasil respon siswa dianalisis menggunakan statistik deskriptif. Hasil – Seluruh pernyataan menunjukkan penyebaran data yang baik dengan rentang standar deviasi dari 0,634 sampai 0,974. Distribusi nilai rata-rata dari setiap item (pernyataan) mengindikasikan rentang respon antara M=3,68 hingga M=4,18. Rata-rata skor untuk aspek lingkungan belajar, keterlibatan siswa, kesejahteraan, kognitif dan tingkah laku masing-masing adalah 3,99. 3,93, 3,99, 3,78, dan 3,84. Hasil tersebut menunjukkan bahwa mayoritas siswa cenderung setuju terhadap pernyataan setiap aspek yang diukur. Temuan – Siswa menunjukkan sikap positif terhadap pembelajaran sains dari aspek lingkungan belajar, keterlibatan siswa, kesejahteraan, kognitif dan tingkah laku.

Abstract

This community service activity was conducted by lecturers from Universitas Pattimura at SMA Negeri 57 Central Maluku to introduce physics learning through a project-based STEAM approach. The focus was on renewable energy, implemented through a hands-on project of building gas-powered mini cars. Students were actively engaged in collaborative learning, which significantly enhanced their enthusiasm, creativity, and understanding of the concept of work. Evaluation showed the approach to be effective, though a longer project duration is recommended for optimal outcomes. This activity is expected to serve as a model for innovative science learning and to strengthen the partnership between universities and schools. Keywords: STEAM, Project, Higher- order thinking.

Abstract

This research was conducted at Belimbing 1 State High School. This research aims to determine the effect of student worksheets based on the guided discovery learning model on critical thinking.This type of research is quantitative, using a quasi-experimental method with a nonequivalent control group design. The sample in this study consisted of 47 students, of which the control class consisted of 24 and the experimental class consisted of 23. Data collection techniques use written tests with research instruments in the form of essay questions. Data were analyzed using the t-test. Theresults of data analysis using the t-test in the control class and experimental class showed that Tcount was greater than Ttable, namely 5.201 > 2.01410 and Sig. (2-Tailed) = 0.000 < 0.05. It is concluded that there is a significant influence on the use of student worksheets based on the Guided Discovery Learning learning model on critical thinking skills. It was concluded that there was an increase in critical thinking skills after learning using student worksheets based on the Guided Discovery Learning learning model in the high category. In this way, student worksheets based on the Guided Discovery Learning learning model are able to foster students' critical thinking abilities. Keywords       : Guided Discovery learning model, Critical Thinking Ability, Student Worksheets.

Abstract

Plant growth and development is one of the topics included in the current Indonesian education curriculum for Grade XII in senior high schools, and it is also known to be one of the challenging and difficult topics for students to understand. At present, there is no available learning media that adequately supports teachers in explaining this material optimally. Additionally, the time allocated for laboratory practicum activities is minimal. One of the media that can visualize the process of plant growth and development in a short amount of time is an interactive PowerPoint multimedia on the growth and development of lettuce (Lactuca sativa L..) through a floating raft hydroponic system. This study was conducted to evaluate the effectiveness of using interactive PowerPoint multimedia in teaching the topic of plant growth and development to Grade XII students in senior high school. The research was carried out in two stages. The first stage involved observing lettuce growth and development, conducted at Greenhouse Orchid Center in Pontianak. The second stage involved evaluating the effectiveness of the interactive PowerPoint multimedia by biology teachers from 12 senior high schools in Pontianak, using a closed questionnaire comprising seven criteria and 20 questions. The evaluation results showed that the interactive PowerPoint multimedia was highly effective (87.25%) and met all the predetermined criteria. Abstract

This study aims to analyze the results of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) project seminars and assess the effectiveness of Project-Based Learning (PjBL) in the Primary School Teacher Education (PGSD) Program at Universitas Pattimura. The background of the research stems from the demands of the 21st-century curriculum, which emphasizes the development of critical, collaborative, creative, and communicative competencies through contextual and applicable learning. The study employs a quantitative descriptive approach with data collected through seminar observations, project documentation, and student perception questionnaires. The research participants included fourth-semester students who had participated in STEM project seminars and project supervisors. The number of students was 30 students. Data were analyzed using the interactive model of Miles and Huberman, which includes data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The integration of STEM project seminars based on Project-Based Learning (PjBL) can enhance teachers’ pedagogical competence and their skills in developing learning activities aligned with the Merdeka Curriculum.  The results show that the STEM project seminars were successfully implemented, marked by active student engagement, systematic presentations, and innovative products that practically integrated STEM elements. Project-Based Learning was found effective in enhancing conceptual understanding, 21st-century skills, as well as students' motivation and self-confidence. However, in-depth mastery of STEM concepts and students’ professional readiness still require improvement through intensive guidance and training. Overall, the STEM project seminar plays a strategic role as both an evaluation medium and a reinforcement of project-based learning within teacher education. The study recommends the development of integrative STEM guidelines and a more systematic project evaluation model to support the achievement of professional competencies among PGSD students.

Abstract

The purpose of this community service is to strengthening teachers’ competence about diagnostics test for deep learning approach. The community service is conducted to address the challenges of Indonesia’s new curriculum policy about deep learning based on meaningful learning. The implementation methods include opening, materials explanation, discussion, assessment, and closing. Assessment was conducted by questionnaire and test. The result of the assessment from the questionnaire shows positive responses from teachers.  The average scores each statement ranges from 82% to 97%. It indicates a high level of participant satisfaction with the community service. The teachers gained strengthened knowledge about deep learning and the development of diagnostic instruments. The results indicate that the teachers found this community service beneficial, relevant to classroom needs, and applicable in teaching. In addition, most teachers were aware of diagnostic instruments (61,1%), but only a few teachers had ever developed them (5.6%) or conducted them in their classroom (11.1%). It shows that the implementation of the diagnostics test is still limited before conducting the training.  The result of the assessment from the test shows the mean score obtained by the teachers was 86,67. A total of 16 out of 18 teachers (88,9%) scored  80, which is categorized as good, while 2 teachers scored below 80. Thus, the percentage of teachers exceeded the predetermined achievement indicator of 70%. It is hope that this activity can help teachers in supporting deep learning approach at classroom.
