Abstract

Railway-level crossing safety is a major issue in the transport system, especially in East Java where accidents occur frequently. This study aims to find the trend of accidents at the level crossing of DAOP 8 East Java and create data-driven preventive measures. The study used a mixed method approach, agent-based simulation, questionnaires, and interviews in addition to analyzing historical accident data. The results showed a significant prevalence of crashes in metropolitan locations, with higher risks during peak hours and homecoming periods. The largest incidences were reported in Sidoarjo and Surabaya, with significantly increased risk at night. The significant contributing factors are the presence of large vehicles, obstacles, weather, occurrence at night, and the presence of a crossbar. Keywords: Data-based prevention; DAOP 8 East Java Province; Level crossings; Risk analysis; Train accidents.

Abstract

In the landslide–prone terrains of Puri District, East Java, engineers have crafted a groundbreaking solution to a life–threatening problem: a hybrid retaining wall that fuses traditional batu kali masonry with reinforced concrete, designed to outlast both relentless soil creep and violent earthquakes. Standing 4.25 meters tall and stretching 20 meters across a fragile slope, this structure—embedded 1.5 meters into the earth—defies seismic forces amplified by climate change, withstanding horizontal accelerations of 0.19g and shear forces that spike 388% during quakes. Rigorous analysis reveals its secret: D16 steel bars, spaced as tight as 100 mm at stress hotspots, work in concert with locally quarried stone to balance cost and resilience. The wall’s success lies in numbers—sliding safety factors of 4.02 (normal) and 1.78 (seismic), bearing pressures grazing 99.9% of limits without failure—but its true victory is human. Shielding a riverside community from catastrophic landslides, it ensures roads stay open, homes remain intact, and daily life flows uninterrupted. As Indonesia battles rising rainfall and tectonic unrest, this innovation offers a replicable blueprint: marrying ancestral building wisdom with 21st–century engineering to turn vulnerability into durability. Abstract

Ir. Soekarno - Jl. Dr. M. Hatta, MKJI 1997, DS, tundaan, antrian Abstract The Covid-19 pandemic, which began in 2019 until now, in 2022, has considerably influenced the movement of people, goods, and services. The implementation of Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM) requires the community to limit their activities outside the home so that most activities are carried out from home or work from home (WFH). The number of tourism sectors scattered in Batu City, which is closed, affects the volume of vehicles heading towards Batu City. The decrease in the number of vehicles affects the performance of the Pendem T-junction. The method used to determine the performance of the intersection is based on the 1997 Indonesian road capacity manual. The performance parameters of the intersection are the degree of saturation, delay, and queue probability. From the calculation, the DS value is 0.31, with a delay value ranging from 2.39 to 7.06. The performance of the intersection is at level B, which is Good. During the survei was conducted, Malang Raya was at PPKM Level 3. This condition caused a decrease in vehicle volume levels by 83.7%. This decrease in vehicle volume causes the performance of the Pendem intersection to be at level B from the previous level F. Keywords: Jl. Ir. Soekarno - Jl. Dr. M. Abstract

This community service is carried out to entrepreneurs in the slipper's home industry, precisely in Kotalama Village, Kedungkandang District, Malang City. The micro-business developing in this village manufactures slippers, which only absorbs 3 to 6 workers. IRT "Fla.Fe" was made as a partner because it has problems producing sandals, which are still very simple. Equipment not touched by science and technology has resulted in production results not being maximized, so production income has not been optimal. There still needs to be more understanding about models and variations of flip-flops. So far, cutting the upper is still using the manual method, namely with hand scissors. Through the Unisma Grant (HI-ma) program, it is expected to solve existing problems by designing and making slipper upper-cutting tools to increase production results and business profits.

Abstract

Pamekasan area is famous for its crackers called krupuk tangguk. The industrial center area in Gladak Anyar Village is able to absorb 30 to 60 workers. IRT “SINAB” which is used as an activity partner, has several problems, including: low attention to the type of raw material so that the taste of the product is not standard; the drying area uses a base made of woven coconut leaves so that the product is not hygienic; the frying process still uses firewood, frying oil is used until it turns black and there has been no attempt to purify the oil causing low product quality, there has been no effort to product packaging and labeling, financial management is unwell documented, and product brands have not been registered with the Directorate General of Intellectual Property Rights. These problems will be resolved by providing training on the importance of selecting raw materials, training on cooking oil purification, training in making financial journals, registering trademarks and providing equipment assistance such as stoves replaced with LPG and LPG gas stoves, drying places for crackers from woven leaves. coconut replaced tools made of stainless steel, packaging and labeling devices. The output targets of this program are tangguk crackers with better quality and performance, registered trademarks, and produce a good financial management system.
