Abstract

Statistical data analysis is the process of examining, cleaning, transforming, and modeling data with the aim of discovering useful information, drawing conclusions, and supporting decision-making. This process involves various statistical techniques and methods applied to data to understand, explain, and predict phenomena. Skills like these are greatly needed by students. Therefore, training in the use of the open-source statistical application JASP is necessary to enhance the statistical data analysis capabilities of UIN Mataram students, especially those in their final semester. This community service activity aims to introduce and train the use of JASP as a free and license-free alternative for statistical data analysis, considering the limitations of accessibility and ethical issues surrounding the use of paid software like SPSS in academic environments. The training methodology includes theoretical sessions and practical application of JASP, focusing on multiple linear regression analysis and path analysis. An initial survey showed that only 25% of final-semester students were familiar with open-source applications like JASP. After the training, there was a significant increase in understanding and application of JASP, with 85% of participants showing improved competence. These results demonstrate the importance of training in open-source statistical applications to support student academic research and strengthen academic integrity within the Islamic university environment. This study provides insights into ethical and affordable statistical software alternatives and highlights the importance of analytical skills in higher education.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of differentiated learning and Direct Instruction models on student learning outcomes, viewed from the perspective of student learning interest. The research was conducted in one of the Elementary Schools in Bima Regency, West Nusa Tenggara Province, using experimental methods and a 2 x 2 by-level research design. The results of the study indicate that: (1) The learning outcomes of students who follow the differentiated learning model are higher compared to those who follow the Direct Instruction model, (2) There is an interaction between the differentiated learning and Direct Instruction models with student learning interest towards learning outcomes, (3) Students with high learning interest perform better in the differentiated learning model compared to the Direct Instruction model, and (4) Students with low learning interest perform better in the Direct Instruction model compared to the differentiated learning model

Abstract

Abstract

The significant increase in infrastructure development is directly proportional to the rising accident rate in the construction sector, making it one of the highest-risk sectors for accidents. This phenomenon indicates that existing construction safety audits have not been effective in preventing accidents, largely because audits are generally conducted only at the construction stage. Audits at the design stage, however, have the potential to impact accident prevention significantly. Therefore, this research aims to develop a construction safety audit model using the Business Process Model and Notation (BPMN) and analyzes the impacts on stakeholder communication and collaboration. BPMN was chosen because it provides a clear and standardized visual representation of business processes, making it easier to identify potential safety issues and improve stakeholder understanding. Statistical methods were employed to examine the relationships, resulting in a linear equation model with a strong correlation. Furthermore, audit activities conducted through three layers of stakeholders can be efficiently modeled using BPMN, positively impacting stakeholder communication and collaboration. Applying the Three Lines of Defense (TLoD) theory and BPMN provides new insights for construction safety committees and companies to plan and conduct more comprehensive safety audits. The implication of this study includes a potential reduction in construction accidents and improved work safety through more effective communication and collaboration among stakeholders.

Abstract

This community service program carried the theme “Enhancing the Statistical Competence of UIN Mataram Students Through Practical Training on Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) Using JASP Software for Final Project Data Analysis.” The program was delivered in the form of training for final-year students as well as students who had previously taken courses in Statistics and Research Methodology. The activity took place in the computer laboratory at the Research Center Building, Campus 2 of UIN Mataram, with a total of 30 participants. Most participants were fifth- or seventh-semester students who were currently working on or preparing to begin their undergraduate thesis or final project. The training was conducted offline. The stages of the activity included an opening session, material presentation, hands-on training, a discussion or Q&A session, and finally, a closing session. After the training, the service team distributed a questionnaire to evaluate the program. The results indicated a significant improvement in students’ understanding of data analysis, particularly in comparative cases involving more than two groups, which can be analyzed using ANOVA. The paired t-test results showed a highly significant increase in participants’ scores after the training. The average pretest score was 28.67 (pretest SD ? 6.29), while the average posttest score increased to 76.17 (posttest SD ? 8.78). The mean difference (posttest ? pretest) of +47.50 reflects a substantial improvement. The paired t-test yielded t(29) = ?27.03, p < .001 (the test was conducted on the difference between pretest and posttest scores), indicating that the improvement was statistically significant. Thus, both statistically and practically, the ANOVA training using JASP proved to be effective in enhancing participants’ analytical skills.

Abstract

The phenomenon of "Marriage is Scary" among Indonesian Muslim youth reflects the level of anxiety about the institution of marriage, despite its foundational status in Islamic theology as a sacred covenant (mithaq ghaliz) and act of worship. This study explores the theological underpinnings of these fears and examines how young Muslims reconcile divine principles with contemporary life challenges. Using a qualitative method, semi-structured interviews were conducted with 15 unmarried participants who reported anxiety or reluctance toward marriage. Thematic analysis revealed four primary factors: negative familial experiences, economic insecurity, fear of personal constraint, and exposure to negative narratives via social media. While participants acknowledged theological teachings—such as reliance on Allah (Q.S. At-Talaq: 2–3) and marriage as a Sunnah—many found these ideals difficult to apply in practice due to structural and emotional barriers. Rather than positioning Islamic theology as a prescriptive solution, the study highlights its potential as a reflective framework through which youth navigate moral ambivalence, spiritual doubt, and social transitions. The findings call for a renewed engagement with Islamic theology that addresses relational fears not only through doctrinal affirmation but through lived, contextual interpretation. This research contributes to a deeper understanding of how Islamic theological discourse interacts with personal and societal anxieties, offering a more grounded approach to addressing fears of marriage among Muslim youth in Indonesia.
