Abstract

Nusa Tenggara Barat termasuk dalam wilayah yang rentan bencana alam seperti gempa bumi yang terjadi tahun 2018 lalu. Bencana gempa bumi tersebut telah memporak porandakan rumah penduduk dan menimbulkan banyak korban jiwa. Bencana ini tak dapat diprediksi kapan kejadiannya dan akan seberapa besar resiko bahaya yang akan ditimbulkanya. Oleh karena itu, manusia hanya bisa berbuat bagaimana mengurangi/memperkecil resiko kerusakan akibat bencana tersebut. Tujuan dari kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah menyampaikan pengetahuan dan simulasi agar peserta siaga dalam mengahadapi bencana gempa bumi, sebagai salah satu langkah mitigasi bencana bagi masyarakat. Sosialisasi yang telah dilakukan 25 September 2021 pada siswa dan guru di SDN 1 Cakranegara – Mataram merupakan upaya mitigasi bencana gempa bumi. Peserta kelompok siswa diikuti 23 orang dan kelompok guru ada 3 orang. Quisioner telah diberikan untuk mendapatkan data pengetahuan mitigasi bencana baik untuk guru maupun siswa. Pengetahuan siswa tentang kebencanaan gempa bumi setelah diadakan sosialisai mendapat rata-rata skor tinggi 8,6 dari skor maksimum 10 . Namun dalam hal kesiapan siagaan menghadapi bencana masih tergolong sedang yaitu mendapat skor rata 6,0 dari skor maksimum 10. Adapun untuk 3 orang guru mengenai pengetahuan tentang kebencanan rata-rata 78,8% dan pengetahuan kesiap siagaan terhadap bencana 100 % Untuk mengetahuinya pernah tidaknya mengajarkan tentang kebencanaan kepada siswa rata rata 66,7 % pernah. Kesimpulan dari kegiatan ini mengisyaratkan bahwa sosialisasi mitigasi bencana masih harus dilakukan untuk tumbuhnya kesadaran terhadap dampak bencana alam gempa bumi.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan memberikan pelatihan kepada guru guru di SD Negeri Subahnala Dusun Subahnala Desa Peresak, Kecamatan Batukliang, Kabupaten Lombok Tengah, dalam memanfaatkan KIT IPA yang ada di sekolah dan membuat KIT IPA alternatif yang bahan bahannya berasal dari lingkungan yang mudah didapatkan. KIT IPA yang digunakan adalah KIT IPA Guru yang didistribusikan ke sekolah-sekolah oleh pemerintah melalui proyek Science Education Quality Improvement Project (SEQIP) yang merupakan proyek kerjasama Indonesia dengan Jerman. Pelatihan juga menggunakan Kit Alternatif yang komponen pembuatnya berasal dari bahan-bahan di lingkungan yang mudah didapatkan. Pelatihan dilaksanakan pada hari Sabtu tanggal 6 Agustus 2022. KIT IPA yang dilatihkan saat itu adalah alat ukur timbangan, tekanan, pemasokan air ke rumah-rumah, pengukuran suhu dengan termometer, rangkaian listrik seri dan paralel, dan elektromagnet. KIT Alternatif yang diperkenalkan dan dilatihkan adalah kapal selam sederhana dan konsep Bernoulli. Kegiatan pelatihan diakhiri dengan memberikan penjelasan integrasi KIT IPA dalam pembelajaran di kelas. Model yang diperkenalkan adalah model yang berorientasi kepada peserta didik yaitu model student oriented yang berbasis masalah (case problem). Harapannya kegiatan ini akan mampu meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran IPA di kelas. Hasil pengamatan dan observasi yang dilakukan saat awal, proses dan akhir kegiatan peserta pelatihan antusias, senang dan termotivasi untuk meningkatkan kemampuan mereka dalam menggunakan KIT IPA.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran inkuiri terbimbing berbantuan simulasi PhET terhadap hasil belajar fisika peserta didik kelas XI SMAN 1 Lingsar. Jenis penelitian ini adalah quasi eksperimen dengan desain penelitian nonequivalent control group. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh peserta didik kelas XI IPA di SMAN 1 Lingsar, yang terdiri atas lima kelas dengan total 175 orang yang terbagi ke dalam lima kelas. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan purposive sampling sehingga diperoleh dua kelas yaitu kelas XI IPA 4 sebagai kelas eksperimen dengan jumlah 33 peserta didik yang menggunakan model inkuiri terbimbing berbantuan media simulasi PhET dan kelas XI IPA 2 sebagai kelas kontrol dengan jumlah 33 peserta didik yang menggunakan model pembelajaran konvensional dengan materi yang sama yaitu gelombang berjalan dan stasioner. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini diambil menggunakan instrumen tes hasil belajar ranah kognitif berupa soal pilihan ganda sebanyak 16 soal yang telah diuji validitas, reliabilitas, tingkat kesukaran soal, dan daya beda soal. Nilai rata-rata pretest hasil belajar kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol sebesar 44,3 dan 53,9, posttest hasil belajar pada kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol yaitu 80,1 dan 71,7. Data hasil pretest dan posttest dianalisis menggunakan uji normalitas dan homogenitas, diperoleh bahwa data terdistribusi normal dan homogen, kemudian dilanjut dengan uji hipotesis menggunakan uji independent samples test dengan kriteria . Diperoleh nilai sebesar 5,712 dan  sebesar 1,997 artinya . Berdasarkan hal tersebut, maka  ditolak dan  diterima, artinya terdapat pengaruh model pembelajaran inkuiri terbimbing berbantuan media simulasi PhET terhadap hasil belajar fisika kelas XI SMAN 1 Lingsar.

