Abstract

The objective of this research was to reveal seven sections, namely the definition of nahwu, the identification of the term nahwu, its implications and section, the time of the development of the science of nahwu, and its status was purely Arab or influenced by other cultures of nations other than the Arabs, and the author of the first nahwu, and the reason for the emergence of nahwu, and the role of nahwu and its history in the development of Arabic language education. The model in this paper is explanatory. Its approach is qualitative. Data collection techniques are documents. The data analysis in this research followed four steps from Miles and Huberman. This research concludes that the definition of nahwu is the intention. It has nine other meanings. Defining the term nahwu is the change that follows the end of the word. As for the status of nahwu, there are two different opinions, and they are in the first version of Islam and nahwu is in the Arabs older than the first version of Islam. Scientists went on to develop the science of nahwu. First, they agree that the status of nahwu is purely Arabic. Second, they see nahwu as a transfer from the Greek language. Third, they believe nahwu was initially purely Arabic and later influenced by Greek philosophy. As for the first author of the science of nahwu, most scholars agree that the first author of the science of nahwu is Abu Al-Aswad Al-Du'ali by order of Ali bin Abi Talib. The reason for the emergence of nahwu is the distortion of the melody and the corruption of tongues after the spread of Islam and the mixing of Arabs with other nations that embraced Islam. As for the role of nahwu and its history in the development of Arabic language teaching, there are two opinions. The first mixed in the research of nahwu, derivation and morphology, or derivation and morphology. The second was in Arabic sciences three sciences. They are nahwu or grammar, derivation, and morphology. These three sciences are still taught and taught under one name, nahwu.

Abstract

Listening skill is one of the important points in language teaching. In teaching Arabic (listening), it becomes the first element of competence. Listening is receptive efficiency, so it is important in college. Every student must have an unconscious understanding of this proficiency. The purpose of this research is to study the basic theory and the implementation of mahārah al- istimā’ in higher education. The research method is to search the references using a qualitative approach. Interviews and library research were conducted to collect the data which then concluded for a new thesis. Language acquisition is based on the theories of listening in Qur'anic verses, language acquisition devices, perception, motivational response, and the linguistic environment. The main thing is that listening is a part of a language acquisition. The listening skill theory has evolved from linguistics theory to the theory of receptive language teaching, which is the overall psychological response, the natural approach, and the silent period. The stages of the listening skill in higher education use an Arabic standard based on ACTFL and MSA, which is then applied in the unit book. The sample of the higher education unit books are TOSA and ALBA.

Abstract

The effectiveness of organizational performance is deeply influenced by the quality of human resource management (HRM). When implemented effectively, HRM serves as a strategic tool that enhances organizational success. For Muslims, Islamic principles are integral to every aspect of life, including HRM. However, the implementation of Islamic HRM practices faces a significant challenge: the lack of sufficient Islamic education in this field. This research addresses this gap by exploring strategies for integrating Islamic principles into HRM practices, emphasizing the role of Islamic education in equipping HR managers with the necessary knowledge and ethical framework. The study examines key HRM functions, including recruitment, selection, orientation, performance evaluation, training and development, compensation and benefits, and career development, through the lens of Islamic teachings. Using an exploratory qualitative approach, the research reviews existing literature from academic journals, books, and articles on Islamic management principles and HRM practices. The findings reveal that incorporating sharia principles into HRM functions not only leads to mutually beneficial outcomes for employers and employees but also aligns professional practices with spiritual goals, securing blessings and rewards from Allah. The study concludes that organizations and their workforce can achieve both worldly success and spiritual fulfillment when HRM practices are aligned with Islamic principles, underscoring the importance of Islamic education in realizing this potential.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Speaking skill (Mah?rah al-Kal?m) in Arabic is becoming an essential aspect in mastering Islamic knowledge, especially for students in the pesantren environment. However, the reality in the field is showing that many students are experiencing difficulties in developing this skill because the teaching methods being used are not stimulating oral activities optimally. This study is aiming to analyze the effectiveness of the Hiw?r method (dialogue) in improving the Mah?rah al-Kal?m of grade XI students at Madrasah Aliyah Bustanul Ulum Jayasakti. This research is using a Classroom Action Research (CAR) approach conducted in two cycles, with 37 students as the subjects. Each cycle is consisting of the stages of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. Data collection techniques are including observation, documentation, and demonstration, with data being analyzed using descriptive quantitative methods. The results of the study are showing that students’ Mah?rah al-Kal?m ability is increasing significantly from 40% in the pre-cycle to 64% in cycle I, and reaching 84% in cycle II. This improvement is indicating that the implementation of the Hiw?r method is giving a positive impact on students' Arabic speaking skills. In addition to increasing students’ confidence and active participation, this method is also creating a more communicative and contextual learning atmosphere. Therefore, the Hiw?r method is being recommended as an effective learning strategy in developing Mah?rah al-Kal?m, and it is having promising application prospects across various levels of Islamic education.

