Abstract

The aging network kidney causes Oxidative Stress (OS) and damages the kidney. Studies of aging kidneys keep going growing by developing sirtuin as an antiaging. Sirtuin 1 (SIRT1) is a protein implicated in several disorders including diabetes functions as an anti-aging protein. Decreased eGFR in the elderly caused by his height prevalence factor risk disease kidney at an older age. The study aims to study the correlation between oxidative stress, SIRT1 serum levels, and eGFR in the elderly.  The method used in this research is observational with the cross-sectional method. The sample in this study was the whole elderly who met the inclusion and exclusion criteria, totaling 30 people. Exclusion criteria are patients with glomerulonephritis, nephropathy obstruction, nephropathy sour veins, and obesity. All patients complied requirements asked to fill informed consent form. The inspection was carried out by urinalysis ultrasound kidney and assessing serum MDA levels which were found to be higher in this study. This study showed SIRT1 and eGFR levels decreased in the elderly. There was a negative correlation with moderate correlation strength between serum MDA levels and serum SIRT1 levels and a strong correlation between serum MDA levels and eGFR in the elderly. There was a positive correlation with a moderate correlation between serum SIRT1 levels and eGFR in the elderly. SIRT1 is suggested to be examined in elderly patients with decreased eGFR, even without comorbidity.

Abstract

Early childhood, the golden age of growth and development for children, is a very critical period in the stage of human development. Since 2003, the government has issued Law No. 20 of 2003 concerning the national education system, including the PAUD education system (early childhood education). According to the Ministry of Education and Culture, in the 2020–2021 school year, 6,346,193 early childhood education students in Indonesia were members of private and public educational institutions. According to early childhood education statistics, more classrooms are lightly damaged than good. The learning process in early childhood education institutions takes place actively and involves children who are at the most active and energetic stage, so they need ergonomic learning facilities whose size is determined by the child's body size and which are comfortable and safe. The ergonomic design of this learning facility also aims to maintain bone health and early childhood posture because it is still vulnerable and easy to change. After all, it is still in its infancy. Evaluation of school benches, measurement of children's anthropometric data, and education on the importance of using ergonomic school equipment have been carried out in one of the PAUD/TK locations in the Koto Tangah sub-district. The results obtained by the school bench used are quite ergonomic when compared to the anthropometric size of students at the school.

Abstract

Diabetes mellitus is a metabolic disorder characterized by the loss or progressive dysfunction of insulin-producing cells in the pancreas, leading to multiple long-term complications and organ damage. Dadiah is one of the traditional probiotic milk products in West Sumatra that is rich in lactic acid bacteria (BAL). Dadiah contains Lactobacillus fermentum which has characteristics as a probiotic and stimulates endogenous antioxidants. The study aimed to determine the difference in the effect of giving curd with dadiah probiotics (L. Fermentum) on changes in the structure of Langerhans pancreatic islets in streptozotocin-induced diabetes model rats. Methods This study was experimental with animals using 2 control groups and 3 intervention groups, namely the negative control was normal intervention mice, the positive control was diabetic mice without intervention. P1 in the 3g/300g BB intervention group, P2 in the low dose (L. Fermentum) probiotic intervention (7.1 × 1010 CFU/mL) and P3 in the high dose 2 probiotic intervention × 7.1 × 1010 CFU/mL)) each group consisted of 5 mice, the intervention lasted for 8 weeks, then organ sampling was carried out. The results of pancreatic histopathology and Langerhans islets showed that in the 3g/300g BB treatment of curd gave an overview of the best cell repair close to negative control (-)/normal Conclusion: Dadiah and probiotic have been pathologically proven to provide anatomical improvement to Langerhans islet cells that undergo degeneration and necrosis in diabetic model mice, due to the presence of antioxidant and probiotic activity. Therefore, dadiah and probiotic dadiah have proven to be useful as a supportive therapy for diabetics.

Abstract

The high incidence of DM causes diabetes to become a health problem. For this reason, other supportive therapies are needed such as the use of probiotics which are known to have antidiabetic effects, high antioxidants and as anti-inflammatory that can improve the structure and function of organs. This study aims to determine the effect of dadiah administration on the histopathological picture of liver hepatocyte cells in diabetic model mice. The research method was an experimental study of male white rats of the wistar strain of white rats, which were divided into control groups and treatment groups. The previous treatment group in Induction became a type 2 diabetes rat model by injecting Streptozotocin (STZ) 45 mg/kgBB intraperitoneally. Dadiah intervention and BAL isolates were administered for 2 months and were analyzed the histopathological picture of rat liver tissue after the intervention and compared with controls. The results of the study showed an improvement in the histopathological structure of the liver in DM rats that experienced damage to liver tissue hepatocyte cells by the administration of dadiah and probiotics (L. Fermentum) at both low dose and high dose (p-value 0.001). The conclusion that dadiah and probiotic dadiah have been shown to be pathologically anatomically beneficial to degenerative and necrotic liver hepatocyte cells in diabetic rat model, due to their antioxidant and anti-inflammatory activity.
