Abstract

Learning Natural and Social Sciences in elementary schools plays a strategic role in developing students' holistic understanding of natural and social phenomena, including in the context of disaster mitigation education. However, the implementation of Natural And Social Sciences learning in the digital era still faces various gaps that have the potential to hinder students' optimal achievement of disaster mitigation competencies. This study aims to comprehensively examine the gaps in Natural And Social Sciences learning in disaster mitigation education in elementary schools in the digital era. This research used a qualitative approach with a systematic literature study design enriched by conceptual analysis. Data were obtained from reputable scientific articles published between 2018 and 2022 and accessed through the Scopus, Web of Science, ERIC, ScienceDirect, and Google Scholar databases. Data were analyzed using thematic analysis to identify patterns and dimensions of gaps in Natural And Social Sciences learning in the context of disaster mitigation education. The results indicate that gaps in Natural And Social Sciences learning consistently emerge across four main dimensions: curriculum, pedagogy, digital technology utilization, and student mitigation competencies. The largest gap was found in the dimension of digital technology utilization, which is still dominated by the use of technology as a medium for information delivery, followed by gaps in students' mitigation competencies, pedagogical approaches, and curriculum. These findings indicate that although the curriculum provides space for the integration of disaster mitigation education, the implementation of science and natural sciences learning has not fully supported meaningful, contextual learning oriented toward the formation of mitigation behaviors. This study concludes that the gap in science and natural sciences learning in disaster mitigation education stems not only from the curriculum but is more influenced by the weak integration between pedagogy, digital technology, and the disaster context. Therefore, it is necessary to develop inquiry-based science and natural sciences learning integrated with digital technology and the local disaster context to strengthen mitigation competencies and environmental awareness in elementary school students in the digital era.

Abstract

This study aims to develop AI-based interactive multimedia and evaluate its feasibility and effectiveness in enhancing the critical thinking skills of elementary school students. The research employed a Research and Development (R&D) method using the ADDIE model, consisting of the Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation phases. The participants were 52 elementary school students. The instruments used in this study included expert validation questionnaires, user response questionnaires, and critical thinking test sheets. Data were analyzed through expert validation analysis, teacher and student practicality response analysis, and critical thinking test analysis of students in the experimental and control groups using the t-test and N-Gain test. The expert validation results showed average scores of 93.7% from material experts, 94.8% from media experts, and 95% from linguists, all categorized as “very valid,” indicating that the AI-based interactive multimedia is highly appropriate for use. The effectiveness test, conducted by comparing pretest and posttest results of 26 control-class students and 26 experimental-class students, revealed that the control class obtained an average pretest score of 58.85 and a posttest score of 75.00, whereas the experimental class obtained 60.05 and 86.08, respectively. The t-test yielded a Sig. (2-tailed) value of 0.000 < 0.05, indicating a significant difference in students’ critical thinking abilities between the experimental and control classes. The N-Gain score of 65 indicated a moderately effective category. In conclusion, the AI-based interactive multimedia developed for science learning content is feasible and effective in improving elementary students’ critical thinking skills.

Abstract

Kegiatan Pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis dampak lingkungan dengan bau busuk terhadap kesejahteraan masyarakat di Wilayah TPSS Cipayung Kota Depok. Metode Kegiatan Pengabdian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif deskriptif dengan pengumpulan data melalui wawancara terhadap sejumlah responden. Hasil Kegiatan Pengabdian menunjukkan bahwa bau busuk yang terkait dengan lingkungan di Wilayah TPSS Cipayung Kota Depok memiliki dampak signifikan terhadap kesejahteraan masyarakat. Pertama, ditemukan bahwa bau busuk tersebut menyebabkan gangguan kesehatan, seperti iritasi pada saluran pernapasan dan gangguan pencernaan. Hal ini berdampak pada kualitas hidup dan kesejahteraan fisik masyarakat. Kedua, kehadiran bau yang tidak sedap menciptakan penurunan kualitas hidup, mengganggu kenyamanan sehari-hari, suasana hati, kualitas tidur, dan interaksi sosial masyarakat. Hal ini berpotensi mengurangi tingkat kesejahteraan mereka secara keseluruhan. Ketiga, dampak bau busuk juga berkontribusi pada stigmatisasi dan diskriminasi terhadap masyarakat. Responden melaporkan adanya perasaan malu dan perlakuan rendah dari orang lain karena asosiasi bau busuk dengan kondisi lingkungan mereka. Stigmatisasi dan diskriminasi ini dapat mempengaruhi harga diri dan kesejahteraan psikologis masyarakat. Temuan ini menunjukkan pentingnya tindakan untuk meningkatkan pengawasan dan pengendalian bau busuk serta perlunya upaya dalam meningkatkan kesadaran masyarakat akan pentingnya menjaga kebersihan lingkungan. Diharapkan langkah-langkah ini dapat meningkatkan kualitas hidup dan kesejahteraan masyarakat di Wilayah TPSS Cipayung Kota Depok.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan serta menguji kelayakan dan keefektifan media pembelajaran berbasis permainan, yaitu Board Game Mathventure, pada materi luas bangun datar untuk siswa kelas V sekolah dasar. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Research and Development (R&D) dengan model pengembangan Borg and Gall yang dilaksanakan hingga tahap uji pemakaian produk. Subjek penelitian terdiri atas 21 siswa kelas VB SDN Tebet Barat 08 Pagi Jakarta Selatan. Instrumen pengumpulan data meliputi angket validasi ahli, angket respons siswa, serta tes hasil belajar berupa pre-test dan post-test. Hasil validasi menunjukkan bahwa media memperoleh kategori sangat valid dari ahli media (100%), ahli bahasa (93,3%), dan ahli materi (100%). Uji coba skala kecil memperoleh nilai 83,3% dengan kategori valid. Hasil uji keefektifan menunjukkan adanya peningkatan nilai rata-rata siswa dari 56,10 pada pre-test menjadi 87,25 pada post-test dengan nilai N-Gain sebesar 0,70 yang berada pada kategori cukup efektif hingga efektif. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa Board Game Mathventure layak dan efektif digunakan sebagai media pembelajaran untuk meningkatkan pemahaman konsep luas bangun datar pada siswa sekolah dasar.
