Abstract

This study aims to determine the comparison of high lob and roll pointing techniques among South Sulawesi Petanque athletes at distances of 6, 7, 8, and 9 meters. This study employs a quantitative research design with a descriptive approach. Data collection techniques include observation, pointing skills tests, and documentation. At a distance of 6 meters, the research yielded results. The Mann-Whitney test yielded a result of 0.080, surpassing the significance level of 0.05. This result led to the acceptance of H0, indicating that the athletes' abilities did not differ between the pointing high lob and pointing roll techniques. At a distance of 7 meters, the Mann-Whitney test yielded a result of 0.508, surpassing the 0.05 level, indicating that the athletes' abilities do not differ between the Pointing High Lob and Pointing Roll techniques. At a distance of 8 meters, the result of the Mann-Whitney test is 0.817, which is a value greater than the 0.05 level, so at this distance, there is no comparison of athletes' ability to throw using the Pointing High Lob and Pointing Roll techniques. At a distance of 9 meters, the result of the Mann-Whitney test is 0.000, which is a value smaller than the 0.05 level, so at this distance, there is a comparison of athletes' throwing abilities between using the Pointing High Lob and Pointing Roll techniques.

Abstract

The study's background is based on the fact that no previous study has examined the football passing skills of Smanko students in South Sulawesi. This research aims to examine the influence of moving passing and concentration training on improving the football passing skills of Smanko students in Sulsel. This study utilized an experimental approach, employing a one-group pretest-posttest design. The population consisted of Smanko Sulsel students, who were still actively participating in routine training. We used a sample of 24 athletes. The results of the study are: there is an influence of moving passing training in increasing football passing skills of Smanko students in Sulsel with an average score of 83.00 with a sig value of 0.000 (P<0.05), and there is an influence of concentration in increasing football passing skills of Smanko students in Sulsel, obtaining an average score of - mean 79.17 with a sig value of 0.000 (P<0.05). Therefore, we can conclude that moving passing and concentration training significantly enhance the football passing skills of Smanko students in Sulsel.

The research sample comprised 20 athletes, selected through a sampling technique from the entire population of athletes participating in the BKMF Sparta FIKK UNM, for 20 participants. This study utilizes a volleyball serviceability test. We used descriptive statistics for data analysis, ensuring a 95% truth level. The research results from the UsinprogrammeS version 25.00 program revealed that out of 20 athletes, or 100%, BKMF Sparta FIKK UNM athletes had the best serving ability in volleyball; 1 athlete, or 5.0%, falls into the excellent category, and 3 athletes, or 15.0%, belong to the good group. The moderate category included 10 athletes (50.0%), the poor category included 5 athletes (25.0%), and the very poor category included 1 athlete (5.0%). Therefore, it can be said that the best serving ability of BKMF Sparta FIKK UNM athletes in volleyball is in the medium group if you look at the final statistical percentage.

Abstract

Hypertension is a major health issue among older adults and is often referred to as a silent killer due to its asymptomatic progression. Community health cadres play a key role in delivering basic health services, yet their knowledge of hypertension prevention is often limited. This community engagement program aimed to enhance cadre knowledge and skills through structured health education and physical activity interventions. The methods included lectures, interactive discussions, pre- and post-tests, and direct mentoring in senior exercise sessions implemented under the SABTUA (Saturday Activities with Older Adults) program. Pre-test results revealed that most cadres demonstrated very low knowledge levels (83.3%). After the intervention, post-test results showed significant improvement, with 66.6% in the good category and 33.3% in the excellent category. The SABTUA program also received positive responses from older adults, reflected in the increasing number of participants at each session. These findings demonstrate that a combination of health education and structured physical activity can improve both cadre awareness and older adults’ participation in hypertension prevention. Sustained support from local governance is essential to ensure the program’s long-term impact on improving the quality of life of older adults.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the integration of sportsmanship and cooperation values through physical education in elementary schools. The study employed a mixed-method approach combining qualitative observations and quantitative assessments of student behavior and attitude changes. Data were collected from 120 elementary students aged 9-12 years across three different schools in Jakarta over a 6-month period. The research utilized pre-test and post-test designs to measure changes in sportsmanship attitudes and cooperative behavior through structured physical education programs. Results indicate that well-designed physical education curricula significantly enhance students' sportsmanship values (p<0.05) and cooperation skills (p<0.01). The integration of traditional games, team sports, and character-building activities proved most effective in developing these values. Students showed improved respect for rules (78% increase), fair play behavior (65% increase), and teamwork skills (82% increase). The study concludes that physical education serves as an effective medium for character development, particularly in fostering sportsmanship and cooperation among elementary students. These findings provide empirical evidence for curriculum developers and educators to prioritize character-integrated physical education programs.