Abstract

The aim of this study was to create a suitable video-assisted problem-based learning paradigm for use in teaching students to develop their critical thinking skills in physics. Elasticity and Hooke's law are the materials of physics that are used. The products developed are in the form of a syllabus, Learning Implementation Plans (RPP), teaching materials, Student Worksheets (LKPD), learning videos, and students' critical thinking skills test instruments. A total of 30 odd-semester XI MS 2 class students for the 2022/2023 academic year at SMAN 1 Kediri became research participants. Research and development (R&D) is the methodology employed, with the 4D model design consisting of define, design, develop, and disseminate. The method of data collection employed a validation sheet that was evaluated by three expert validators and three practitioner validators, and the percentage of validity was then calculated. The results of the validity of the product developed for the syllabus have a percentage of 90.83%, lesson plans of 90.90%, teaching materials of 88.54%, worksheets of 90.41%, learning videos of 89.06%, and test instruments of 90.10% with valid and reliable categories with an average percentage above 75.00%. So, it can be concluded that the resulting learning tools are valid for improving students' physics critical thinking skills.

Abstract

The research aims to determine the influence of the model problem-based learning assisted by a mobile pocket book mechanical wave to increasse students' concepts mastery and creativity. The type of research is quasi-experimental and uses a nonequivalent control group design with pre-test and post-test. Population at this study included all students of class XI IPA at SMAN 4 Mataram Academic Year 2022/2023. Samples were taken using purposive sampling technique, so that XI IPA 1 is obtained as an experimental class as many 32 people and XI IPA 2 as control class as many 31 people. Results the final test of concepts mastery obtained an average score of 78.70 in the experimental class and control class 68.81. Meanwhile, the results of the final creativity test obtained an average value of 80.79 for the experimental class and 76.02 for the control class. The hypothesis was analyzed using Manova with the help of IBM SPSS 21. Based on the results of the analysis it can be concluded that there is the influence of the problem-based learning model assisted by the mobile pocket book mechanical wave to increasse students' concepts mastery and creativity.

