Abstract

Countless businesses had to close permanently, and workers had to be laid off during Covid-19 pandemic, thus the emergence of entrepreneurs is crucial for Indonesia's economic recovery. This study aims to analyze further the extended systemic entrepreneurship intention model and its impact on students in Surabaya. Purposive sampling was used toward 205 students. Results were analyzed using partial least square through SmartPLS. Reciprocal relationships among all the antecedent variables of entrepreneurial intention were found to be positive and significant. Regarding the impact of the antecedent variables of entrepreneurial intention such as perceived convenience, risk tolerance, perceived feasibility and attitude, only perceived feasibility was found to have no effect on entrepreneurial intention. There are no differences in entrepreneurial intention among students with or without entrepreneurial family backgrounds. There are no differences in entrepreneurial intention among students with or without prior entrepreneurial experience. This study provides implication towards students' entrepreneurial intention during covid-19 pandemic and the robustness of systemic entrepreneurship intention model in predicting it.

Abstract

Despite various government initiatives to promote entrepreneurship, Indonesia's entrepreneurial growth remains low, with a minimal increase in entrepreneurial rates and one of the lowest rankings in Southeast Asia. Prior research on entrepreneurial intentions in Indonesia has primarily focused on pull factors, while the role of push factors remains underexplored. The objective of this research is to examine how push factors, including unemployment, job dissatisfaction, and unfavorable economic conditions on the entrepreneurial intention and behavior of MSME owners situated in North Jakarta. This study employs a non-probability purposive sampling technique, targeting MSME owners in North Jakarta as respondents. Data from 80 MSME owners were collected to achieve a statistical power of 80%. The study utilizes Partial Least Squares (PLS) to analyze the data. The results indicate that unemployment has a significant positive effect on entrepreneurial intention but does not directly influence entrepreneurial behavior. Job dissatisfaction does not significantly affect either entrepreneurial intention or entrepreneurial behavior. Economic situation has a strong positive influence on entrepreneurial intention but does not directly impact entrepreneurial behavior. Entrepreneurial intention significantly influences entrepreneurial behavior. Entrepreneurial intention mediates the relationship between unemployment and entrepreneurial behavior, as well as between economic situation and entrepreneurial behavior, while no significant mediation effect is found for job dissatisfaction. This study highlights the need for policy support to strengthen entrepreneurial intention among unemployed individuals, as it drives entrepreneurial behavior.

These sectors are widely recognized as key drivers of national economic growth. This study aims to examine the impact of Profitability, Company Size, Company Age, Audit Quality, and Audit Committee on Earnings Quality within the transportation and logistics sector during the period 2019–2023. The research utilizes secondary data derived from company financial statements, with a purposive sampling method employed to select the sample. A total of 22 companies were included in the study. Quantitative analysis was conducted using SmartPLS. The findings reveal that Company Size has a negative effect on Earnings Quality, while Company Age has a positive effect. Meanwhile, Profitability, Audit Quality, and Audit Committee were found to have no significant effect on Earnings Quality. High-quality earnings reflect a company’s true financial performance and serve as a reliable indicator for predicting future earnings.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of shopping motives on impulse buying with shopping lifestyle as a mediating variable among Tokopedia users in Indonesia. This study uses a quantitative method with an explanatory research approach. The research sample is Tokopedia users who have made transactions at least twice in the last six months, with a total of 200 respondents selected through purposive sampling. The research instrument is an online questionnaire with a Likert scale, and the data are analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM-PLS). The results show that shopping motives have a positive and significant effect on impulse buying, shopping motives have a positive and significant effect on shopping lifestyle, and shopping lifestyle has a positive and significant effect on impulse buying. Shopping lifestyle is proven to partially mediate the relationship between shopping motives and impulse buying. This finding provides a theoretical contribution in strengthening the literature on consumer behavior in the digital era, as well as practical implications for Tokopedia in designing consumer lifestyle-based marketing strategies to increase impulse buying.

Abstract

There are inconsistent findings regarding the influence of psychological contracts on innovative work behavior, with some studies showing no significant relationship while others indicate a strong positive effect, revealing a theoretical gap that needs further exploration. This study addresses that gap by examining how fulfilled psychological contracts, through the lens of Social Exchange Theory, stimulate innovative work behavior and enhance salesperson performance in Indonesia’s competitive automotive service sector. This study examines how psychological contracts influence salesperson performance, both directly and indirectly, through the mediating role of Innovative Work Behavior (IWB). Data were collected through a census of 184 salespeople from an automotive service company in Riau, Indonesia, using a structured questionnaire. Analysis was conducted with SmartPLS 4.1. The results show that psychological contracts significantly affect salesperson performance (β = 0.460, p < 0.01) and IWB (β = 0.904, p < 0.001). In turn, IWB significantly improves performance (β = 0.487, p < 0.001) and mediates the relationship between psychological contracts and performance (β = 0.440, p < 0.001). Theoretically, this study extends Social Exchange Theory by clarifying inconsistent findings on psychological contracts and innovative behavior in prior research. Practically, the results highlight the importance of fulfilling psychological contracts to stimulate innovation and strengthen sales performance in emerging market contexts.

Abstract

This study examines and analyzes the result of self-efficacy and work life balance on the organization commitment at Bank Jatim, branch of Dr.Soetomo. The research applies quantitatively. Furthermore, the data collection technique used was saturation sampling, when samples were drawn from every member of the population, i,e, 45 employees of Bank Jatim, branch of Dr. Soetomo. The method of data analysis that was employed was the Partial Least Square (PLS) program with a software instrument of SmartPLS 3.0 version. The findings indicate that while work-life balance has a favorable but negligible impact on workers' performance, self-efficacy has a beneficial influence on employees' performance. Meanwhile, employee performance is positively and significantly impacted by organizational commitment. Moreover, both self-efficacy and work-life balance has a substantial and favorable impact on employees’ performance through organizational dedication. Similarly, work-life balance significantly and favorably affects employees’ performance through organizational dedication.
