Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui peningkatan hasil belajar PPKn dan karakter siswa melalui penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe make a match. Metode penelitian ini adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas, jumlah subjek adalah sebanyak 30 siswa yang berasal dari siswa kelas 1 Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Swasta Teladan GUPPI Kota Tebing Tinggi Tahun Akademi 2014/2015. Penulis melakukan pengumpulan data dengan cara melakukan observasi terhadap kegiatan guru dan siswa, tes hasil belajar siswa serta angket. Dari hasil penelitian berupa kegiatan awal, kegiatan lanjutan (siklus I ) dan Siklus II ternyata penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe make a match pada pembelajaran tema 5 “Pengalamanku” sub tema 1 ”Pengalaman masa kecil” dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar PPKn siswa. Hal itu diketahui dari hasil penilaian yang sudah dilaksanakan oleh peneliti yang dilakukan selama 2 siklus. Pada siklus 1 perolehan nilai rata-rata pada observasi (ranah afektif) untuk kegiatan guru sebesar 72,73 dan 89,77% pada siklus 2 dan untuk kegiatan siswa sebesar 74,67% pada siklus 1 dan menjadi 86,59% pada siklus 2. Ketuntasan hasil belajar siswa pada siklus 1 adalah 71,67% dan pada siklus 2 95,0%. Hasil perolehan rata-rata angket karakter siswa adalah 76,08% (kategori cukup) pada siklus 1 dan 87,33% (kategori baik) pada siklus 2. Berdasarkan data hasil belajar menyimpulkan bahwa penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe make a match pada pembelajaran tema 5 “Pengalamanku” sub tema 1 ”Pengalaman masa kecil” dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar PPKn dan karakter siswa.

Abstract

This research aims to develop learning media under the title "Development of a Mathematics Dictionary as a Learning Media for Students in Elementary, Middle School and High School". The aim of this research focuses on developing appropriate, effective and practical learning media in mathematics lessons. With the hope that the resulting product can provide optimal learning outcomes for each student and be useful for teachers in selecting learning media. This research uses a type of development research method, namely Research and Development. According to Sugiyono Research and Development is a research method used to produce certain products and test the effectiveness of these products. Research and Development functions to develop and validate products. Developing a product means updating/creating a new product (which has never existed before). Validating a product means that the product already exists, and researchers are only testing the validation or effectiveness of the product. So it can be concluded that the R&D method is a research method that produces the product you want to develop. The product that the author will develop is the Development of a Mathematics Dictionary as a Learning Media. This research uses a Research and Development design using the Borg and Gall model.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the impact of using mathematical puzzles in trigonometry learning. The problem faced is the low interest and motivation of students in learning trigonometry as well as the lack of understanding of basic concepts. To address this issue, a descriptive research method with a case study approach was used, involving students from MAS Hidayahtullah Medan as research subjects. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and literature studies. The results of the research indicate that the use of mathematical puzzles significantly increases students' interest and motivation. Mathematical puzzles make learning more enjoyable and challenging, thereby motivating students to better understand trigonometry material. Additionally, mathematical puzzles are also effective in enhancing the understanding of basic trigonometry concepts, as evidenced by students' improved ability to solve trigonometry problems after using this medium. The conclusion of this study shows that mathematical puzzles are an effective learning medium to increase students' interest, motivation, and understanding in trigonometry learning. It is hoped that mathematics teachers can integrate mathematical puzzles into the learning process to create a more engaging and effective learning environment.

Abstract

Background. Many factors are related to the independence of the elderly in fulfilling Activities-of-Daily-Living (ADL), namely age, health status, nutritional status, physical and mental health, history of chronic diseases, immobility, easy to fall, depression, mental and cognitive function, the role of midwives, the role of cadres, the role and support of the family, social, economic, religious conditions, physical activity and the activity of the elderly. Research Objectives. Analyze the relationship between the level of independence of the elderly in carrying out Activities-Daily-Living and related factors. Research Methods. Analytical-quantitative with a cross-sectional design, in August-2023 to January-2024, in Kecamatan-Tigo-Nagari, Kabupaten-Pasaman, Prvinsi-Sumatera-Barat. Purposive-sampling technique, obtained a sample of 105 elderly. KATZ Index research instrument. Univariate and bivariate data analysis using the Chi-square-Test. Results. Univariate analysis, the majority of elderly have the following levels of independence: independent 79 people (75.2%), aged between 60-69 years (Young Elderly) 58 elderly (55.2%) and female 61 elderly (58.1%), low education (elementary school) 90 elderly (85.7%) and previously unemployed 88 elderly (83.8%). The majority of elderly have income 85 elderly (81%), have a spouse 78 elderly (74.3%) and have few chronic diseases (<2) 60 elderly (57.1%). Bivariate analysis, the relationship between 7 related factors (age, gender, education, previous job, income, spouse, and chronic disease) with the level of independence of the elderly, which is significantly related only to income with p-value = 0.001. The strength of the relationship between income and level of independence was assessed from the Odds Ratio (OR)=5.704. While age (p-value=0.193), gender (p-value=0.782), education (p-value=0.348), previous job (p-value=1.000), partner (p-value=0.145), chronic disease (p-value=0.870) were not related. Conclusion. The majority of elderly living in West Sumatra Province have a high level of independence, aged 60-69 years (young elderly), female, low education (elementary school), previously unemployed, have a partner, have income, have few chronic diseases (<2). There is a significant relationship between income and the level of independence of the elderly with p-value = 0.001. Elderly who earn compared to those who do not earn have a 5 times greater chance of increasing the independence of the elderly with OR = 5.704.