Abstract

The critical thinking skills must be possessed by students in order to face various problems. To enhance students' critical thinking abilities, a teaching model that can support these skills is needed. This study aims to examine the effect of the Project-Based Learning (PBL) model based on STEAM on students' physics critical thinking skills. The material used in this study is elasticity. This study explores the impact of the Project-Based Learning model as an independent variable on critical thinking skills as a dependent variable. The research method used is a quasi-experimental design with a non-equivalent control group design. The population of this study consists of all 159 students of class XI MIPA at MAN 1 Lombok Tengah. The sample used in this study includes class XI MIPA 5 as the experimental class and class XI MIPA 6 as the control class, selected using purposive sampling technique. Data analysis in this study was conducted using normality tests, homogeneity tests, and hypothesis testing. Based on the data analysis, the final results show that the average critical thinking score for the experimental class was 82.71, categorized as high, and for the control class was 72.96, categorized as medium. The research hypothesis was analyzed using the t-test for pooled variances. The obtained t-value was 5.54, and the t-table value was 1.706 at a 5% significance level. Therefore, since the t-value > t-table, the null hypothesis (H0) is rejected and the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted. Based on the analysis results, it can be concluded that there is an effect of the Project-Based Learning model on students' physics critical thinking skills.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of adding ketapang fruit ash on the physical and mechanical properties of geopolymer concrete based on high-calcium fly ash type C with an alkali activator. The research methods included chemical composition analysis of fly ash using X-Ray Fluorescence (XRF) and the preparation of concrete samples with varying concentrations of ketapang fruit ash (1%, 1.6%, 2.3%) and water content (3.6%, 3.0%, 2.3%), as well as curing durations (7, 14, and 28 days). The XRF analysis results revealed that fly ash from the Jeranjang Power Plant belongs to Class C, with major components being SiO₂ (34.8%), Fe₂O₃ (23.7%), CaO (23.0%), and Al₂O₃ (11.0%). Physical property tests indicated that the mass of concrete types I, II, and III remained relatively stable at 7, 14, and 28 days, although a slight decrease in mass was observed for concrete type I after curing, with a final mass of 6.8 kg. This decrease was attributed to environmental factors, composition, and rapid water evaporation. Mechanical property tests demonstrated a significant increase in compressive strength across all concrete samples as the concentration of ketapang fruit ash increased. The highest compressive strength was achieved by concrete type III with a ketapang fruit ash concentration of 2.3%, reaching 200 MPa at 7 days, 225 MPa at 14 days, and 270 MPa at 28 days. Furthermore, the addition of ketapang fruit ash improved the concrete's resistance to water penetration. These results suggest that incorporating ketapang fruit ash is an effective alternative for enhancing the quality of geopolymer concrete for structural applications.

Abstract

This research aims to produce an effective tool for improving students' physics problem solving abilities. The learning tool developed uses a problem-based learning model with the help of a virtual laboratory to improve students' problem solving abilities. The research design used is 4D model development research consisting of Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate. The products developed are Syllabus, RPP, LKPD, Teaching Materials, Learning Media, and Problem Solving Ability Test Instruments. The data collection technique uses the N-Gain test and is interpreted into an interpretation of effectiveness. Improving students' problem solving abilities from the results of this research shows that the N-Gain test value is 0.72 in the high category. Based on this research, it can be concluded that problem-based learning tools assisted by virtual laboratories are effective in improving students' problem-solving abilities

Abstract

Research and Development (R&D) research is included in this study using the 4D model developed by Thiagarajan. The product developed student worksheetound waves. Data collection techniques used validation sheets, teacher learning implementation observation sheets, student response questionnaires and test instruments. This product was assessed for validity by three expert validators who are physics lecturers and three practitioner validators who are physics subject teachers. Its validity was obtained from the assessment results of expert and practitioner validators, which reached 91.67% and 94.70% respectively, indicating that the product was very valid. In addition, the reliability value also met the standard with an average of above 75%. Therefore, it can be said that this product is feasible to use. The practicality of this product was evaluated through observation sheets by teachers and questionnaires filled out by students related to the learning carried out. The assessment results show that this product is very practical, with the implementation sheet by the teacher reaching 94.56% and the response of students reaching 89.54%. In addition to validity and practicality, the effectiveness of this product was also assessed. The limited trial was conducted by measuring the increase in pretest and posttest scores using the N-Gain test. The analysis results show that this product is quite effective, with the acquisition of the N-Gain test for students' science literacy of 0.69, which is in the medium category. Based on the evaluation results, it can be concluded that the sound waves student worksheetroduced is a feasible product, very practical, and quite effective in improving students' science literacy.
