Abstract

Technological advances move very quickly in this era of globalization. This happened due to the rapid dissemination of information. The website is currently an effective source of information that can be used as a data collection tool because it has a global reach. The use of information technology in this case is the construction of a village website. Information about villages can be easily and quickly disseminated thanks to information technology. This system aims to make it easier to share important information about the village, such as activities or other data that has not been recorded in the documentation. Using the methods of observation, interviews, and literature studies, this website can also improve services to rural communities and promote village business results, potential, population, area, and other factors. A module from OpenSID was used to build this village information system website so that people can use village services more easily and quickly. The people of Bogatama Village hope that this information system website can improve the quality of the service delivery process

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to develop a history learning media integrated with science and technology, especially by implementing the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) approach. One form of learning media innovation developed in this study is Virtual Reality (VR)-based media, which aims to improve students' critical thinking skills. This study uses the Research and Development (R&D) method with a 4D development model, which consists of four stages: 1) analysis stage, 2) design stage, 3) development stage, 4) implementation stage, and added stage 5) evaluation to measure the success of implementation. The research subjects involved students of class XII IPS 1 as the experimental class and XII IPS 2 as the control class at SMA Negeri 4 Bandar Lampung. The type of research used is a quasi-experiment with a pretest-posttest design. After the treatment was given to the experimental class through the use of VR-based HISGO media, the results of the analysis using the SPSS 24 application showed a significance value of 0.000 <0.05. This indicates a significant difference between the learning outcomes of the experimental class and the control class. Thus, this learning media is proven to be effective in improving students' critical thinking skills.

Abstract

Abstract

The research explores the potential of incorporating science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) education approach and critical thinking to enhance historical consciousness. The study employs an ex post facto quantitative method, specifically a correlational design to analyse the variables. The research population comprises 425 students from diverse backgrounds in Banten Province schools that have implemented the STEM approach. A sample size of 202 students is determined using a predefined error rate. Data collection involves tests and questionnaires assessing historical thinking skills, STEM approaches, and historical consciousness. Statistical analysis, including partial and simultaneous multiple correlation tests, reveals a significant and very strong positive relationship between STEM approach, historical thinking skills, and historical consciousness. This suggests that the interplay of these factors enhances history learning and encourages a deeper understanding of historical events, promoting critical thinking, and historical consciousness. The study emphasizes the importance of integrating STEM methodologies into history education to provide students with a holistic understanding of historical events and their societal implications. Such an approach bridges the gap between STEM and history, fostering interdisciplinary collaboration and promoting informed and empathetic citizens. Future research should explore diverse samples, employ qualitative methods, and investigate curriculum designs and teaching strategies that effectively integrate STEM and history education.
