Abstract

Literary works are written based on the author's experience. The author tries to reflect and analyze the events he experienced into his work. Such a process can be said to be an imaginative process. Besides imagination, writers also need special techniques so that the work presented is well and interesting. One technique that can be used is four mathematical thinking patterns. The four mathematical mindsets include a square mindset, cross mindset, similarity mindset, and difference mindset. This technique functions for regional awareness, conflict building, resolution building, and diction selection. This technique is used by PGSD Study Program students to create short stories. The method in this article uses a qualitative research design with exploratory research types to understand the text and context. Data analysis was carried out by comparing short stories with four mathematical thinking techniques. The results of the research show that PGSD Study Program students understand the rules of short story writing, and can implement the four mathematical thinking techniques for creating short stories.

Abstract

Two mathematical mindsets are part of the four mathematical mindsets integrated into the technique of writing observation report texts, a writing method developed by Ayu Utami. This study aimed to investigate the effect of two mathematical mindsets on the students’ ability to write observation report texts in grade 4 at SDN Dukuh Menanggal 1 Surabaya. This research employed a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental posttest-only design. The samples consisted of grade 4A students as the control group and grade 4B students as the experimental group. The t-test results showed that the t-count was 9.860, while the t-table was 2.0262 at a 5% significance level with 37 degrees of freedom. Since t-count (9.860) > t-table (2.0262), the hypothesis was accepted. The study concluded that the two mathematical mindsets technique significantly improved the students’ skills in writing observation report texts.

Abstract

Folklor merupakan sebagian kebudayaan suatu masyarakat yang tersebar dan diwariskan secara lisan dan turun temurun, oleh karena itu perlu diselamatkan dan dipelihara agar menjadi identitas budaya lokal daerah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan bentuk dan fungsi mitos Bujuk Agung di Bondowoso. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu metode pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif. Hasil penelitian ini ditemukan bentuk cerita dan fungsi mitos Bujuk Agung yang dikaji melalui teori Alan Dundes. Disimpulkan bahwa mitos Bujuk Agung dapat difungsikan sebagai: 1) sarana pendidikan, 2) sarana penebal perasaan solidaritas kolektifnya, 3) sarana pemberi sangsi sosial agar orang berperilaku baik atau memberi hukuman, dan 4) sarana kritik sosial terhadap ketidakadilan, hiburan, Mempertebal rasa percaya diri untuk mencari makna hidup dalam kehidupan.

Abstract

Wayang kulit Jawa Timuran merupakan seni pedalangan yang berasal dari Jawa Timur. Sub-Kultur Jawa Timur atau residu Brang Wetan meliputi Mojokertoan, Porongan, Malangan, dan Pesisiran. Ciri khas wayang kulit Jawa Timuran diantaranya terdapat pada olah gamelan dan struktur penceritaan. Gamelan dapat diperhatikan dari pukulan kendang yang khas seperti dalam tari remo dan Ludruk. Bahkan, tari Remo dipentaskan untuk membuka pergelaran wayang kulit Jawa Timuran. Fungsi tari remo sebagai conditioning atau untuk mengundang penonton hadir di pergelaran wayang kulit. Berdasarkan hal tersebut, dapat dikatakan bahwa kedudukan tari remo begitu penting dalam masyarakat Jawa Timuran. Di sisi lain, gendhing-gendhing yang digunakan memiliki nuansa tersendiri. Masyarakat yang bukan dalam wilayah Brang Wetan, akan merasa aneh mendengarkan gendhing-gendhing Jawa Timuran. Hal tersebut disebabkan, masyarakat di luar wilayah Brang Wetan tidak memahami konvensi naratif wayang kulit Jawa Timuran. Sedangkan struktur penceritaan berkaitan dengan pengadeganan, dimana struktur penceritaan wayang kulit Jawa Timuran mengalir mengikuti alur cerita. Maksudnya, jalinan antar adegan atau cerita tidak dipisah-pisahkan secara tegas, tetapi mengalir mengikuti narasi. Narasi yang dibangun dalang berfungsi sebagai pembentuk karakter cerita. Dua ciri khas dari wayang kulit Jawa Timuran tersebut menjadi identitas masyarakat Jawa Timur. Berdasarkan hal tersebut, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan nuansa gendhing dalam wayang kulit Jawa Timuran dan struktur penceritaan wayang kulit Jawa Timuran. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mendeskripsikan karakteristik gendhing-gendhing dan struktur penceritaan pergelaran wayang kulit Jawa Timuran. Metode penelitian menggunakan metode etnografi dan hermeneutik.

Abstract

A short story is a type of prose that does not have a lot of conflict and many characters in it, but it has a complex unanimity. However, writing a short story is not easy because it requires imaginative power and qualified creativity to express ideas and processing language. The imaginative process and creativity do not just exist but need to be trained intensively and continuously. There are several strategies for writing short stories, especially for beginner writers. The first strategy is compiling the outline of the essay, and the second one is using the technique of developing idea. One of the techniques to compile the outline of the essay is using “cilukba” pattern technique. Meanwhile, 5 thinking mechanisms is a technique used for developing an essay outline. This technique includes developing, omitting, increasing, decreasing, and sideways. This pattern was applied by PGSD students at Universitas PGRI Adi Buana registered in 2016 to write short stories. The methods included that (1) lecturers decided themes, (2) students were assigned to compile an outline based on “cilukba” patterns, (3) students were assigned to study the 5 thinking mechanism techniques, and (4) students were asked to arrange the outline based on the 5 thinking mechanism techniques. Based on this finding, PGSD students of Universitas PGRI Adi Buana Surabaya were able to write short stories and compiled the short stories into an ISBN collection book of short stories.

Abstract

Literary works in Indonesia, including novels, both in terms of ideas and content, are heavily influenced by works from abroad. This influence is caused by many things, for example Indonesian writers who idolize foreign writers, similarities in social situations and conditions, or even unplanned similarities because Indonesian writers unconsciously intensively read one of the works of foreign writers. This research attempts to compare the novel Ipung by Prie GS with the novel the Alchemist by Paulo Coelho. Comparisons are only limited to pouring out the ideas, genres, and motives contained in the two novels. This research is a descriptive qualitative research that describes a number of ideas, genres, and motives concerning the basic issues of creation, and the message can be expressed accuratel. Based on the research results, it was stated that the novel Sang Alkemis by Paulo Coelho influenced Prie GS novel Ipung, both in terms of ideas, genres, and motives.

Abstract

AbstractThis research was carried out because in one lesson the teacher still separated the subject matter that should be contained thematically. In addition, the learning process is not optimal because students experience adjustments due to the implementation of online learning. So, the provision of learning media is very important in the learning process, one of which is using animated videos. The purpose of this study was to describe the effect of animated video on cognitive learning outcomes of fourth grade students at SDN Kepuh Kiriman I Waru Sidoarjo. This research is included in the type of true experimental, with a posttest-only control design. The research subjects were 51 students. The results obtained from the experimental class amounted to 2,292 with an average of 91.68 and the highest score was 100 as many as 6 students. While the score in the control class was 2,096, with an average of 80.62 and the highest score was 100, with 3 students. The results of the calculation of hypothesis testing using SPSS version 26 software are proven by a significant value of 0.000 which means a value less than 0.05 indicates Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. So, it can be concluded that animated videos have a very good effect on cognitive learning outcomes for fourth grade students at SDN Kepuh Kiriman I Waru Sidoarjo.Keywords: animated video, learning outcomes.