Abstract

This research aims to explore in depth how students of the Arabic Language Education Study Program utilize artificial intelligence (AI) in the academic writing process, and how such practices reshape pedagogical, cognitive, and ethical dimensions within higher education. This research use qualitative approach with an exploratory-interpretive case study design, data were collected through semi-structured interviews, limited participant observations, and analysis of student manuscripts before and after AI-assisted revisions. The findings reveal that students employ AI across three core functions: as a catalyst for  conceptual development and structural planning, as a linguistic and cohesive revision tool, and as a facilitator of academic self-efficacy. However, significant ethical dilemmas emerge, including ambiguity in intellectual attribution, unclear boundaries of AI contribution, and the absence of institutional regulation. Patterns of AI interaction varied by institutional context: reflective at UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta, pragmatic at Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta, and philosophical at STAI Masjid Syuhada. This research recommends the development of AI literacy and digital ethics curricula, along with clear institutional policies regarding the use of AI in academic writing. Additionally, continuous training and equitable digital access are needed to ensure that AI integration occurs fairly and reflectively.

Abstract

This study originates from the increasing use of artificial intelligence-based translation tools such as Google Translate and Chat-GPT in translating culturally embedded texts like Indonesian proverbs. The research focuses on the comparative analysis of translation outputs from both tools, particularly in the context of translating 26 selected Indonesian proverbs into Arabic. The objective is to evaluate how well each tool captures both the structural and semantic aspects of these culturally nuanced expressions. Using a qualitative descriptive method, the translations were analyzed through the lens of structural and semantic linguistics. The analysis revealed that while Google Translate tends to render literal translations that often fail to convey idiomatic or metaphorical meanings accurately, Chat-GPT demonstrates a higher capability in interpreting and contextualizing the intended meanings of the proverbs. The findings highlight a significant difference in the depth of linguistic and cultural understanding between the two tools, with Chat-GPT showing greater effectiveness in semantic adaptation. This suggests that AI-powered conversational models can provide more contextually appropriate translations, particularly for texts rich in cultural values. The study concludes that linguistic intelligence, especially in semantic interpretation, is crucial in achieving meaningful cross-lingual translation of idiomatic expressions.

Abstract

Arabic language immersion has been widely recognized as an effective approach to second language acquisition; however, its implementation in Islamic higher education remains underexplored, particularly within culturally specific contexts like Indonesia. This study aims to explore and conceptualize a contextually grounded model of Arabic language immersion in Indonesian Islamic universities through a phenomenological lens. Research was conducted at three prominent institutions with established Arabic programs: UIN Sunan Kalijaga, University of Darussalam Gontor, and Ar-Raayah College of Arabic Language in Sukabumi. A total of 18 participants—including instructors, curriculum developers, and students—were selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected via in-depth interviews, participant observation, and documentation, and analyzed using thematic analysis to uncover patterns from participants' lived experiences. The findings reveal that effective immersion is structured around four interrelated components: (1) an integrated and spiral curriculum, (2) intensive Arabic-only environments, (3) religious-cultural contextualization through Islamic practices, and (4) sustained institutional support. These elements form a holistic immersion framework that aligns linguistic competence with Islamic educational values. The study contributes to the theoretical discourse on language immersion by offering a culturally embedded model. It provides practical guidance for Islamic institutions aiming to enhance Arabic programs through authentic, pedagogically coherent strategies.