Abstract

This research aims to develop research-based teaching materials to increase independent learning for students majoring in Indonesian language and literature. In this research, the development model used as a reference is using the 4D model. The 4D model is a learning device development model and an abbreviation for Define, Design, Development and Disseminate developed by Thiagarajan (1974). Based on the results of the feasibility test assessment that was carried out on research-based teaching materials, an assessment of the feasibility of the material was 88.98%, the feasibility of the media was 85.46%, and the student response test was 90.5%. The three of them got an average score of 88.31%. So, based on the percentage obtained by the three, the research-based teaching materials developed have met the requirements and received the status of appropriate teaching materials to be used as teaching materials for courses in writing scientific articles and publications in the Indonesian Language and Literature Education Study Program. An assessment of the student article writing component was obtained with an overall average score of 81.17 in the "very good" assessment category. This proves the success of research-based teaching materials in supporting independent learners for students majoring in Indonesian language and literature.

Abstract

Cataract is an eye disease characterized by clouding of the lens. Cataracts that develop after the age of 60 are referred to as senile cataracts, a leading cause of blindness among the elderly, marked by progressive lens opacification. Hypertension is one of the risk factors, where cataracts may develop through mechanisms involving increased oxidative stress. This research to analyze the correlation between the duration of hypertension and the stage of senile cataracts. This study falls under ophthalmology and internal medicine. It used a quantitative analytical method with a cross-sectional design. Primary and secondary data were collected from senile cataract patients. A total of 35 patients were selected using purposive sampling, based on inclusion and exclusion criteria. Most patients were in the young elderly group (60–69 years; 71.4%), female (65.7%), and housewives (60%). The majority had hypertension for ≤5 years (62.9%) and were diagnosed with immature cataracts (71.4%). A Spearman correlation test showed a significant correlation (p = 0.01; r = +0.561) between the duration of hypertension and cataract stage. The longer the patient had hypertension, the more advanced the cataract stage. There is a significant correlation between the duration of hypertension and the stage of senile cataracts.

Abstract

Scabies is a contagious skin infection caused by the mite Sarcoptes scabiei, characterized by intense itching and the appearance of a rash. It most commonly affects children and the elderly, with prevalence among children ranging from 5% to 50%. Scabies spreads easily through both direct and indirect contact. Practicing Clean and Healthy Living Behavior (CHLB) is essential in preventing transmission. Health education through outreach programs plays a crucial role in increasing public knowledge and awareness about disease prevention. The Faculty of Medicine at Baiturrahmah University conducted a community service activity as part of the Medical Baiturrahmah Social in Action (MBSA) event, which included education on scabies transmission prevention and the importance of CHLB to help curb the spread of the disease and raise awareness about the importance of hygiene. This activity is expected to reduce the incidence of scabies and inspire the community to incorporate CHLB into their daily.

Abstract

Photoaging is a complex skin aging process that results from prolonged exposure to ultraviolet (UV) light, leading to notable histological changes. This type of damage can affect both the epidermis and dermis layers of the skin. The purpose of this review article is to highlight and summarize the recent findings from the past five years concerning the histology associated with photoaging and the molecular mechanisms that contribute to this skin damage. The methodology employed involved a thorough literature review of articles published between 2020 and 2025. Journals were identified using targeted keywords, including "photoaging," "skin aging," "histology," and "actinic elastosis." The findings from this search are presented in a narrative format. The study found that UV exposure causes photoaging of the skin with damage to the epidermis and dermis. Photoaging causes structural and functional changes in the skin and causes gene mutations leading to skin carcinogenesis.

Abstract

Shiatsu therapy is a complementary treatment approach rooted in Japanese tradition, based on the principle of applying pressure to specific points on the body to stimulate energy flow, improve health, and support well-being. This study aims to explore the effect of shiatsu therapy on reducing the risk of injury. This study utilized a qualitative methodology, conducting a literature review of journals published between 2015 and 2025 related to shiatsu therapy. The search employed the keywords "shiatsu massage," "shiatsu for muscle injury," and "effect of shiatsu." Findings from the literature were synthesized and presented in narrative form The findings indicate that shiatsu therapy may reduce the risk of injury by decreasing muscle tension, enhancing flexibility, and increasing range of motion. Furthermore, shiatsu therapy is associated with psychological benefits, including reduced stress and improved sleep quality, both of which are crucial for recovery. Therefore, shiatsu therapy represents a potential strategy for injury prevention and comprehensive health maintenance.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis prosses model pembelajaran Snowball Throwing terhadap aktivitas dan hasil belajar siswa kelas IV di SDN 61/II. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah Penelitian Tidanakan Kelas dengan model kemmis dan MC Taggart dan model pembelajaran Snowball Throwing pada kelas IV. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi wawancara dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan pada aktivitas dan hasil belajar siswa. Pada Prasiklus hasil belajar siswa memiliki persentase sebesar 67% dengan keaktifan belajar sebesar 59%, pada siklus I hasil belajar siswa sebesar 69% dengan keaktifan belajar sebesar 65%, sedangkan pada siklus II hasi l belajar siswa mencapai 91% dengan keaktifan belajar siswa sebesar 83%, hal ini menunjukan bahwa siswa mencapai ketuntasan belajar setelah menggunakan model Snowball Throwing. Peningkatan aktivitas belajar siswa juga terlihat dari persentase keaktifan yang meningkat dari 59% pada prasiklus menjadi 82% pada siklus II. Kesimpulannya, penerapan model pembelajaran snowball throwing terbukti efektif dalam meningkatkan aktivitas dan hasil belajar siswa pada materi proses perumusan dan nilai-nilai Pancasila. Model ini dapat menjadi alternatif metode pembelajaran yang menarik dan memotivasi siswa dalam belajar.
